Nursing Home Communities in Sun City Center, FL

"My mom is staying at Bayshore Pointe Nursing and Rehab Center. The staff is very caring, and the facility is very clean. I'm pleased with the security, which some people don't like, but they have glass doors. When you walk in and stand in front of the glass doors, the receptionist has to let you in and out. I think that's great. To get on the elevator, you need a code. They make sure my mom is not in her room all the time. She goes to the dining room to eat, which at first, she was not happy with, but now I think she's making friends. The rehab and physical therapy are good. They have a day room where they have a TV. They take very good care of her. She is clean. I had no problems with cleanliness at all. Mom likes the food. Their staff is very caring and very professional. It's an older facility, but it's very clean. It has three levels. It's not brand new. She's still covered under Medicare; she hasn't used up her 100 days. Last year, she was at a different location that was so loud, and the staff would yell and kid around. This place is quiet."

"Canterbury Towers was outstanding, but they couldn’t take us because they had three acute patients already on their ward. They have to balance the number of acute patients against the staff there so that they can adequately care. The place didn’t smell, it looked great, and the food looked great. It seemed like a professional place. They had activities for people to do, and my overall impression was that, she would have gotten very good care there. They have two sides: a very heavily retirement community and a skilled nursing side. "

Farha, Carlos, Marian & Natalie are excellent therapists who worked with me and were so great to work with me on leg presses, walking and weights & balance. I never thought I would walk again and with their help I now can -' amazing staff"

"The staff at Consulate Health Care of Brandon was really helpful and very attentive. They gave me a very nice tour of the facility. The atmosphere seemed very pleasant and very nice. The rooms were very clean as well. They have a board on the wall with list of their activities, and they are very good. They have therapy, a hair salon area, and other things. They also have singing and music going on. "

"Shore Acres Rehab is a small facility. It looks institutional. It's dark down the hallways where the rooms are. They could make the place a little cleaner and maybe make it look brighter and welcoming. It's really stark. Also, the food that I saw that the residents were eating was not appetizing. The staff was a little unprofessional and carefree with some of the residents that were there. They should be a little bit more attentive. "

"My mother is at South Heritage Health & Rehab Center. They help her with taking her meds, with her rehab/physical therapy, and with the shower and toilet. The staff is very nice and helpful. She shares a room with a woman. The facility is clean and kept up. The food is good. They have a nice area for the elderly to gather together. It's like a nice hangout area and they are welcomed to socialize with each other. I like that."

"My mom moved in to Concordia Manor for about four months now. It's a very small community and they only take 50 patients. The staff are very caring and they know every individual patient by name. They know their likes and dislikes. They actually do have social time with the residents. They announce it over at speaker as well as going to each individual room to make sure they are aware of what's going on and they actually encourage them to come out and join. They do things that elderly people enjoy. They go over and above with everything. "

"We had a stay-over tour at Westminster Suncoast was very good. The staff we had interactions with were excellent. We stayed in a very lovely room and it was comfortable. We had a little area where we could do some cooking if you wanted to, but they also serve two meals a day. The facility was comfortable and well laid out. The only problem with them is when you have to leave your room to go elsewhere you might get wet from the rain. They have concerts, exercise classes, and they have other activities where they go to places."

"My husband was in Masonic Home of Florida. I did not know that the they would take anybody that was not a Mason, but they did open it up to Non-Masons about two years ago. It was an excellent facility. It was a little further than I wanted to drive. It was a big facility, it was clean, and it was spacious. Everything about it was good. The nursing service was good. The social service was good. Everything was just very, very good. I recommend them highly. The condition of the place was excellent. It was immaculate. I've never been in such a clean nursing home, and I have been in many, and there were absolutely no odors. There were not a lot of carts cluttering up the hall. It was the nicest nursing home I've ever seen. The staff was exceptional. They really went out of their way to keep me informed about my husband's condition. He slept a good amount of time, and many times when I went in, he was sound asleep, but the staff would tell me exactly how his night was, how his morning was, whether he was eating, and whether he had to be medicated. They told me everything I needed to know. When I went to see my husband the very first day, I was amazed because I walked into his room and the room was approximately 14 by 19, it was huge. I've never seen such a large room in a nursing home and the bathroom was large. Everything was much bigger than I would expect. They had an exercise room, they had a room where everybody was doing crossword puzzles, they had another room where they were doing painting. I don't know what all the activities were because he was a bed patient and would not be doing any of those, but I saw all those rooms as I walked down the corridor. There were lots of activities. There was a little ice cream shop and a gift shop. There were a lot of a lot of things going on. They had a huge lobby, beautifully decorated. I saw people come down in the lobby and they would open up these cabinets. There were five or six big high-top desks, and they would open up the top of the cabinet, and they were mailboxes, so the mailboxes were all enclosed in cabinet, very different, and very nice. I was impressed with the amount of activities. Value for money is exceptional."

"The rooms are nice and enviromental folks do a great job keeping these rooms clean for the nice people that stay here for one reason or another. No poop smell here ! Most of the staff are nice , but some can b a little snippy For the most they are hard working people and some have been here a long time .My is off to them ! Really anything during this pandemic there not allowed out in public much other than dr . visits .they do have bingo some times and there is a deck out back with a couple vending machines so they get fresh air if they like ! Not sure have not been to long I am REHABING from neuro surgery its a slow climb but there has been improvements thank you Therapy WAY TO GO EVERYONE ! TW "

"I was at Bayside Rehabilitation and Health Center. The rehab people were very good. The nurses were not very good and not very caring, and the doctors came in very, very short, literally 5 minutes at most to spend time with you. They were good doctors and they tried to do the best for you, but they were only allotted so much money. The food was terrible. They kept the place very clean, but the structure of the building was not very good at all. They had all kinds of games and they watched TV. They tried to do things with their residents, and that was one thing that they were good about."
