"Grace Pointe is just wonderful for independent seniors. They have a newer end that has a choice of electric or gas for the stove and a fireplace with gas logs or gas access. It is gated. They have nice 1, 2, and 3-bedrooms. The 3-bedroom has a 2-car garage. There are 2 guest houses, like if you were near in a 2-bedroom house or a 1-bedroom and you have company coming, you can rent the guest houses. If you have a small animal like a small dog, you can fence the back if their fence is not already there. I looked at one that is already fenced. They have 3 storm cellar areas. One is like a community room, but it is also secure for storms. The staff was very nice. She was fairly new, but she knew her stuff. Somebody who has been there in the job longer came with us just to make sure that she got it covered. I didn’t see anything going on at the time. It was before the Fourth of July, and they were going to have an outdoor festivity with a band and food and all that. They were setting up for that. They do things for the holidays. They have community rooms at each end. They have exercise, and they have crafts. "

"This is a great place for those of us who are independent seniors. The apartments are well built and well maintained. The grounds are lovely as well. The staff feel like family and are constantly finding ways to make it better. The residents are all caring and fun to be with when we attend activities."

"Me and my wife liked the layout. They were very informative. We liked that we had access to the outdoors without having to go to the lobby or each one of the apartments. They looked very clean. The staff was excellent. We were not given a meal. They have no swimming pool, but I think they had a library, an exercise room, and an entertainment room, but we did not see those. It felt homey."

"We have a 2-bedroom, 2-bath apartment at Creekside village. The people are really nice, friendly, and helpful, so we enjoy it very much. We've been here for one week. They have an exercise room, a library, computer room, and a swimming pool. They have a little lake out front with ducks, and the grounds are well-kept. They take care of maintenance problems promptly. They provide maybe three activities a week. The staff is excellent."

"Bradford Village was a very nice place and everyone seemed to be very satisfied. The staff and the apartments were good, and the assisted living was all private rooms. They have outreach, they go to different activities in the city, and they have regular activities during the day. They're very well organized and very well run. They just need additional staffing. "

"Touchmark at Coffee Creek seemed like a bright and happy place. The woman that I met named Susan was super helpful. She had all kinds of information for me. I was able to tour one of the apartments and walk through the entire facility. The community looked fairly well-kept. They were in the middle of changing the carpet out and readying the room that I was seeing for the next occupant. What stood out to me is that their dishwasher was raised. So, when you open the dishwasher, you're not having to reach down to the floor to empty it."

"Me and my wife made a decision to choose Tealridge and we are in the process of making the move. There were so many advantages of the place. One, it's a Christian community and we were pleased with the relationship that it has with the University there which is right next to the campus. We totally enjoyed the people that were there. "

"They were just friendly. We ate at Epworth Villa, and their food was satisfactory. They have bingo and different types of excursions that they take their residents on. "

"Grand Tapestry at Quail Springs is a very nice community. It's beautiful and has a lot of social activities. The staff is really good. My apartment is great. I have hardwood floors in the kitchen, dining room, bathroom, and living room. The bedroom is carpeted. It is handicapped accessible. Grand Tapestry has two pools, gas grills, a great room, and a bistro. It is great. We have five meals. During the week, there are refreshments. On Tuesday night, there is a get-together down in the great room and the bistro, and they serve a meal for that. They also serve meals for various other events. We have a lot of activities. It's a great place to live. For the services that we get, it's very reasonably priced."

"I toured Acclaim Living. First of all, they're just so wonderful. They had a sign welcoming us to come in and do a walk-through with them. I think the girl's name was Olivia, and she was just so fabulous. She showed me the facilities, and they're lovely, and the dining room is lovely. They have so many activities that you can participate in. The rooms are rather nice, but they are like small apartments, and that's not what I'm looking for at this moment. But I'm very happy that I went there to see what's out there. It was great. I loved it. They did have two-bedroom apartments, but the second bedroom was just very small. I know everybody has to downsize, but the closet space, etc. to me is very small. They have trips to different restaurants and shows. They have an arts and crafts room, a movie theater where you can even bring your family. So it's rather lovely. They offer all your meals. You can go down to the restaurant and you can have anything you want until 6 p.m., which is wonderful. I would recommend it to somebody else."

"I toured Mt. Olive Senior Cottages. It was an apartment complex. The place was pretty good. The apartments were spacious. It was easy to get around inside, and the bathrooms were well-equipped. They had a clubhouse."

"We toured Saint Ann Retirement Center. It was a good experience. The rooms were very nice. All the common areas were very nice, too. We met some of the residents there, and they said they were very happy. They go out shopping, and they provide transportation for them. They have a chapel there. My father-in-law had relatives that lived there, so he was familiar with the facility. He felt comfortable there."

"I chose Superbia Retirement Village because I needed a place to be, and I had to be out of my other place. It's very nice. I like it a lot. Right now, my room is small because I'm in just a small efficiency, but it's very nice. My family went in and redid and re-cleaned everything. The staff is very knowledgeable. They have a library, video type thing, two laundromats, solariums, a hair salon, and a nail salon. There are long halls, and you get a lot of walking inside or outside. There are cottages and other places inside as well."
