I loved Epworth Villa, but the whole campus was very large. It could be overwhelming for my dad if we did assisted living. His own area was small though, and my neighbor's parents go there too. They said it is awesome, but we just prefer a smaller one. They had independent, assisted, memory care, and skilled nursing. They had everything. The facility was bright, but not as bright as the other place we visited. There was light in some of the different rooms, but the hallways were not quite as light. It was clean, and there is a lot of green space. They had a big pond and swans out there. It is a beautiful campus.

We're getting ready to move into Epworth Villa. It's in a state that has the kind of political thinking we like. It's conservative and safe. The apartment is large, well laid out, modern, clean, and very nice. It's spacious for what the intents were. The food was delicious. And what I like about it is that it's an informal food. It's quality food, but it wasn't a formal thing. The staff members are extremely friendly. We have been from Philadelphia for many years, and we're fans of the Eagles, and when we went there, they had a little picture of the Eagles done and hung up over the mantle of the place. So it's very friendly. Everything was well done.

I went to Epworth Villa. It's a very clean place. It's very friendly. We ate there, and the food was good. It's a nice facility. They offer independent living, assisted living, memory care, and extended care, and they all seemed very nice. The only problem with that place is there's a large buy-in, which does not appeal to me.

Epworth Villa Health Services came highly recommended. Our overall experience was very good. They gave us a very nice tour. The facilities were very nice and all up-to-date. They have physical therapy onsite, which was a big plus for me. They have activities for all the residents, including offsite activities. They have a lot of other things for all levels of care from independent living down to long-term care and memory care. I like the step-down approach that they have. The staff has been very helpful. They were very willing to help and took time out of whatever they were doing to show us around. We have friends who have had other relatives out there, so we've been out there. The menu is very diversified. Even those in long-term care, have a choice as to what things they would like to eat rather than just everybody being fed the same thing.

My first choice was Epworth Villa. It has fee-for-service, but you can also buy in. The rooms were absolutely beautiful and very clean. The only problem was it was high priced. My tour was very, very nice. My daughter went with me and the tour director took us to lunch. Before she did, she showed us the two-bedroom apartment that was beautiful and the floor plan was just what I would like. Then she showed us all of the amenities and the indoor pool. I saw the exercise room, which is one of the things that was important to me with all of the equipment. The only thing was you did not have a washer and dryer in the apartment, but it had plenty of washers and dryers down the hall from where the apartment was. Each apartment had a balcony area that could be used very efficiently. They had an outdoor closet just off of the balcony where you could store Christmas decorations and other things that the colder weather wouldn't bother. They have independent living, assisted living, and nursing. I did not see the nursing care. It was in a separate building, but I have been told that it is very, very nice. The staff showed us the assisted living, and it was extremely nice and it was not separated from independent living. They offer meals two times a day in independent living and three meals a day in assisted living. You had three different restaurants that you could go to, to have your meals inside the building, and it's according to what you were wanting. If you wanted just a hamburger and stuff like that, there was one place, and if you wanted salads and entrees, there was another one. There was one that we didn't see because it wasn't opened yet for lunch. The staff was very thorough and she knew everything about it. The place was spic and span and nothing looked worn. Everything was very clean. It also had handrails that you could hold on to when you were walking on every floor.

Epworth Villa was very nice. What I liked the most were the environment and the cafes. The pricing was too high. They had some fabulous apartments, but the pricing was extraordinary. I just walked in.

My mother was in Epworth Villa. She was OK there. She was independent living. She had an apartment and she liked it. However, because her apartment flooded, they moved her to another room, which was one of the guest rooms. She wasn't familiar with it, so she fell and broke her hip. It just got worse for her and everybody. One of the staff members was quite rude to my family after my mother fell. We felt they were responsible for her fall because they had moved her out of her apartment. I just don't think they handled it right, and it just led to a disaster. If she had been in her apartment, she would not have fallen. Two people on the staff gave conflicting stories about how they found her. My mom laid there for a while, and she was unconscious for a little while, and we never got the whole truth. If somebody asked for my advice about going there, I would say forget it. They're very, very expensive, they kept overcharging my mother. She finally ended up in long-term care and they kept messing the bill up. My sister was in charge of her estate, paying the bills and stuff like that and, they kept messing up the bill and overcharging, and she kept having to call and straighten it all out, so I wouldn't recommend it. They have all kinds of activities. They have a restaurant and a cafe. They have a lot of amenities. They play bridge and all kinds of stuff. My mother would play bridge a lot and she had several people that she played with. When she was in long- term care, they had activities for them there. It's a beautiful building, it was a beautiful setting. They were always adding on, reconstructing, and making things better, and they were constantly upgrading.

We visited Epworth Villa in Oklahoma City. It was very good, what they could show us at least. They really didn't show us much, just a part of the facility. It's a really, really nice place, but it's expensive. They showed us a room, it was very nice with a full kitchen, two bathrooms, and two bedrooms. I know they had a lot more to offer than I could see. It's also not for profit, which is good. For amenities they had a pool, a gym, and an exercise place.

