"It was a nice big place. It had a beautiful eating area, and the gathering room was nice. The people were extremely friendly. It's a little bit older building, but it had been remodeled, and it was beautiful inside. The lady who assisted me was excellent and helped me understand everything about the place. The rooms were beautiful. It's a Masonic home, but you don’t have to be a Mason to be a resident."

"These are 24 hour residential care homes in the city of Wichita. Located very conveniently near the Woodlawn and Central area of town, the four Home Plus facilities house up to 8 residents in each. Care is very personalized. These are the homes that Mom and Dad grew up in and in the neighborhoods that are familiar to them. If you haven't checked out the Home Plus option for long term care, you need to pay attention! It is a great alternative to the traditional nursing home care! It is especially appropriate for folks with Alzheimer's because it is so much more intimate than a nursing home. There are both semi and private rooms at each house. Bedrooms are personalized and comfy. Food is prepared by a professional chef and delivered daily to the homes. 2 LPNs rotate throughout the homes daily and the administrator is a Master level RN! These are some dedicated staff! All care is delivered on site. Big plus, you never should have to move your loved one after admission again! All state regs and statutes apply and the homes are surveyed regularly by the KDOA. Not a lot of activity programming. Some of the homes could use some updating and staffing issues are as present here as in any long term care setting. Highly recommended for quality of care. New home opened recently on West side of town in Garden Plain. "

"Prairie Homestead Senior Living is a religious baptist community, but they allow everybody to come in. We were not able to see the apartments because we had to pay the buy-in before we could look at anything, but they've been really nice. Some residents were writing and some were playing cards when we were there. They had a big dining room where they served one meal a day. "

"Presbyterian Manor was good, and they are in the process of redoing it. The main facility is very nice and beautiful. The staff was very helpful. It’s a very big place, and it’s very hard to get oriented. The dining rooms looks very good. "

"We’re going to move to Larksfield at the end of next month. They give you a wonderful tour when you go out; you just have to make a reservation. Right now, they don’t have a lot of rooms in the medium price range. It takes approximately 90 days before you can move in because they go in and repaint, put new carpet in, and do anything else that needs to be done before you move in. They have a gym and a swimming pool and, if I should ever need physical therapy, they have a complete physical therapy department. It has everything we were looking for. It really is a nice facility and ideal for somebody who is looking for something a little more upscale. They have vans and weekly trips to the grocery store or the drugstore or wherever you might need to go. You can sign up for the van, and they take you wherever you need to go. We’re just really looking forward to moving in. They also have a lovely dining room and a little bistro where you can go in and have soups and salads and things like that if you don’t want a full meal. They also have a little grocery store for picking up little things, like bread. "

"We visited Lakepoint Augusta yesterday. They showed us the room, and it's a little apartment, but it's too small. It was very clean, very nice, and had a big recreation area and lunch room. Everyone seemed to be very nice. Our friend has been there for five to six years, and she loves it there. They even threw her a birthday party with cake and ice cream."
