"Elison Independent Living of Statesman Club was very nice. The staff was great. The apartments were all right. They weren't as large as I had hoped, but they were okay. The facility was well kept up. The dining area was nice. They have all kinds of activities. The reason I rule them out is because I have a dog, and there is a fee to bring a dog in. I realized that their fee was higher than the other places."

"We visited Acclaim Living. I like the personnel. We were greeted when we first got there. My husband said, "Oh, look at this." There was a picture frame with my name on it, and it said, "Welcome. Could you come and take a visit?" It was very personalized. We even arrived early, and she accommodated us because we were almost 30 minutes early. The coordinator, Donna, was the one giving us the information about the facility. I liked her. She's very accommodating. She's a very personable person. They had a lot of outdoor spaces you could go to. I don't smoke, but they accommodate smokers. They are pet-friendly. They have a lot of space where your dogs can go out and tour the grass, and have fun outside. We drove around it, and there was lots of space for her and the other pets, if they had any, that would be guarded against being hurt. It's all fenced in, so you wouldn't have to worry about that, and that was a big plus for me."

"I fell in love with Lyndale Edmond. They had a two-bedroom-two-bath cottage, and it was perfect for what we were looking for. My friends and I are planning on coming back to Lyndale Edmond and scheduling another visit because I think that's what we want to live. There's a beautiful lake in front of the independent living, and so when I look out my front door there's a beautiful view of a lake, and so I loved that. The cottage was well-kept, clean, and very large, and it had all the amenities that we needed. It had a full kitchen. And it was exactly in the price range that we wanted. They were very helpful because they had never run across someone who wanted to move in three people (meaning a couple and a caregiver), and so they're working with us to try to find out how much it would be extra for a third person. They have been very accommodating. I enjoyed the tour that I took. I also toured the inside of the living areas. They have balconies, which is something that I want if I couldn't afford a cottage. They have a swimming pool and a clubhouse that you could use any time. They have a private dining area so that you and your family can go and have private dining if you want to. They have a barber shop and a beauty shop where you can get your nails done. They also have a game room and a pool table. They have ping-pong tables outside in the common areas. I love this place, that's where I want to live."

"Silver Elm Estates was the last one I visited. It's close to my daughter and grandkids. The kids could walk to and from their house, and I was impressed with that. I like the location. I like the apartments. The prices were even a lot better than some of the others. Their dining room was nice. The staff was excellent. I like everything about it. Everyone I met was nice. And their facility was nice, too. If you didn't have a unit outside, their inside units were all attached. You could walk in through the hall, but they all had a back door that led to a courtyard, and that was nice. I like that."

"The Veraden was very clean. The tour was very informative. The lady that gave us the tour was very nice. The only drawback is they're a little bit more expensive than what I can afford. Other than that, it was very nice and very clean. There was no odor. The service seemed very well. They were very friendly and very helpful. The dining area was very clean. Everything was very clean. At the time we were there, they were getting ready to serve dinner, and people were coming down, and all seemed very happy and very friendly with the service they were getting."

"Condo was very clean, floor plan was well thought out, nice size rooms. No food. LaDonna, the person showing the condo was very courteous, helpful, and seemed to be very knowledgeable about the property. She was able to answer all our questions and made us feel very comfortable."

"We will move into The Grove. It was all excellent. They just finished building some new apartments, which we're going into. It's one story. I don't have to go upstairs. There's no one above me. They have a beautiful clubhouse that has a theater room. Everybody is active. They're always playing games, having parties, and having potlucks. We have met so many nice people. So far, everything has been wonderful. The staff has been great. Everything has just been nice, comfortable, and easy to do, and the only hard part is us packing up to move."

"I love living at Southwest Mansions! I have lived here for more than 4 years now and I call it home. The apartments are large with a large closet. It has a full kitchen and washer and dryer. They have a kitchen to serve 3 meals a day and 2 dining areas. The food is good. The staff is great! We have a lot of activities that keep us very busy. We also have a bus for all of the outings we can go on. I would recommend Southwest Mansions for anyone for Independent Living."

"My mom moved into Homestead of Del City. She immediately felt comfortable when she arrived there, and all of the care and the needs that she's needed are promptly given to her. There's a full-time nurse on staff that went through a full assessment of her needs and is managing her well. She has a one-bedroom with a sitting area and a private bathroom with a walk-in shower. They provide exercises, crafting, and bingo. They have a full dining area where they have the social settings. They have a fully decorated lounging area with a big screen TV for them to sit around and watch, and the grounds are beautiful. They have established vegetation and roses and wind chimes."

"I was looking for an independent place to live and I found Autumn House. They have every single thing in the world that I want. You have to be 62 years old, disabled or handicapped for you to get in here. When I moved in here, I have been told that this is probably the best retirement center in Oklahoma City. Physically, it is a well-manicured place. The building is very well-maintained. They have their rules but I agreed with basically all of them, so I don't have any problems with that. I like the freedom that this place gives me. I'm free to come and go. If you're off the grounds or out of your room, they just want a little tag put on your door so they'll know. This place is monitored 24 hours a day. If you don't live here or you don't know anyone that does, you don't get in. Their staff is also excellent. "

"Making the choice to put your loved one in an assisted care facility is terrifying. You worry about the care they'll receive. You worry about their safety. You worry about everything! I can tell you from experience, this place will put your mind at ease. Its a bit expensive, but its worth it. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The manager at the front desk was always so nice. My family member loved the food. My family member didn't choose to go on "field trips" but I would see many residents going out to various places. I hope I can afford to be a resident when I need assisted care!"

"The Carlstone was a very nice facility. It's a three-story building. We liked it. They had a library and a gym. It was probably our second favorite that we liked. It's a relatively new facility. It's only about 3 or 4 years old. The staff was very friendly and informative. They have a restricted entrance. You don't have a key to get in, but you have to know the code to get into the facility, so security is better here than in the other places that we went. They prefer to accept smaller dogs. One of the nice things about Carlstone is that there's a hospital two blocks away, so it's really close. They have a beauty parlor, a barbershop, and a mail room."

"Wesley Village was clean. It was an apartment. It used to be the old Presbyterian Hospital that was built in the 1920s. All of the other rooms have been renovated into more modernized rooms. The staff were congenial. She showed me through the doors, which led to the common area. They kept the architecture on the outside, the hallways, but the inside of the apartments were more modernized."
