"My father moved into this facility. The staff is excellent, they're all friendly, helpful, and my dad loves it there. His room is great. Sometimes he likes the food, and sometimes he doesn't. The dining area is really nice; they always make sure he goes to the dining room, and that's really good."

"I toured Tampa Gardens Senior Living. I liked most things about it. The only thing I didn't like was the size of the living space and having just one closet. I understand that most people who move there move by themselves, but I'm moving with my husband, so it wasn't a big enough space for us. The other thing is that we wanted the first floor and the two-bedroom ones available there were not available on the first floor. It is a possibility, but those were our biggest objections. You bring your furniture, and it didn't have appliances. It just had a little sink, a refrigerator, and a small counter space. You could put a toaster, oven, or something there, but it didn't have a means to cook. They serve three meals a day. It was a pleasant place, and the staff was very nice and helpful."

"I liked StrawBerry Ridge because it was quiet and serene. The mobile homes that I saw were the ones that somebody else had lived in, but the layout was very easy to move around in. They also had brand new mobile homes available. The people there were friendly. They have a lot of activities there. The staff was awesome and helped a lot in explaining things. It was a good location for me because you don't get all that noise even though you're close to restaurants and malls. The grounds were very clean and easy to maneuver. There were flower gardens, so they made it nice and cozy."

"I toured Hawthorne Estates of Brandon. They have a full-sized apartment. It was very nice, but they didn't have any openings. They have spacious apartments. It is a very clean facility. It's organized and efficient. It felt safe and very friendly. I haven't had the pleasure of experiencing their amenity services, but the overall feeling was excellent. They have a staff that has been there for 30 years, so they have a low turnover. They have good service. They don't keep hiring new people. You can count on them. They're safe, friendly, and they love what they do. The staff who gave the tour was excellent. Hands down, she was very good. She has been there a long time, so she likes it. You have to have people who like their jobs when you're in a place like that. What I like is that it is very home-like. It's not commercial, it is not fancy, but it's like being home. It is not over-the-top, but they have everything you need. I like the simplicity of the place."

"I went to Hacienda Heights. I like the idea that it seems to have the feel of a cruise ship. You have your food and choices. You don't have to be involved in anything because you have your own place. Instead of having an apartment, you have a little house. I'm calling it my dollhouse, coming from a big house to downsize. The people in the community are all younger than those that you would find in a home for assisted living. These people are on their own and they give you air between houses; you're not sitting on top of the other one. That's what I liked. I didn't want to go back to the housing situation of back to back or neck to neck. Here, they give you a little bit (not a lot) of land in between. Some of them are even prettier, but they're a little bit more expensive than what I can handle. The only thing I'm a little disappointed in is I wanted something a little bit more secluded. In the area of Riverview, everything's being built up. It's a community attached to a community, where there are lots of mini malls, stores, and traffic. When you pull into the Hacienda Heights, you have a little bit of a way where you get a lot more seclusion. It's so beautiful. They have the aerobics heated pool session to help you move health wise. None of it has to be by a doctor's prescription or anything. It's up to you to take the classes with whoever the instructors are. I love that they have sewing, and they have volunteering to sew for children's hospitals. I like that they have dancing lessons, if you're able to. They have potluck dinners that you are able to do if you want. It's all available at the large clubhouse that's centrally located."

"My grandmother was cared for by the loving staff, she enjoyed taking walks in the park, she loved going to bingo, she also enjoyed meeting other house mates. "

"I would like to live in Ella At Encore. It's a brand new building. It got spacious apartments. The apartment was 700 square feet, so it's more roomy. Everything is new so you're getting new appliances. They got nice and big bedroom. They also got screened balconies. "

"We have been residents for 7 years. The staff at Aston Gardens is like family, very caring of each resident. Dining experience is excellent and meals are of high quality. They have very good maintenance of buildings. The grounds are excellent and many, many activities and day trips. "

"Allegro Hyde Park has delicious cuisine. The people were very friendly and very nice. They have a lot of activities. The apartments are not much more than a thousand square feet, and that's not much when you have a big man in a wheelchair. The staff was wonderful. Everything was very nice there. If I were by myself without my husband, I might like to stay in there. It's much more cheerful than the other facility. The swimming pool was out of order the day I was there. The facility is very nice and clean."

"My husband and I live in Sun City Center, a community for those aged 55 and over. They have courts for pickleball, tennis, bocce, horseshoes, and softball. They've got a pretty active softball team, and the pickleballers are getting pretty aggressive, too. They're starting to compete nationally. They also have the dog park and the community center, where they have bingo on Monday nights. They have health fairs and things like that in the community center, too. They even have their own travel club here. They're very clean because they have people who constantly clean. They have swimming pools and spas. They have a theater here and a miniature railroad. They also have stained glass classes, art classes, and pottery classes. They have hiking trails and garden areas where you can garden. They have a lot going on, and they're building more. They really try to meet the needs of the members. They have so much to do here that if you can't find something to do, that's your problem. They have libraries, swimming classes, dancing classes, tap classes, and exercise classes. They also have a fitness center. Most of the staff members are volunteers, and they're very friendly and very open about what we have here. We have the only free ambulance service in the nation that's staffed by volunteers, and that's a big plus. I've had to use them when my husband has fallen here at home, and I can't get him up. They came out and transported him to the hospital for free. If they're available, they'll take you back, too. It really is very well run. They have CPR classes, and they have their own security patrol system, and we were part of that."

"I was living in Bayshore Presbyterian Apartments in Tampa, a 62-and-over apartment building. The community is lovely, and the building is exceptionally clean. The maintenance is excellent, people are good, and they have a lot of activities. They have a library and games like Bingo and Scrabble. They have movie nights on Saturdays and day trips for those who want to go out for lunch with people. They have Christmas parties and Thanksgiving parties, which are very lovely and very well done. They have a new property manager there who I understand is really on the ball. If you qualify through the city, the place will give you food. It's not the greatest, though. The only thing that I liked was the little piece of roasted chicken they gave us. That was the only meal that I enjoyed there."

"Annie's Assisted Living is clean. I got my own private room here. There are only six of us. The staff is very helpful. The food is great. It's all home cooked."

"I liked Jewish Center Towers the best because my doctors are right there. The management is very friendly. It was very pleasant. I got to see how well-kept the building is and everything. I got to meet some of the very sweet residents and I just had a very pleasant experience. They were very, very courteous, very welcoming, and very informative. Everything was very clean and out in the open. I had no complaints about it. From what I could also see was the staff was there for the residents."
