Ruth's Promise offers activities and fellowship for older adults and respite for caregivers. Ruth's Promise is a one day a week program designed to give a much needed break for caregivers but is also structured to include many services for older adults that would be found at a day care or senior center. Ruth's Promise provides a safe, inviting, therapeutic and enjoyable community, environment and program for adults who cannot stay at home alone. While the program is designed to sustain and maximize function and cognition in the older adult, as well as provide enjoyable activities in a community setting, the program also gives much needed and deserved support to caregivers and allows them time to complete tasks or relax without the demands of caregiving. "I can not say enough good things about this center and how wonderful it has been for my fathers mental well being. It has been life changing to say the least. They are a small center that does alot of daily activities to stimulate the mind,which is what seniors need to help combat dementia and depression. I was reluctant to take him at first because the center is small and I wanted something closer to our home by Safety Harbor.I'm so glad we gave it a shot because I havent seen my dad this happy a long time. I suppose I didn't realize how depressed he was until I saw the positive impact the daily socialization has made in his life at the Neighborly center. I have been praying daily for my fathers mental well being to improve so to God be all the Glory first,and neighborly second as a great blessing and help in time of need :) From the bus driver "Paul" to the Nurse in charge "Marybeth" and her helpers, you simply can't find a better crew. My father Looks forward to the time he spends each day at the center. He loves riding on the bus with his neighborly bus driver Paul who makes the ride enjoyable for everyone. He talks to my father and helps him on and off the bus. He never rushes anyone,is always courteous,accommodating, and there to lend a hand. You can tell he likes his job and cares about the seniors. I love to see that kind of integrity in people,it's rare. The center watches my fathers diet,keeps his sugar under control during the day, and let's me know from time to time how he's interacting with others. They are fabulous! My father get's up every morning excited to see his friends at the Dunedin neighborly center.I highly recommend this facility. "

"I was leery about leaving my mother in an assisted living care facility. My fears were allayed after several visits while she was in their care. She is currently still residing there and getting the care necessary to maintain her health and stability. The staff are very efficient and friendly and I would recommend this facilty to other families. The home is small enough for direct supervision of all the patients which I considered very important. "I'm taking my dad to La Bella Legacy a couple times a week and I love it. It's really great and I highly recommend them. They're very active and they are keeping my dad stimulated. It gives him and me a break from each other and it's working perfectly. The price is reasonable and it's brand new, so everything is clean. I can't say enough good things about it. They have shuffleboard, darts, music, and they have divider rooms with different activities. They even have a quiet room with a massage chair. It's just really nice and they go on walks with them. They give them catered lunch every day."

"Meals on Wheels Plus is the lead agency for Manatee county, Florida and provides a variety of services from meals to transportation, respite, adult day care, support groups and other services. It is well run and enjoys strong community support. There are not a lot of services available In the county and this one is critical to the aging population. "
