"I liked The Mapleton. I just liked the other one better because it fit my husband's needs more. I liked the person who ran it. I talked to the main director. The staff members were behind the desk, but I did not talk to any of them. The rooms were a bit small, but the cleanliness was fine, and the facility was fine."

"I like the atmosphere at Dove Estates. It seemed like the people there were very happy, and they kept telling me the food was good. The family member that I am helping to move there is a master gardener, and she could work in the courtyard and the raised gardens. That would be very important to her. It was a very pleasant atmosphere, and I think she'll be happy there. I talked to Renee, and she was wonderful to work with. The facility was extremely clean and fresh-smelling. The decor was very light and bright with lots of big windows. I would highly recommend them at this point."

"I absolutely adore all the events that the community puts on. One of the events I look forward to every year is their Christmas event. they have so many festive trees and it gives me something to do. I rarely visit with my family but this event makes me remember the times we would all go look at Christmas lights. Please continue to provide events like this, it has become something I look forward to every year. The staff really makes the community stand out in my mind. Always friendly. Always have smiles on their faces. Most communities I have visited in the past make me sad but this one really shines. "

"I live in Plaza North Senior Residences and I like that you have to have a key to get in, so you can't just walk inside. The apartments are nice, but it's just they're too close to each other. I wanted something bigger. They have washer and dryer facilities, and in front of my apartment building is a center that has an exercise room that I go to, and you can participate in games and stuff like that. They don't have dining services because you can do your own cooking in your own kitchen."

"This is independent living apartments in the north central part of the city. Mennonite Housing built and manages this complex and they do a great job. The apartments are spacious and clean and the on-site manager keeps an eye on the residents. There is a library with computers, a community room, scheduled activities and a nicely landscaped courtyard. Great opportunities for social connections. See lots of lunches and group walkers. Rent is very reasonable. Wait list for apartment probable. "

"I toured Regal Plaza. The property was well kept up. The staff was attentive and made you feel more comfortable. The rooms have their own kitchen. They have a library, exercise room, and computer room."

"The apartments at Ascension Living Via Christi Village Georgetown were very nice sized. It had a living room/dining room combination, and then it had a separate kitchen. The bedroom was separate. So, it felt like a nice apartment. You had a lot of space. The kitchen was fully equipped, even had a dishwasher. The staff members were all very, very nice to visit with. They had meal plans. So, you could eat there or you could cook in your own apartment. There was a hospital practically within a couple of blocks."

"I have lived at Prairie Homestead for 14 years and am so grateful for this community. We are both neighbors and family to each other. The dining room is always full of friends and congeniality; there are plenty of well-organized activities; we gather in worship once a week; we have fun outings on our buses; all the staff are conscientious, kind and caring. Prairie Homestead is a great place to enjoy my elder years."

"Eternal thanks to Roxanne and her staff at Charlotte Bethel House for caring for mom until her final days. Roxanne closely monitored mom and how her body was responding to prescribed medications. She advocated for quality care and consulted with her doctors to ensure that mom was getting the best balance of medication. Mom was able to maintain dignity as her caregivers provided consistent, loving attention to her needs although her physical strength and mental health were declining. Mom could be resistant at times, but she was always treated with the utmost respect. Roxanne understood that mom came from a generation when elders were never called by their first name, so she always addressed her as Ms. ____. She would say, “Now , Ms. ___ , I’m gonna need you to let these ladies help you. Stop fighting with them because that haven’t done nothing but be nice and try to help you. You can’t try to do everything by yourself anymore, so let them do their job and help you.” Mom jokingly called Roxanne “The Warden,” because she knew that Roxanne was in charge now – not her. We all laughed when we saw that mom had finally met her match and couldn’t just walk over Roxanne. Our family could not have asked for anything more."

"This senior focused complex is in the busy northeast section of the city. It is a well-crafted garden apartment community that offers secure and convenient independent living for seniors. This is not resort style living, but each apartment is spacious and well maintained. The grounds are kept up and nicely landscaped. I would not recommend for those prone to wander due to the proximity of busy intersection of Woodlawn and 21st St. Rent is on a sliding fee scale. Many of the residents have other services in place. Site coordinator helps with social activity and getting information on programs and services out to the residents. There is often a wait list. Would not recommend for folks requiring heavy care or oversight.. "

"My mom moved to Wichita Presbyterian Manor. I like that one best out of all of the places that I've visited. It was extremely clean, bright, and cheery. It was just a very positive experience every time that I visited. Everybody seemed very happy. Nobody seemed sad, depressed, or anything like that. I'm impressed with it. For the activities, I've only seen a couple of them, and one of them was music. They had somebody that comes in there a couple of times a week, and they do sing-a-long and that sort of thing. The other one was aimed mainly at the women who were having their nails done. It doesn't matter where you're going to put somebody. It's all extremely expensive but if you're comparing it's right there with everybody else as far as memory care costs. I love the staff. They take good care of everyone there and they're always very friendly. You can call them any time of day or night, and they're just right there to answer your questions. I feel very positive about the decision that I made to put mom there. The food is excellent."

"We visited Larksfield Place Assisted Living. They have two different large fields here in town, assisted living and independent living. They're all the same company, but they're two different locations. It's not very old, it's new, it's very luxurious, and it's very nice. It had large rooms, was spacious, and had very nice accommodation. It feels like you're in a French villa. The staff was awesome. The room I saw was more like a 1-bedroom apartment. The dining area was also very nice. I'm excited that my mom was able to get in there. She was on a waiting list and they just actually called me this morning saying that the room would be available next week. They've got a lot more activities than my mom wants to do. They do exercise, do Bible study, go on trips, and they go out to eat. They keep them busy with games and they also have a movie theater. They have a little bit of everything."

"I chose Homestead Estates of Wichita. It's great. We like the rooms and the aesthetics of the whole layout of the building. It's really good. The staff was great, good people. They cook all your food. They do your laundry and they clean your room. They have a library, courtyard, and a little movie theater. They've got everything you need."