We liked the Epworth Villa very much. It's beautiful and well taken care of. It's a wonderful facility. The staff was very professional, friendly, open, and offered excellent suggestions. He was not pushy at all, very informative and responded to all of our questions. We were attracted with the layouts and the amenities and what we could do. We had the choice of making decisions on what flooring to use and what countertops to use. The model rooms were under renovation from people that had just moved out. It's a newer facility. The cottages were newer. We toured the health center and the dining areas. They had three dining areas for independent living, and they had about 40 cottages. It's laid out like a little neighborhood. Each cottage has a safe room, which could stand up to tornados and debris being thrown. It's a walk-in closet, but it was built to be a safe room also. They had an on-site doctor and office on-site that you could see and go in. They also had a pharmacy on-site. The health club was huge with all kinds of equipment. They had a separate room for aerobics and different exercises. They had locker rooms for men and women for their health club. They had a heated indoor pool. They had a pretty good healthy discount, which made the entry fee a lot lower.

Was shocked at the way this place is ran for $11,000 a month. Lots of staff turnover. Short staffed and most don't care. Don't or can't answer phones when you call. Night staff actually turn ringer down so they can't hear it. Have had day staff pick up and then hang up to stop ringing. Mother got pressure sore from not being turned in bed. Was out of meds for three weeks. Don't answer call lights in timely manner. Was already deceased in her room when I arrived and other than outside hospice nurse no staff after supposedly caring for her for 9 months ($100,000) could take time or effort to say anything much less offer condolences. Complained to all levels all the way up to administrator and always excuses but nothing changed.

My parents are moving into Epworth Villa. We toured it last year, we did not tour the dining area, but they have three dining options; one that is like more of a cafe type where you can get sandwiches and stuff, they have another one that is more like it has a menu and daily specials, but it has like other menu options, so it's a sit-down and a more casual dining type thing, and then they have a dining room that's only open three days a week; more of like the white tablecloths, steak, lobster type.

Horrible employees. Hardly any English speaking people or understanding of it. We had to clean the bed my family was using. Also had to change diapers ourselves and clean them up. Our family member almost died due to not checking on them. They laid in soggy diaper all day. Food is horrible. Most of the staff stand around working on puzzles. (No patient with them) Lights on forever before being tended to. There were maybe 2 people who actually cared about my family and they were usually working the same time so the other times patients were not being tended to. I definitely would not recommend Epworth for anyone

My mother is in Epworth Villa. I like the multiple eating facilities on the inside, on-site trainer, pretty elaborate workout facility, lots of activities, and movie theater. It's an A-type contract, which guarantees her a stay there even if she outlives her money. The staff is awesome. My wife's mother stayed there for about seven years, so we're very familiar with them. It's pristine.

Epworth Villa is huge, it's a whole city unto itself, and it's very expensive. The main disadvantage is the distance from the apartment to the dining facility. It's too far, and it's spread out too much and it's too big. There are many activities, the food was very good, but I didn't like the idea of the buy-in. The apartment I looked at was very nice.

Nearly five years ago, my husband and I decided to move to Epworth Villa, a continuing care retirement community, or CCRC, as independent living residents. We love it. We occupy a comfortable cottage on a secure and beautifully landscaped campus. We have just the space we need and no more, including an office for my husband (who still works) and a studio for me. We are free of hassles from household repairs and maintenance to lawn care and housekeeping. We enjoy access to dining services, on-campus banking, a pharmacy, a beauty/barber salon, and a Mercy medical clinic. Local transportation services are available for residents who no longer drive or prefer travelling as a group. Many special activities meet the residents’ unique interests. There is always something to do: weekly movies, bridge games, musical programs, enrichment programs, conversation groups, water aerobics or fun exercising classes. My husband and I enjoy using the fully equipped fitness center. Should I run out of postage stamps or milk, I walk five minutes to the on-campus Market, a convenience store managed and operated by resident volunteers. A wonderful professional staff takes care of residents with kindness and thoughtful attention. There is a great rehabilitation center with skillful therapists, which we have used with positive results. Chaplains and guest ministers offer spiritual guidance. An expert maintenance staff responds quickly to any household need. Late one weekend evening only 2 days before Christmas, we discovered that an in-wall water manifold had ruptured, flooding our guest room. Within minutes of our phone call to the 24-hour-manned front desk, Security showed up, followed by a maintenance crew that shut off the damaged water line, moved the furniture, vacuumed the wet carpeting, and began drying out the room. During the next ten days, despite the Christmas holiday, Epworth personnel repaired everything from bringing in a hazmat team to treat the flooded area for mold, to replacing the carpeting, repainting and repapering walls, and replacing our two bookcases. By the end of the holiday, our guest room and bath were good as new. My husband and I chose to join a CCRC while we were still healthy and physically fit, and we haven’t regretted it. We urge anyone 70 years or older (and their children) to consider a similar retirement option before being forced to it by a serious health issue. And we highly recommend Epworth Villa for those planning to retire in the greater Oklahoma City area.

