Cypress Lakes 55+ Community

We recently (2/23) visited Cypress Lakes Village with the goal of purchasing a snow-bird home. According to the salesperson that we were assigned to, the turn-key house that we were interested in was immaculate, in excellent shape and had high-end furniture. What we discovered once there was that the house was a complete dump with water leaks, rotting wood, worn out windows, foundation holes and old worn-out furniture. The "recently painted" kitchen cabinets also had a terrible paint job applied over laminate. None of these issues were evident from the pictures and videos posted by Cypress Lakes. The salesperson had completely lied to us about the condition of the home. She also told us that the windows were double pane, when they were actually only single pane. This same home also has one of the highest lot rents within Cypress Lakes at close to $1,800/month and the lot rent can, and probably will, increase 5%/year! We ended up making an offer on a newer, partially furnished home built in 2018. This same salesperson detailed which pieces of furniture were included in the sale. We later, after making an offer and signing a contract, found out that many of the "included furniture" items were actually not included. When we complained about this the response was "take-it-or-leave-it". Based on our previous experience with Cypress Lakes Village after living there for over two years and our recent experience with Cypress Lakes Village when trying to purchase a snow-bird home, I feel compelled to warn other potential buyers to stay clear of this place. The sales team is not to be trusted and will do and say almost anything to sell you a roach infested dump with an outrageously high lot rent. They care absolutely nothing for the buyer and will put on a big smile while lying to your face and taking your money.

I'm staying in my own home within Cypress Lakes, which is a 55+ community. I came in and I like what they have here. The staff is very nice, cordial and very helpful. The food has been pretty good, too. They have plenty of activities, like golf clubs and different things. The facility is decent, like a modular home type of setting. You have choices for the size of the home that you want, from 1000 square feet up to 2600 square feet, and it goes up depending on the size of the property and the kind of building you want. The value is worth the money that you spend, and I think it is all pretty compatible with other places.
