We chose The Fountains at Canterbury for mom. They're easy to work with and the facility seemed real nice and clean. We've known other people that have taken their parents there. The staff we worked with was very helpful with giving us information we needed to place our mom there, and she was very professional and seemed to care. They have a salon. We liked it because at some of the places we've looked at, the residents would have to go out into the hallway and use the restroom to shower. The room that she will have at The Fountains had it right there in her room. They have a dining area, and she has a patio that she can go out on from her room. The hospital is not too far, and there's plenty of restaurants around.

I like The Fountains at Canterbury, but I didn't like their pricing. They have other levels of care. They have assisted living and Alzheimer's or memory care, too. I went to see whatever they have to offer, but I didn't go into memory care. It was very nice. I remember a lake outside, and they had walking areas around it. They had nice menu in their dining room. Some of the rooms had views of the lake. They had a nice exercise room and a nice TV room. They had a covered area for my car. In general, it was a very nice place, but I didn't like their pricing. What they had was kind of a buy-in thing. But they claimed they would take care of you until your death. The pricing part of it just didn't appeal. Including the pricing, I would knock the rating down to a 4, but the rest of it was a 5, like the facility and the people.

We chose The Fountains at Canterbury. It was recommended by a friend. My mom has only been there for three weeks now, but they have been good. I've seen her room. It's nice and large, but it doesn't have a personal shower, so that was a disappointment. It seems like a nice place. I haven't heard much about the activities, but there is a beauty shop, and my mom was really grateful to be able to get her nails and hair done. The façade of the place is nice; it's very large. The memory care buildings are like individual houses with multiple rooms. It's nice and a little bit more homey than something like a high-rise building, and I think it's a good value, too.

The Fountains at Canterbury was great. The lady had already spent two hours with us, and she had another appointment coming up, so we didn't tour the other facilities like the assisted living. I would recommend their independent living facility. The model rooms that we looked at were under renovation from people that had just moved out. The staff was very friendly, very knowledgeable, very helpful, and very professional. It had a little pond and fountains outside. It's landscaped very good. We went straight to the cottages because the staff had limited time because of her appointments. They only had one dining area for independent living, but we didn't get to see it. They didn't have as many cottages as the other one we visited, but the community was pretty good sized. They had independent living cottages and two high-rise apartments, the nursing facility, a memory center, and an assisted living standalone.

The Fountains at Canterbury didn't offer an A-contract, so if Mom outlives her money, she would have to go to a Medicaid bed. They had an on-site trainer, a workout facility, a pool, activities, really nice restaurants, and lake with a view. The staff was excellent. The dining room was A+ and had an overview to an outdoor patio, overlooking their lake, they had a barbecue area out there, and it was stellar looking. They had a very accommodating staff, so if you missed a mealtime, they would give something for you out of the kitchen. The rooms had high ceilings, were very brightly lit on the inside, and had great views.

The Fountains at Canterbury was very nice. Its spread out over a much bigger area and it's set back from the road. It's a little more inconspicuous. The grounds are really big, and there's an area for memory care folks to walk around outside. The décor is really homey and cozy. The staff member who took me on a tour of the place was wonderful and great. The menu was really impressive because they make it a point to make food for individuals who may not like consistency. It seemed they had a lot of stuff planned and that they keep people busy.

Were now settled at The Fountains at Canterbury. We like the location and it's far away from the business of the city. The shopping is very conveniently located. We just liked it above the others. The food could be better, but it has already improved. There are many activities planned and you can stay busy all the time if you want to. One of the things that's nicest about it is it's all under one roof. We had a Halloween party yesterday, we decorated pumpkins, and an adopted grandchildren program. They have yoga, water walking, water aerobics, and a movie every Friday night. There's just a lot of things going on. The staff in independent living is excellent and very good. It's just very expensive.

My mom went for rehab and skilled nursing at The Fountains at Canterbury for about five or six weeks. Appearance and layout are good. The physical therapy people and doctor are awesome, but the nursing care there sucks at times because there is a lack of attention. Anytime we had a question, they got upset and said we "cared too much." We had some issues throughout the process with the nursing people. The food was pretty good, but they tended to run out of desserts and sometimes didn't have enough food to go around, which surprised me since they know how many people are in there.