Epworth Villa is extremely attentive to what mom needs. By far, it’s the best place. It’s more expensive, but they’re wonderful there and can afford to take really good care of Mom. They tailor-made a diet for Mom. It’s about 45 minutes away. She’s on the third floor and has two very large rooms, a living room, a bedroom, a large bathroom, and a big beautiful window. It’s a very nice room that's very well kept up.

My mother has been at Epworth Villa for a month. Her room is fine, and the service is good. She has 3 sessions of rehab everyday, and they encourage her to get stronger. They work with her, and they say she’s making good progress.

My father lived at Epworth Villa independent living for the last three years of his life. Seemed great when he moved in, I was very supportive of his decision. Sadly, Epworth does not live up to their promises. During their "expansion" there was no access to the fitness facilities inside. My father had to either drive, or eventually use a motorized chair outside to get there. OK can be pretty hot, cold, rainy, etc. making this an unacceptable situation. The "expansion" also meant that current residents had to eat in temporary facilities, limited menu, paper plates, and plastic silverware. Hardly what one would expect when paying for a premier facility. There were never enough wait staff in the dining room, I guess nobody wants to work there. When my father was dying in his apartment, with hospice care, no one from Epworth ever came to see how he was doing or if we needed anything. Epworth "cares" about the money, not about the people.

My sister and I looked at Epworth Villa, and we liked it. The staff answered all the questions that we asked. They were friendly, cordial, and showed us around. There was a variety of food, and it was good. The rooms were clean and nice. They clean it several times a week to maintain its appearance. They had activities like bingo, church services, singing group, piano recitals, and all kind of things going on. They had very good security.

Epworth Villa was a nice place. It was upscale, relaxing, and homey. It has large rooms with its own washer and dryer which my grandmother likes. We didn’t try the food, but I heard it’s good, and the sitting areas were really nice. We talked to the salesperson that was going around, and she was really nice. It seems like they had a workout facility and some other accommodations like a pool. It’s our favorite. It was just that you paid more money for it.

Epworth Villa is extremely nice, but it is a very expensive place. The woman I was searching a place for told me to go there. I did go in, and that is the place she wants to go, but there is a humongous difference in prices and facilities. You can't really compare them with other facility because there is not really a comparison. The rooms would be like your own homes or a five star hotel. It is huge with a full kitchen and granite countertops. It has appliances that are better than in my home. It is extremely nice. The place is very elegant, and the employees were friendly. But to be honest, they were probably not as helpful as the other facility. They have a swimming pool and an exercise room. When you walk in the door, there is something like a coffee house where you can get coffee or tea and pastries. They have a little table, and they have sitting areas where you can have a small group. There was like a men's group that were actually meeting and a table with couples playing cards. They have a gym and a clinic like in a doctor's office. They had cafeterias that were set like restaurant style. This place is extremely large, so there were several of them. In addition, they had what is almost like a mall area and another bistro back in there which I couldn't see because it was technically not open yet. The pricing was a little bit ridiculous, but other than the pricing, the place is phenomenal. It is extremely nice and very upscale.

Originally we were very high on Epworth. I'd been acquainted with them over the last several years - all positive. However, we took my parents to visit, they signed the paperwork, put down a deposit for a cottage, picked out all the finishes. Then several weeks into it, I receive a call from one of the marketing people that they had rejected my parents (my parents are in the initial stages of dementia - Alzheimer's and Lewy Body) based on medical records. They never did a personal assessment. We'd been very upfront from the beginning about their diagnoses. We finally received an apology, but they need to complete review and redo their processes. Assess before you have people relying on your promises. My parents had sold their house based on this. We are looking at other locations, but very, very disappointed in this behavior by Epworth

This facility offers all four levels of care. It also offers a variety of apartment and cottage sizes all of which are well-appointed. I have visited and interviewed a number of residents all of which are highly complementary of the facility. The food they serve is excellent. There are numerous activities one can participate in if desired.

Epworth Villa in Oklahoma City is one of the better nursing homes in the area. The facility is extremely clean and well kept, and the decor is far nicer than the standard linoleum floors and plastered walls of most facilities. Patients' rooms are neatly organized, and they are surprisingly spacious. The staff works hard at this facility to see that the patients' needs are met, and the ratio between the staff and the residents is much smaller than usual. This allows for much better care of the residents. There are also a large number of activities that the residents can participate in, and the staff works hard to involve all of the residents in something that they can find stimulating. This facility also has a much better menu than most nursing homes do. The food there resembles something that is home-cooked, rather than the usual unidentifiable fare found in most nursing homes. All in all, this facility does a very good job of taking care of the people who are living there, and the staff works very hard at keeping everything in order. The main concern is for the patients, and every effort is made to ensure their safety and well-being.
