"The place that I will choose when the times comes is Vi at Bentley Village. It’s the one I liked the best and is definitely my first choice. It was an excellent facility with wonderful food and accomodating staff. I liked the units that were available, and it's in the neighborhood where my daughter lives. You have to go in as an independent living person. They do have assisted living, but it's directly from their population. "

"We are very impressed with The Arlington Of Naples. It is beautiful and relatively new. There are many options. The residents we saw seemed happy. There are certainly enough things for people to do. The place itself was very pristine, very modern, and very attractive. The staff was very professional. She certainly knew her business and a lot about the place. She introduced us to as many people as possible. We got a pretty good feel for the staff and the job they do."

"We went to Moorings Park. The amenities were fabulous. They had a service chapel and a lot of beautiful grounds. We never got invited to spend a night or two to check it out. But my comment is it was a very expensive place, but it was pretty crammy. The units themselves were not very upgraded, they were small. The participants in the community didn't seem as engaged or as welcoming, and so we didn't see a lot of activity. What we're looking for in independent are people that are engaged, happy, welcoming, and active. They have beautiful amenities. They have walking trails that have a special padding or surfaces that are easy for people to walk on. They have a beautiful communication system aboard that shows all the activities. It's well-maintained on the whole. They have a very nice gym/fitness area, a chapel, and an auditorium. From that standpoint, it looks very nice. The thing that we didn't care for is there was only one building that would allow pets, so that was very restricting. "

"The food and dining are excellent, my apartment and the breadth of services are wonderful. My constant pleasure is the warmth of the staff and the sense of family they and my neighbors provide. The Glenview is a beautiful home on the Gulf of Mexico with sandy beaches and glorious sunsets. It’s an experience I treasure. "

"I have lived at Cypress Cove. The buildings are yellow. It is near a wildlife preserve, and it has access to major roads. We get one meal a day. There is a pool here and an exercise room that's very well equipped. We have a medical clinic where you have access to nurses and doctors a couple of times a week. There is a lot of encouragement and opportunity for physical education on different levels. The aides that I interact with most often are very nice, gentle, and cooperative. I feel as though the dining rooms, hallways, and so forth are not designed for seniors with mobility issues. They're not as safe because of the way they're designed. I have several food issues, like gluten and lactose issues, and there are a lot of seniors who have specific foods they need to avoid. They could do a better job there, but the food is fresh. If it is not, you can send it back and get it heated up. They have weekly church services for several different faiths. The medical services have really improved in the last year. The transportation system does an excellent job. We have free transportation for medical appointments and that sort of thing. We have lots of physical activities. There are staff that run the activities, but there are also activities that are run and organized by the residents. We have a small market that's totally operated by the residents, where you can get different kinds of food items. We have outside entertainment and performances occasionally. There are six different district meetings every month that encourage feedback from the community. We have someone who helps with computers. This place has been established for 25 years, and it's actually one of the two leading ones in the Fort Myers area. It's not inexpensive, but at the same time, I don't think I could live in a privately owned residence for what I do here."