My father lives in "The Inn" assisted living at The Fountains at Canterbury. I had lunch with Dad yesterday, he joked with Imelda saying he wanted a T-bone steak and Lobster before placing his lunch order, while he was enjoying some cottage cheese from the salad bar. Imelda quickly returned with Dads plate that had been prepared with a thick moist ham surrounded by broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, a sweet potato and dinner roll. Dad topped is meal off with chocolate ice cream and coffee. Interesting conversations among his dining mates took place regarding the morning’s activities and the upcoming afternoon’s programs and sharing past memories and treasured moments. The best part about dinner conversations is there's no time limit for sharing and laughing, it usually go on for up to two hours and they are the last ones to leave the dining room.

I moved into the independent living section at The Fountains at Canterbury. It's a little expensive, but the food is wonderful, the people are great, and the staff is very responsive. We have two meals. The grounds are very nice and well-kept. Everything's very nice. We had a Western night and it was great. The band was wonderful. We had an outing to the racetrack for horse racing. I would recommend it.

My mother was not cared for well. We were assured they would put their eyes on her every day. That did not happen. When She needed to transition from independent to assisted living, it took them over 3 months and 4 requests before the placement interview occurred. Housekeeping is supposed to clean every two weeks.... every two months is more like it. The screen door and air conditioner were broken for over 2 months despite repeated requests for repair. When we moved Mom to another facility the other residents and dining room staff bid her farewell. There was not one word from Scott or Amy (those in charge) in the 2 days we were there prepping for the move. What a shame. Our attorney is handling all correspondence with them now.

The Fountains was very good, but it’s expensive, and that’s the only problem. The people were very nice, and the food was delicious. The staff has been very good, and the rooms were good as well. They have a schedule of activities, games, and religious meetings.

So far, not what we expected, My mom has been there a few days and we've had to get stern with them to get her a shower. The room is not being cleaned well and neither is her bathroom!! If things don't get better quick, we'll move her. Such a disappointment from our tour, before she got there!

We will be moving in at The Fountains at Canterbury. We chose it for ourselves because it had everything that we wanted and needed. We were really impressed with the people and the community itself. We could have a cottage with one bedroom and a garage. We like their workout facilities and all the activities that they were doing. It’s also close enough to our son and church. We tried their food, and it was very good and nutritious. I am a vegetarian, and they have foods that I could eat. Their dining room and server were very nice.

A++! I cannot say enough about how grateful my family and I were for The Fountains at Canterbury Skilled Rehab. My mother was there after she was hospitalized. The community was clean. The staff were all very friendly and so caring toward my mom. It was amazing to not have to worry about her being away from home. She went in only able to take a couple of steps, very weak and confused. Now she is back at home and better than ever. She is walking around great and put on some much needed weight. A big thanks to the whole team there in The Springs for getting my mom better and back home to her family. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Did not have a great experience with my mother there. They were very understaffed. No females aides available to give her a bath. I helped her shower each day. I even had to clean the bathroom since no staff there did. Sheets were only changed when I specifically asked. I can see how patients would just wither away there - very little interaction unless initiated by the patient

My husband was in The Spri GS for 8 days. His care was shameful . The doctor gave him sleeping pills throughout the day which had not been prescribed previously and denied any changes when questioned. My husband was never bathed, never had his teeth brushed or clothes changed except by me. Had to wait 45 minutes to an hour after requesting pain meds.No air-conditioning for two days and only moved to another room after ceiling tiles collapsed on his room. Aides refused to put air mattress on his bed, which was o lu ordered by doctor because I told him to go back and look at my husband again because he was developing a bed sore. He was left in a wheelchair for and hour and a half waiting to be put in his bed and the room they moved him to a dirty room with feces and urine on the toilet and trash on the floor. Director offered me a beer or glass of wine to calm me down when all I wanted was someone to give a flip about my husband. A mattress was stored in his shower and nurse call button was at the foot of his bed one morning and clipped to a pillow on the floor another morng. I have pictures and intend to fight additional charges for supplies they were supposed to let me know about or they would charge me more for them. No one ever told me anything and they refused to use the ones I supplied. Reporting to the Health Department. If you care about your loved one don't put them here. When I asked for a copy of the documents I signed I was told they don't normally hand those out. ASA a legal document that is required.

