I liked Brookdale Sarasota Midtown. The staff was great. The lady that took us around was very nice. The rooms were great, but what I liked was when there are hurricanes, they don't have to evacuate. That was also recommended by them, for us to ask that question, which was very nice of them because I would have never thought to ask that, like what are the procedures when we have hurricanes or do you have to evacuate from these or do you take them to a facility? That kind of thing and they said no, that everything is set there. They have a generator and so electricity and everything works. They don't need to go anywhere. They're protected and they're not in that area that would cause any issues which we liked too. I wanted to move in there. They go downtown and they go to shows and entertainment. They had very nice buildings.

I visited Brookdale Sarasota Midtown. It was an older building, and very well kept up. It had vines growing on it and a lot of trees around it. It had some other floors to it, wasn't just on one floor. It was very nice. The dining area was nice, but I didn't see any food at that time. They pretty much had the same activities as the others. The staff was very nice and very informative.

Our overall tour experience at Brookdale Sarasota Midtown was very good. The dining area was nice. They had tablecloths in it. Their memory care program (called Crossings Program) has services for people with memory loss, who are functioning at a higher level. It's sort of a cross between assisted living and true memory care. So, it seems like it's going to be a good fit for my dad and we are planning to move him there.

I went to Brookdale Sarasota Midtown. This was perhaps the most uncomfortable one that I went to. I felt like the ceilings were right on top of my head. The hallways were narrow. One of the public restrooms they had didn't have a lock on it because I went in there to use it. That would have been interesting if a resident had opened it up, and I'm sitting there. It was at the higher end of the price range of what we were looking for. Evidently, the staff moves around to all different Brookdale. She let us know when she came in that she had to go to another Brookdale facility and do the same thing the same day. The woman was extremely nice, but I think she was in a hurry. She gave us a tour and everything like that, and that was very nice; but she gave us no material, no brochures, no folders, no nothing. Brookdale itself comes very highly rated, and so I was very disappointed. The girl herself was very, very nice, but you could tell she was in a hurry. It definitely was the worst one for me, and I didn't even take my father there. The facility was actually very nice, and it was much better once I did the tour than when I first came into the lobby. Their dining room was a nice size. The exercise room and things of that nature were all good size and could accommodate 10 to 15 people or so at a time. They also had an outside gardening area where the residents could grow things. If they wanted to grow roses, tomatoes, or something of that nature. It was right behind a big shopping center, so it was a little bit noisy outside, but they had this garden area in the back that was very nice. It wasn't a complete bust, it was just an uncomfortableness that I felt for myself when I first walked in, and then the fact that the girl, who was very nice, but she was ready to go somewhere else.

We chose Brookdale Sarasota Midtown for my mom and we're very happy. We have a very positive experience there and everyone is lovely. Their accommodations are very nice and quite large. In terms of their amenities, everything is lovely. It's really well-run, the staff is very caring, and it's a very convenient place and close to a lot of things. I haven't tried their food but it looks very healthy and very good, and my mother likes it.

My mother-in-law is at Brookdale Sarasota Midtown. Everybody is very nice. It is warm and comfortable. As soon as we walked in, we knew that that was the place. The place is clean and very nice. The dining area is very nice. My mother-in-law goes to the dining room for every meal. She is also included in all the activities. We are very pleased with Brookdale.

We thought Brookdale Sarasota Midtown was wonderful. We really liked it, and we thought it would be a great place for mom. Everybody was great; it was a wonderful experience. They play bingo and cards, and they have a bus that takes them everywhere every Tuesdays and Thursday. They also have church and Bible study.

I currently live at Brookdale Midtown and love it. We do so many awesome activities to increase brain health and they make it fun. Brittany and John are fun to spend time with. Nurse Kim is always helpful and always smiling. She is very caring. There are a lot of great staff here and I appreciate all their help. My light gets answered quickly even overnight. I love living here. My home!

Everything was really nice in the Bahia Oaks Lodge, and the staff was very helpful, but they were more expensive. They had brand new carpets, and the walls were painted nicely. It was very accessible for people who are in wheelchairs or walkers. The dining area looked modern, and it was very clean. I suggest they make it a little bit more affordable.

My mother-in-law is all set at Bahia Manor. She’s been there since August. It was very clean. She has a private room; I think it’s plenty for her. It had new carpet and was freshly painted. It took her a little while to get used to it because that’s her first time being in an assisted living versus her own place. I think they’ve done a good job of getting to know her personality. She said the food is delicious. They have a lot of activities. She said there’s almost too much or there’s always something she can be doing, but I think it’s great that she’s doing them. I think she’s pretty happy.

Bahia Oaks Lodge was cramped. I saw a number of patients just sitting around looking listless. They did not look happy whatsoever. Overall, it gave me a bad impression.

We went to Bahia Oaks Lodge and it was okay, but the people seemed to congregate right at the front door where you go in, so you walk in and there was like 30 people around there. The rooms are comfortable. The staff seemed friendly and everything was fine, but it was a three-floor facility.

Bahia Oaks was actually very good place. It's high end. They didn't have any availability when I visited the place.

My parents-in-law are now at the Bahia Oaks Lodge. It's one of the places you've recommended and we chose it because it fits our needs. My husband had a taste of their food and he said that it was good.

After only visiting the facility for just an hour, I could tell that this was one of the most equipped I had seen. They had dressing assistance as well as bathing and nursing. The facility cared for religious needs, and personal activities to keep the occupants happy and enjoying their stay. With social activities, personal care, and assisted residential care, I was happy. I am considering sending my grandmother here, and she was most excited. We will definitely be giving this facility a second viewing after it made a great first impression. If you are living in the Sarasota area, I highly recommend taking a look at this facility.
