The Rushwood Senior Living looks like it's well put together. They have some villas up on top of the hill, and they have two-car garages attached to them. I'm thinking those are around 5 to 6 thousand dollars, and that was one of those things that even if you could afford that, you get up there, and then you have to walk about 75 yards down a hill to get to the cafeteria in the main building. The main building was very good. They fed us, and it was very good. The staff members were very accommodating, and they made us feel right at home. The cafeteria was set up mostly like a restaurant type thing, but there weren't a whole lot of people there. The facility looks very well taken care of. It's a new facility. It almost looks like a resort lodge.

The room my dad was in had a weird smell coming from shower drain. Food was subpar Staff has high turn over and they use more agency employees then other memory care facilities in Wichita.

I toured The Rushwood Senior Living. The grounds are beautiful. They have an outdoor shuffleboard and a pool table. It was very nice. They have big, wide hallways. You could run four wheelchairs side by side down to it. The staff was tremendous. They invited us back for brunch one day, and it was very nice. The dining area looked like a nice restaurant. Everything was great. It was just out of our price range.

We were very impressed with the shared room at The Rushwood Senior Living. They have their own passkey to get into to the room. If they forget their key or misplace their key, the nurses' aides will help get them back in their room. It was a very nice facility. The staff was fantastic. When we took our sister, they were very caring because they could tell that she was not happy to be there. They were wonderful. In fact, we really thought that's where we were going to put her. They were very informative. What I liked is that they had little station areas. If they were a gardener, they had a little station where they could garden. This is all inside the memory care. If it was a male and he wanted to do tool stuff, they had a station where they could do that. It was great. They had a separate place if they wanted to do puzzles, just different little activities for them to do in that memory area. I liked it. I don't know why my sister didn't like it. It is my favorite.

Rushwood Senior Living was the best place I toured. I like everything about it. The staff was excellent. The cleanliness was excellent. I only looked at two one-bedroom apartments. The size of the rooms were adequate. The size of the closet was large. They had a small kitchenette when you walked in, and then you continued on into the living room, and then one bedroom was to the right and one was to the left. There was a lot of cupboard space in the kitchen, but not too much in the bathroom. They also had a lot of storage space in the living room. The atmosphere was comfortable and homey.
