I am a resident of The Hazelwood Community Apartments. It's great. I love it here. I am happy. My room is a 2-bedroom and it's wonderful. They have bingo, arts and crafts, social, and ice cream social. They have all kinds of stuff. They have an outdoor area with tables and chairs and there's like a putting green and pots that have plants in them. It's nice. They have an exercise room and a dining area for the people that already had food from before. They also have activities in there like bingo and stuff. There's a laundry room and a place where you can take your garbage, so you don't have to go out to the street. It's nice. It's a gated community.

I had a tour arranged for Hazelwood Community Apartments. I went there and they gave me an extremely abbreviated tour and didn't seem particularly interested in acquainting me with the facility at all. I got really brushed off. They really were not accommodating. The staff gave me about a ten-minute tour and then left. They didn't even show me a room. They did a very brief tour of the facilities. I saw two floors, the eating area, the library, and that's pretty much it.

I liked everything at Hazelwood Community Apartments. It was very nice and clean, and it was less expensive than a lot of other places. It was a very large facility and very compact. I think there was a balcony on the unit I looked at, but it's surrounded by other big buildings. So, it's not a garden facility. The staff was very, very constructive. They were very helpful. They took me on a full tour of the place and showed me all the availability. You got free laundry, free WiFi, and free TV. The security was very tight, which was good. They have a very large library, computers, and an exercise area.

I visited Hazelwood Community Apartments yesterday, and I was disappointed because they advertised the cost, but when you get there, that's the minimum. And everything else you need is ala carte, which takes the price way up. It was too expensive. If you need more than just an apartment, if you want just a basic apartment, you're okay. But if you need meals, they add $900 to it. And everything else is a la carte. If you want housekeeping, for instance, you have to pay another price. All I need is housekeeping and I can do my own cooking. But, you know, the price became too high, when you added the things that you wanted. Everybody was nice. It's just that I felt that they did false advertising without telling you that everything was a la carte. I didn't understand that because the cost from the website is substantially higher if you need even just housekeeping. The staff was nice. It's hard to find, you have to drive around a while before you see those big green gates. I was just disappointed overall. The two bedroom, two bath was a nice size. There was nobody to greet you when you went in, the floor that you went into off the parking lot was not even where the office was, and there was no literature there to tell you where the office was. So we went upstairs in the elevator to the second floor, and that was where the office was. But again, there was nobody to greet you for taking a tour. You had to find the office.

Hazelwood Community Apartments was a wonderful place. I highly recommend it. The price was just right for my mom. The community was also just right for my mom. It all met my needs. I've met the director, the leasing agent, the security, and the lady at the front desk, and they're all really, really nice and very professional. They have a salon, a big dining hall where they get three meals a day (you pay for them of course), a big library, and a free laundry room for the residents. They offer just about everything.

My tour at Hazelwood Community Apartments was nice. I like the people, everybody was friendly. The person who gave me the tour was also very friendly. The only thing they didn't have in the apartments is a microwave, but there's a dishwasher, stove, and refrigerator. Everything was pretty much laid out. They have a putt-putt golf course and shuffleboard.

We liked Hazelwood Community Apartments. They allow pets. If you don't want to eat there, you can go out and there's fast food there, there's a KFC, and there's a little shopping around there. It's a good possibility. It's a gated community, you can park, and they actually have a gate that will close, whereas some of the other places you just park wherever and people can come through and possibly damage your vehicle. This one is looking much better. The apartments were nice. The WiFi is in their little community area. The utilities are included and everything else. If there are two in the apartment, the rent covers one person, then it's an extra monthly expense for the second person, which is rather high. With the two of us, it's like $600 a month extra for the other person to eat, and I thought that was rather high. I like the fact that you have the option to either get the full-on activities, the meals, and all of that, or you can just rent the apartment and do your own cooking, your own cleaning, and that kind of stuff. They have two price rates.

Hazelwood Community Apartments was really nice. I just saw a studio, and it was excellent. They had a nice outdoor area that was inviting. The common areas looked nice. The staff was friendly, helpful, and considerate. I liked everything about it. I felt that it was a really nice place, but the area surrounding it was really sketchy, and I wouldn't want to walk around that area.

Hazelwood Community Apartments was a nice place. I saw a lot of elderly people, which was fine, but I'd like to meet more people close to my age, like sixty-four or sixty-five. They had some nice apartments, but there's no real view out there; it's all closed in. I wanted to find a place where I could go out and walk down the street anytime. I know I can't walk very far anymore, but I'd like to have a chance to go out and come back in without ringing all these bells, pushing all these buttons, and having somebody to call me whom I really can't understand on the intercom that well. I wanted to have more freedom to go outside, get some air, and take in the sights. They don't have much scenery around me. There are a lot of trees, which I guess would be pretty for some people, but I'd like to see more wide-open spaces. Their dining room was closed down due to COVID, but they have a big library, a salon, a pool room, and a laundry room. There are lots of elevators, and the apartments looked all right. They're really nice and they do provide rides to the store, which is helpful for me. But then again, I just want a place where I can get some more sunlight and outside views.

The Hazelwood was very nice and would have been our second choice. The atmosphere was very pleasant and nice. The surrounding area outside of the community was a pretty precarious area. It's a little dangerous if you go outside on the main street because there's a lot of homeless. The staff who helped me with the tour was very pleasant, and the rooms were nice. The rooms had a patio which my mom likes, but they didn't have an overhang so you'd have to get your own for that. They had security because when you go into the place, it's down an alley, and they also have a secured garage port. When I was there, one of the ladies was complaining that there are people outside that looked like they were stripping a brand-new car, so that was concerning. Their dining area is a very nice facility, and it's a restaurant style just like all the senior places I've visited.

I’ve been to Hazelwood before, and it’s very nice. They have a gym and do a lot of bus trips to different places like the grocery store and doctors' offices. I would recommend it to anyone who can afford it.

Hazelwood felt better for my needs. I chose a large, clean two-bedroom apartment.
