"I will be moving into Garden Villas of Lenexa. They're really wonderful. They're very caring, kind, and thorough. It's beautiful and they seemed to have their act together. They were more affordable than a lot of the other places. I was in a wheelchair and they took me around and showed me everything. They took a lot of time with me. They even sent their director of nurses out to my house to talk to me about my needs and what they can do to meet my needs. I've just been very impressed with them. I will have an apartment and it's very beautiful. It's very clean, and there's absolutely no odor. They must really stay on top of that. They have a lot to offer. They have a beauty salon, an indoor swimming pool, and an ice cream parlor. It's really a nice place. They provide three meals with about ten choices in each meal."

"My mom has been in memory care (Magnolia Trails) for almost 2 years. I toured almost every facility in Kansas City and Ashton by far exceeded expectations. The rooms are like small apartments and the color scheme makes them very homey. The staff is amazing to not only my mom, but to me also. They have been my support through every step of the way. They are never to busy to answer questions or just to talk if I'm upset. The food is remarkable! There is a daily menu and also an all the time menu plus snacks throughout the day. There are so many activities and Kayla the activities director is amazing! She takes them on field trips, does nails, goes on walks, makes every holiday super special and even does things for football days. The truth is, nobody will ever treat your parents how you do, but the love the staff has is amazing. My mom has her dignity at all times, she is fed, she has her hair done in cute styles every day, she gets her nails painted, she plays games and does artwork, she smiles and laughs and when she is sundowning they know what to do and handle it with the utmost respect. I can't imagine taking this journey anywhere else. Thank you all of the staff for everything you do!"

"The staff seemed very nice, friendly, and helpful. The rooms and apartments were fine, updated, and spacious. I have not tried the food, but they were having a meal when I was there, and it smelled delicious and looked really nice. The dining was family style -- very inviting for the people -- and it looks like a nice place. They have exercise, bingo, a little general store, plenty of reading, and TV. I would rate it a 4 only because they need to redo the parking lot; it doesn’t look very good. "

"I guess the question should be, what can't I say about the Oxford Grand. My wife's aunt came here in June of 2018. She knew some of staff from a previous assisted living facility she had been in and they were as excited to see her as she was them. The staff included our family in their activities when ever we where their visiting her. The activities were varied and engaging, meant to keep the residents active and happy. She always had a smile on her face and always treated the staff with respect and they loved her for it. ( That goes a long way in this industry) She went into Hospice at the Oxford in April of 2019 when her cancer was declared terminal. The staff bent over backward to take care of her. It was challenging to watch her deteriorate and I often saw the staff come out of her room with tears in their eyes. I heartily endorse the Oxford Grand. The residents are the #1 priority and it shows. There is some turn over in the staff but that is the nature of the industry. It is not their fault. When that happens I have seen the administration staff helping out in the kitchen while the CNA's take care of the residents. During snow storms, the staff stays at the Oxford to take care of the patients and cover the short staff from others being told to stay home. Respect the staff and they will respect you. Smile at them and treat them as family, because they become part of your larger family. We love the Oxford Grand."

"Trustwell Living of Overland Park was all locked down, even the assisted living part was locked down. It was freshly painted and fresh new furniture, and just had a nice vibe about it. I had a great time there. The admissions director, whatever her title is, was excellent. She even texted me later and gave me her cell phone number if I had any more questions about anything. She listened well and was compassionate and resourceful. The tour was good. The exterior was fine, and the interior was nice, too. Everybody that I met was very friendly. They had a lot of long-term employees who had been there for years, and I appreciated that. They had their own nursing staff. They don't use contract CNAs from an agency."

"My uncle is in Armour Oaks Senior Living. They've been very accommodating and clean. He's safe there. He gets three full meals, so it's everything we expected. He loves the food. His apartment is very nice and clean and they come and clean once a week. They have bingo, entertainment, and movie night. He doesn't participate much in the activities, but they're trying to get him more involved in that. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. They will contact you back if you don't get them on the phone and they have taken care of everything we asked them to do. They have an exercise room and places where they sit outside."

"My sister is very comfortable in Our Lady of Mercy Country Home. I like it because the people there are very friendly and the cleanliness is good. It's a Catholic facility and it has a chapel as well as a daily mass. The staff is excellent, very caring, and they also have excellent food. They have a lot of activities and she's enjoying them."

"I toured The Village at Olathe. The people who toured me around were very, very nice. I didn't particularly like the location, but it wasn't anything specific to where it was. I didn't like independent living, and the parking situation was not the best. The rooms were a little small, but they were nice. One thing that it did not have much of was closet space. The closet space was minimal. However, their dining area was nice and beautiful, and they have a nice library, a game room, an exercise room, and all that. That was all OK. It's just the location, and the parking situation wasn't good at all."

"The visit at The Groves was OK. It was a little bit sad because the people there have bodies that may be giving way, but they still know a lot of stuff. The staff does a lot better than the one I used to work at. The workers there used to abuse the patients. They don't do that here at the Groves. They like to read and have games and stuff like that. They also like to talk. I didn't eat there because I don't live too far. The place is really clean, and it is pretty nice. "

"I visited. The tour was fine. It was a nice place, there's lot of space, and lots of activities. They seem nice. They informed me about rates, the menus that they have each day, what was on the menu that day, things coming up, and activities. I saw 3 rooms, it looks fine. It was just a brief time there. The rooms, they all had kitchenettes, and pretty good space."

"My husband is a resident of Twin Oaks Assisted Living for two weeks now. It's been excellent. The meals are great. There is a lot of staff that interact with the residents. They keep track of the medications. The director is excellent. They make sure that the residents' needs are met. His room is very comfortable. There are a lot of windows, which is nice because it is not dark. It's very light and very bright inside. It's got a little kitchenette, even though they don't cook because they have meals. They have a microwave, a cable TV, and a landline if they want a phone. It's very spacious. It also has a large bathroom, and that to me is a big plus. His room is more like a studio apartment, but they have some that have separate bedrooms. We've only been there for two weeks, but what I've noticed, they have an art person that comes in and they do some kind of art activities. My husband has not participated in any of these yet, but then they have people that come in and talk about anything. There was a colonel there, so he spoke about his military background, which is nice. They have three different outside gardens, and they have an exercise room. It's not a big exercise thing, but they have maybe two or three machines to exercise the legs and stuff. They have a library, not large, but it is enough, which is nice. They have hairdressing, and in fact, he got his hair cut there. Another nice feature that they have is they have a little area with coffee, hot chocolate, snacks, and some fruits. It is in one little area all day whenever you wanted it, which is what they needed, which is very nice, too. They have a couple of fireplaces because older people seem to get cold a lot, so it is nice, too. The prices are all comparable in the area because we've checked several of them and they're all about the same. To someone else that's fine, but it was my highest reach."

"When I went to tour the Homestead of Leavenworth, I thought it was a nice place. But when I went back to fill out an application, the director was very rude. The other staff members were nice, though. The rooms were nice. The living atmosphere was nice and clean. There was a salon, a workout room, and laundry services. The layout was easy to get around."
