"I chose The Meridian at Brandon for my husband for a few reasons. The first one is it's close to where I will be living. It's very bright and sunny. They have a lot of activities. My grandchildren actually went there and they fell in love with the place. It's just a very positive place. The staff is friendly. They seem to care. They even made a point of speaking with my grandchildren, and they're teenagers, and a lot of people don't talk to teenagers. So, they're very wonderful people there. They have so many things offered for the residents there. They have activities. They have monthly dinners where I can actually go with my husband. It's scheduled, like they have themed dinners. They have a movie theater, laundry, a beauty parlor, and a bistro."

"From our first interaction to our last this has been an eye opener to the needs and minds of seniors . Mom was diagnosed with early stage dementia and the care staff and nurse re assured us always that this process of losing their independence takes time and patience and that’s what the staff have patience. I watch them get beat down but if it was easy most families would keep their loved ones home but it’s not. They have updated rooms and it doesn’t feel like a nursing home."

"It is a very big community. They have several floors. It is the best one I've visited. It's very clean and very well structured. The staff was very nice and seemed to be concerned about our situation. However, in the end, they couldn't help us because of my brother's criminal record in the past. The dining area was set up like a hotel. The private room was nice and roomy, and it had a bathroom. The residents all seemed happy and engaged in whatever activity they were doing."

"I moved to Westminster Lakeland. I like that people are involved to get a lot of activities and stuff that help keep them motivated every day. The staff is wonderful, and they offer food. The facility is clean. It's old, but it's updated. They have bingo, dancing, and tours. They have a nice kitchen, living room, dining room, and bedroom."

"I currently stay here in Osprey Manor. I have not been here that long, but we have our meals at 8:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., and at 3:30 p.m. We have our bed linen, and towels done for us. The staff is very good. Everybody's very friendly and very nice. When you first move in or come in, you are quarantined for a week. The food is quite good. Because of Covid, we haven't been doing very much. I haven't been here very long. Right now, we just go to public on Sunday or one day we go to Wal-Mart. We also go to doctor's appointments."

"I like the fact that Beacon Terrace has residents who are related to me and are elderly. It has a nice area. It’s very current and modern. They have activities, like shuffleboard and things like that. They have the ability to have outside assistance, too. "

"I visited Mas Verde Mobile Home Estates. It was too expensive. It's basically modular homes, and there are some trailers in there. It was a very nice community. It was very well kept, and I was trying to get away from having to mow my garden and do stuff like that. They didn't do that there, and they charge more. They have a pool, and they have a place where you can go eat if you don't like to cook. You could go in and have a meal in the dining room. They have an exercise room, and the pool. The dining room was empty. It's just a bunch of chairs. They have a kitchen. I don't know how they work, and I don't know if you have to tell them ahead of time, so they know how much to cook. They were kind of expensive. The staff members were very nice and helpful. They gave me lots of information and paperwork and stuff, and they mailed paperwork. The apartment was in very nice condition. It had been remodeled. It was a two-bedroom, living room, dining room. They had a carport and an outside laundry room. It's not a gym, but they have workout equipment. People can go in there, and they can ride their bikes. Their animals have to be kept on chains if they have them. You can have pets, but you have to keep them under control. You had to go down to get license tags; you have to get this for your household. You have to get stickers, they used to give you license plates. They looked very nice. It was very clean."

"My sister and brother-in-law are in a community called Lake Gibson Village in Lakeland. It's pretty expensive. It's a nice facility, but the rooms are small. They live in 550 square feet, and that includes the kind of efficiency kitchen, the living room, and then a little family room; it's just a really small thing. They have a nice swimming pool. They have a big foyer, a big theater, and they have a really nice dining hall. The meals are brought to your table by the waitresses and you order from them. They get really good food. They allow pets and their staff is pretty good. I just didn't like my sister's Medicare insurance program. They want to control all the prescriptions, all the drugs, and stuff. I just feel like they're making money off of that. Other than that, they're pretty good. They have not had a social worker on staff to take on a lot of issues, and they should have. Instead, they bring on a person or kind of subcontractor who you have to pay directly, and they charge $100 an hour, which I don't like. It's a service that should be provided by the community, and it's quite a bit of money."

"I'm currently at Arbor Hills. It's boring. The staff is nice. The place is very nice looking, but my room is small. You just sit, and you look out the window. It's modern. If a person is quiet and likes to be alone, this is the place."

"I chose to live here in Colonnades because it is not far from my family. It's also very nice and it's a gated community. The people are very friendly and very helpful. They give you all the information about everything you can and can't have, and everything you can and can't do. They take care of your yard, so you don't want to worry about that, and if we don't feel like going out to eat, we just have to go down to register and they'll fix us a meal. They have a pool, bingo, card games, walking paths, and gatherings for different occasions where everybody is welcome to go. It's very close to shopping and to restaurants, too."

"I'm staying in my own home within Cypress Lakes, which is a 55+ community. I came in and I like what they have here. The staff is very nice, cordial and very helpful. The food has been pretty good, too. They have plenty of activities, like golf clubs and different things. The facility is decent, like a modular home type of setting. You have choices for the size of the home that you want, from 1000 square feet up to 2600 square feet, and it goes up depending on the size of the property and the kind of building you want. The value is worth the money that you spend, and I think it is all pretty compatible with other places."

"I visited The Meetinghouse at Bartow last year. It's for low-income people, and it's been there for a while now. It's a nice place, and people like to live there. I never really met anyone except the person in charge of the apartments, but he was really nice. It's an independent place to live for seniors. It's nice, it's clean, and the people are very nice. It's in a location where it's easy to go places, and I like it; it's a nice location."

"It was beautiful. The people there were very interested in why we were there. They talked to us. The residents and the staff were very friendly and very informative. Everybody seemed to love everything about it. The apartments were beautiful. We saw the dining area, the living area, and all the common areas. We saw 2 different rooms. I saw the kitchen, but we didn't go into the kitchen. They had a beautiful courtyard where it's 100% safe for the residents to be out there because they can't get out."
