"I absolutely adore all the events that the community puts on. One of the events I look forward to every year is their Christmas event. they have so many festive trees and it gives me something to do. I rarely visit with my family but this event makes me remember the times we would all go look at Christmas lights. Please continue to provide events like this, it has become something I look forward to every year. The staff really makes the community stand out in my mind. Always friendly. Always have smiles on their faces. Most communities I have visited in the past make me sad but this one really shines. "

"These are 24 hour residential care homes in the city of Wichita. Located very conveniently near the Woodlawn and Central area of town, the four Home Plus facilities house up to 8 residents in each. Care is very personalized. These are the homes that Mom and Dad grew up in and in the neighborhoods that are familiar to them. If you haven't checked out the Home Plus option for long term care, you need to pay attention! It is a great alternative to the traditional nursing home care! It is especially appropriate for folks with Alzheimer's because it is so much more intimate than a nursing home. There are both semi and private rooms at each house. Bedrooms are personalized and comfy. Food is prepared by a professional chef and delivered daily to the homes. 2 LPNs rotate throughout the homes daily and the administrator is a Master level RN! These are some dedicated staff! All care is delivered on site. Big plus, you never should have to move your loved one after admission again! All state regs and statutes apply and the homes are surveyed regularly by the KDOA. Not a lot of activity programming. Some of the homes could use some updating and staffing issues are as present here as in any long term care setting. Highly recommended for quality of care. New home opened recently on West side of town in Garden Plain. "

"I have lived at Prairie Homestead for 14 years and am so grateful for this community. We are both neighbors and family to each other. The dining room is always full of friends and congeniality; there are plenty of well-organized activities; we gather in worship once a week; we have fun outings on our buses; all the staff are conscientious, kind and caring. Prairie Homestead is a great place to enjoy my elder years."

"My mom moved to Wichita Presbyterian Manor. I like that one best out of all of the places that I've visited. It was extremely clean, bright, and cheery. It was just a very positive experience every time that I visited. Everybody seemed very happy. Nobody seemed sad, depressed, or anything like that. I'm impressed with it. For the activities, I've only seen a couple of them, and one of them was music. They had somebody that comes in there a couple of times a week, and they do sing-a-long and that sort of thing. The other one was aimed mainly at the women who were having their nails done. It doesn't matter where you're going to put somebody. It's all extremely expensive but if you're comparing it's right there with everybody else as far as memory care costs. I love the staff. They take good care of everyone there and they're always very friendly. You can call them any time of day or night, and they're just right there to answer your questions. I feel very positive about the decision that I made to put mom there. The food is excellent."

"We visited Larksfield Place Assisted Living. They have two different large fields here in town, assisted living and independent living. They're all the same company, but they're two different locations. It's not very old, it's new, it's very luxurious, and it's very nice. It had large rooms, was spacious, and had very nice accommodation. It feels like you're in a French villa. The staff was awesome. The room I saw was more like a 1-bedroom apartment. The dining area was also very nice. I'm excited that my mom was able to get in there. She was on a waiting list and they just actually called me this morning saying that the room would be available next week. They've got a lot more activities than my mom wants to do. They do exercise, do Bible study, go on trips, and they go out to eat. They keep them busy with games and they also have a movie theater. They have a little bit of everything."

"The rooms are well maintained and kept up to a high standard. Nursing staff is exceptionally well trained and very attractive. A member of the maintenance staff is always on in house to answer and maintain to every need. Any and all questions I had was answered in a very timely manner. The facility goes above and beyond my expectations. If you are looking for a safe and well maintained facility,staff and management that responds to your loved one's needs I highly recommend Lake Point of August, Kansas"
