"Addington Place at College Harbor was lovely and fantastic. The people were very friendly, knowledgeable, and caring. The place was spotless and clean. The food looked lovely, but I did not stay for lunch. They had lots of activities on their calendar."

"We went to Cypress Springs. My father likes it. It's right behind the shopping center with the Publix, and he loves Publix Grocery Stores. It had several restaurants in it, and he likes the fact that he could just walk across the street. It was off of University Boulevard, and it was relatively quiet; he liked that. He liked the way that the rooms were situated. They were just designed a little bit different than the other places. He requested to go back a second time for this. We just visited the independent and the assisted living there. The rooms were nice. A couple that we looked at had brand new carpet, and you could tell that by the smell of fresh paint and those things. They designed them well to show how you would set up your furniture if you moved in. The lady who gave us the tour was very, very nice. My father liked her, too. The staff was very nice and very helpful. I actually like her the best, too. It had a very limited outside area and very limited parking. They have a fantastic movie room. They show older movies that senior citizens would enjoy."

"I moved into Desoto Palms because of the location and size. We can sit outside in the sun, and a lot of people play bingo. They serve three meals a day and have a library, a game room, activities room, living room, a beauty salon, and laundry. The staff is quick to respond, always pleasant, and smiling. They anticipate your needs and will provide transportation for your doctors' appointments. However, they have very rigid meal time. "

"Sunstar Village is an awful place. It's small. I think they have like maybe 30 people. They can only handle up to 50, but they are about half full, and I can see why. The place is old and dingy, and they have very limited staff. I found that the security is not very good. They did offer me a private room with a nice bathroom, but everything is older. I met the owner. He was in his office, and he's a young guy. It needs a lot of help. It's pretty run-down. I saw a lot of residents in wheelchairs slumped over. I saw that in every room. I didn't find it to be very inviting or anything like that. The staff was kind of distracted, like she didn't really want to give the tour, even though I scheduled it. She obviously forgot because I showed up and she asked me why I was there. She was nice enough, but not upbeat, just kind of going through the motions. All I saw was the outside place where the smokers go. They have an activity room that doubles as a dining room. They don't have a separate wing for memory care. They mix them all up."

"The Alloro at University Groves is new and modern. It is great. Everybody is over 55. However, it is just too expensive. On the plus side, they have kitchens with high-quality appliances than most rentals. They have very nice hallways. They have storage space in the apartments, which is very good. They have a decent gym and a big enough pool where you can do laps. It was clean. The spaces were small for their units, but the staff was great. It was a beautiful building."

"It is a very big community. They have several floors. It is the best one I've visited. It's very clean and very well structured. The staff was very nice and seemed to be concerned about our situation. However, in the end, they couldn't help us because of my brother's criminal record in the past. The dining area was set up like a hotel. The private room was nice and roomy, and it had a bathroom. The residents all seemed happy and engaged in whatever activity they were doing."

"Good facility, no bells and whistles, but good services and good food. Highly recommended, especially if your financial resources are pretty limited. "

" The owner is really friendly and helpful. She kept the place neat and clean. She really care about her residents and she goes beyond and above to make her residents feel at home. "

"When we toured Tampa Gardens Senior Living, everything was nice. The facility was very well kept. But when we went to the dining area to look at it, there was a woman there who had her face planted into a plate of food, and everybody was just walking around her and not helping her or anything. The waitstaff there was walking around her, and I didn't like that part. The apartments were okay. They were nice. They had nice sitting areas outside. It looked like the inside was well organized. It was a very nice place."

"I went to Grand Villa of Sarasota. They were redoing the rooms. They really had a good layout in them, so they were going to be nice: new appliances, new floors, new everything. We toured the independent living, but they have the continuation of care, which was very good. They didn't have a pool though. They were all very friendly, very happy, and very courteous while we were touring. We were scheduled to go try the food, and we couldn't make it. My wife did not want to go there because of no pool. They had a beautiful area back over there, and they had activities. They weren't boxed in. The one thing that they did have that was not good was the shared parking area. They didn't have their own dedicated parking area. It was first come, first serve with whomever they were sharing with. There were several different places over there. They were doing some remodeling and it was going to be well kept with new furniture and new stuff. It was right near downtown Sarasota and near a hospital."

"Alderman Oaks Retirement Center was nice. It had a downtown location, but I don't think they offered laundry facilities in the room. They showed us studios and one-bedrooms. They had a library, games, and just the same things."

"The cleanliness at Barrington and the attention to the location of all of the residents were very impressive. They seemed to always know where everybody was. It was very nice. Alice, the lady we talked with, was very helpful. We didn’t try the food, but it smelled good. The dining room looked very nice. They actually had two dining rooms, one being for people with more serious issues at risk of choking. There were people playing cards and games, and something was going on in the main hall. It was nice but wasn’t right for my parents. "

"We're going to stay here at Kings Point. It's got a lot to offer. It's got two clubhouses, swimming pools, and a lot of recreation facilities. The housing is very accommodating. We have a two-bedroom, two-bath that's very nice. It's on the back of a golf course. It's a golf cart community, so it's nice that way. We don't see much of the staff. When we go over to the clubhouse, the staff is usually out and about. The only time we interface with anybody in particular is the guard gate when you come in the community and the guards are always friendly, waving at you. They have a restaurant in the south clubhouse that serves full meals and a bar. The north clubhouse has lunch and breakfast. The food is good. They do a great job. It's a large community. I think there are 19 homeowner associations of probably 1900 homes whether they're attached homes or single. The clubhouse is very clean. The pools are clean. They have tennis. They have pickleball. They have a nice gymnasium you can go work out if you want to. They have bingo and card games."

"My parents are at Sun Towers Retirement right now and we have been very pleased here. The maintenance is good, but it's not perfect. Their staff turnover is very high among the med techs, but overall, I've been very pleased with the staff. The nursing level of care is excellent, and we've been very pleased with that. The food is good. The grounds are very nice. However, they had a bad bread vendor. The rolls were very hard for a while. There is some cleaning and some painting and stuff that needs to be done here and there, but they keep it kept up. And the maintenance staff is responsive. They have activities. What I appreciated about the activities department is that they are very responsive to the residents that they have. When they have higher functioning residents, they adjust the activities to the majority of the residents that they have at the time. And we feel we've got our money's worth here."