I didn't like The Fountains at Canterbury at all. It was too dark and dull. They need to remodel. The staff seemed to be OK.

I have been staying in the rehabilitation area at night with a patient of mine and the staff is rude and snotty. They do not come when the lights are on, i have to go look for someone if my person needs something that i cannot do. And if i do go find them they rudely say "what do you want"? several nights in a row now there are people that yell help over and over and just so the people will get taken care of I go and find one of the people that work here. Very disappointing..

The Fountains was very nice. They had so many areas there. I was looking at the assisted living and Alzheimer's unit at that particular day. The staff was very nice. They were very accommodating. The room was small, but adequate. The part I saw looked older, but the two lady residents I met were pleasant and content. It was well lit. The grounds were beautiful However, I would say this, it did had a urine smell when I walked in. I knew it was difficult to keep that from happening, but I didn't had that in the other places.

I toured The Fountains and the lady who showed me around explained to me that they have care around the clock, and they have a nurse on staff. They have all kinds of stuff: they have water aerobics, teaching demonstrations, yoga, and crochet. I talked to several of the residents and they loved it there. The rooms are twice as big as the one my mother has right now. I haven’t eaten there but you can order off a menu. I would like to take my mom there next time and tour some more.

The Fountains was a nice facility, and my mom liked it. Her room was very big, but more of the people just sat around out in the halls. It made it a little bit more depressing for me, but they treated my mother very nicely. They did a good job. I don't have any complaints about it. They kept going up on the rent. It's just, it got to where she couldn't afford it. Everything was clean. It's just, you could smell urine coming out of some people's rooms. I know older people have that problem sometimes, but that was really the only thing that I was ever concerned about. My mother can't smell, so it didn't bother her. I'm sure it's hard to keep up with that, also.

My dad is at The Fountains at Canterbury. We chose this one because they have a fantastic outdoor space so that my dad is able to have his dog there, and he is able to go outside and walk him. He has some autonomy, even though he is in memory care. The facility itself is small, and there are only a maximum number of 17 residents in there. There is one central living room and one central dining room. It is not a long hallway. It is built more like a house. It doesn't feel clinical, like other facilities do. It is really nice. My dad actually has lots of space in his room. They only had a companion suite available at that time, so he is actually a single person living in a companion suite, so it is fantastic. The staff has just been really wonderful. They are amazing. They're fantastic! My dad doesn't do any of their activities, but they have a personal trainer, which is actually one of the reasons why we chose this facility. Their personal trainer is skilled in geriatric and in trying to get patients to work out. Also they have a gym, a pool, and a church service that my dad goes to once a week. My dad seems to be happy with the food, too. I would absolutely recommend this place to others. It is actually quite affordable for memory care compared to any of the surrounding facilities.

My mom is at the assisted living facility at The Fountains at Canterbury but she tried to run away so we put her on their memory care facility. There are 15 people in their memory care and they have the sweetest, kindest, caring people caring for these residents. I've never seen such nice people in my life. Their rooms are lovely and very nice. The food is excellent and they work with my mom's care. I would recommend the memory care lock down facility to anyone.

When Mom arrived in assisted living, she could not stand or walk and required a 24-hour caregiver. She could not eat or drink on her own and was in a deep state of depression. While I found much advice on medical conditions and treatment, I found virtually nothing on understanding assisted living. Sure, there were some Websites that taught you the basics, like "make sure a nurse is on duty" or "make sure the kitchen is clean". But this is my mom and I wanted far better for her. I wasn't putting her away; I was playing a key role in her recovery.Because of the lessons I learned "and a lot of hard work on the part of my mother" she is doing very well. In fact, we've become very close friends. She walks with a walker; her memories are clear and vibrant. She has a circle of friends and a packed calendar. While a move to assisted living may initially be seen as negative, I know first- hand that with some careful and thoughtful planning, you can make it a huge positive for all concerned. Over the last several years, my relationship with my mother has strengthened. She has become one of my best friends and an integral part of my life.
