"Trustwell Living at Mission Springs was very nice. It was just further away from where I lived and a little bit more expensive and a little bit more restrictive for what my mom was needing at the time. The staff was super friendly and very caring. The size of the rooms was a little smaller than where she ended up, but the overall facility was spacious."

"We are on the waiting list for Mission Chateau. We chose them because the people we met and talked to, including the person who showed us around and gave us the tour was spectacular, and that was a very important reason. And the second major reason was the financial model that was used, there was no large buy-in upfront. The person who toured us was friendly, professional, thorough, and a good listener. The place had the things we were looking for. I can't do much physically anymore except swim, and it does have a swimming facility. There are all sorts of activities, clubs, and gatherings that we can choose to get involved in if we want to."

"It's quiet there at Brookdale Wornall Place, even though it's kind of in a busy area. It doesn't have anything behind it. There are fields there. Even though you're not very far off the road, it still feels like you're out in the country. The room has a small kitchen and a refrigerator. We looked at a couple of one-bedrooms. The staff who toured me around was very knowledgeable. It seems like he has been in the business for several years. He was very patient. I had my dog with me, and he took that well, too. The place was clean. I didn't smell anything. They got friendly staff. When you walk in, they got a large entryway. You don't have to walk up any stairs or anything. I noticed that they got ramps. We took the elevator, and we took the stairway, too. They have an underground, which was nice."

"My Mom spent her last 10 months at Carroll Park. While the facility is older with smaller double rooms, the staff makes it special. The staff does not sit around looking at their cell phones (a significant problem I had seen at other facilities), and were very responsive and compassionate to the residents. The family ownership and dedicated staff created a more comfortable and homelike feeling. They reached out and made my Mom feel loved and special. It was as good of a stay as could be hoped for under not good circumstances."

"Sunrise of Leawood was excellent. I very much liked it. The staff was extremely friendly, informative, answered all my questions, and gave a very good tour. The only thing I didn't like was there's no door between the bedroom and the rest of the apartment. I would like to have a bedroom with a door to close everything off. It also looked like it was in a very nice neighborhood. Lunch was very nice, and the chef sat with us and told us that he would prepare whatever we want. "

"I liked that Trustwell Living of Overland Park had outdoor spaces and it was clean. There wasn't anything that I saw that I didn't like. The staff was friendly and it looked like they had activities. The staff member answered all my questions and she showed me everywhere I wanted to see. They also had a spa room. I didn't try the food there. They told me I could, but we didn't have time. What they had was good, but it wasn't as much as other places. They had an outdoor space for gardening and for activities. They had activities going on while I was there, and there were quite a few people participating. It's near restaurants, shopping, pharmacies, and a walking trail."

"My sister is in The Grand Royale's assisted living facility in Gladstone for respite care. They're helping her to get rehabilitated. They're doing physical therapy, occupational therapy, and giving her medicines. The staff members are excellent. Her living space is very spacious. The facility itself is very clean, and it's very nice. I really don't participate in the activities, and my sister doesn't need them right now, but I do know that they have them. I only know what they are charging my sister because it's daily for respite care, and I would say that it's pretty fair."

"Move our mom in a couple of months ago . At 97 she moves well but poor memory had us concerned about living on her own. She is very happy here and so far so are we . She’s loves her room and meals and the caregivers have been great ."

"I was very impressed with Our Lady of Mercy Country Home. It's very nice and clean. It had a great and very caring atmosphere. The rep that showed us around was very, very knowledgeable and we're very impressed with the facility. The rooms were very nice. I think most of those places promote assisted living or permanent living. I don't think they're in the business of doing respite care. Sometimes I think there needs to be more attention on that, but I was very impressed with the lady that toured me around."

"Brookdale Overland Park was very nice. The staff were very friendly. They were doing bingos, crafts, and exercises when we visited. "

"We toured The Princeton Senior Living. It was very clean. My best friend's parents live there. They don't have quite as many options for extracurricular activities as the other place, but they have community rooms where families can gather. The main thing about Princeton is that they have a base rate, and there are so many additional services that they add on to residents. I have eaten at the facility before with my friend, and the food was exceptional. We toured the independent living, and then we toured the assisted living and memory care. The staff was very nice. Compared to the other tours, the person who gave us the tour did not provide a lot of detail, except if we asked them a specific question. It was one of the last tours we took, and so we knew a lot of the questions to ask, but if that had been like one of our first tours, we probably would have missed out on some stuff because we wouldn't have known what to ask. He let us ask our questions. He didn't really present all of the great things about Princeton and the reason why we should consider them. It wasn't like a village or a neighborhood. This is just a building, and everybody lives in the building."

"I toured The Madison Senior Living. It's very close to where I live, only ten minutes south of here. With my medical conditions and doctor's appointments, I can stay in the same neighborhood because I do weekly blood work. I'm in the clinic every five weeks, but it's in an unknown area. The staff is excellent. I've been there twice for brunch, the food is great, and the living quarters are a brand-new facility. It's only been open for four years, but I've talked to lots of staff and members who have lived there short term and long term, and they all love it. They all don't have anything bad to say about it. They have an indoor heated pool that I can use because I have arthritis and can do exercises in the pool that help me. All around, it's just a good fit for me. I just like it. It's a very clean facility. I've toured 2 or 3 different types of apartments there, and they're all beautiful, and gorgeous. It's spotless and has a very welcoming atmosphere. All the tenants I talked to are very friendly and say, 'I hope you come and join us.' They have the same basic amenities as most of the other places. They have shuttles to take you to appointments; if you don't like it, they have all scheduled shopping trips. They have a library, a game room, and a TV room. There are all kinds of things and activities to do, but my energy level is pretty low most of the time."

"I toured The Parkway Senior Living. The thing I liked the best was the one-on-one care that they gave the memory patients. They catered to what each person needed. The building was extremely clean, very light, and bright. Wide walkways. They had a back garden which was a very nice place for the residents to go out and get to enjoy the sunshine and relax outside."
