"My mom has moved into Trustwell Living at Mission Springs. I like that the price is reasonable. The place is very clean. There aren't that many RNs, but there are a lot of LPNs that can help people around there. And the food, she says, is very good. She is very picky about food, but she is saying that it's good. They have a lot of different things that they do. They have card games and bingo. Today they're taking them out to a barbecue place for lunch. So they get out there every once in a while, too. And if it's within 10 miles, they will transport my mom to the doctor's, too. "

"We are on the waiting list for Mission Chateau. We chose them because the people we met and talked to, including the person who showed us around and gave us the tour was spectacular, and that was a very important reason. And the second major reason was the financial model that was used, there was no large buy-in upfront. The person who toured us was friendly, professional, thorough, and a good listener. The place had the things we were looking for. I can't do much physically anymore except swim, and it does have a swimming facility. There are all sorts of activities, clubs, and gatherings that we can choose to get involved in if we want to."

"I don't know that there was anything better than The Village at Carroll Park. It was always clean. Dad had been in a rehab once before and every time we went in there, it just smelled. I have never met a thing that smelled in here. I mean if there was smell, they took care of it immediately. They were always making improvements. My dad's room was very adequate too. He had a single room with his own sink and closet. The staff was pretty good. The residents were always happy there. They really kept the residents clean. They also took really good care of my dad. He had Alzheimer's and he was always clean and bathed. They were changing him constantly. When he got sick, they were very attentive. They took care of him right away. Usually, they have a turnover but the ones that were there the longest all seemed to love my dad. The owners really spend some time with the residents too. One time, I actually saw Mr. Carroll trimmed my dad's toenails. Joe, his son came too and spent time with the residents. They really keep an eye on the staff. They were there a lot so things don't go off behind their back. We never ate the food there but we would take pizza to dad as a treat on Sunday afternoon. They provided a room for us to have a private time with him. I did show up a time or two when they were having a special party and I've seen some of the meals. They always looked appetizing and smelled good. I thought it was a great value for what they did to Dad."

"What I like best about Trustwell Living of Overland Park is that they are very attentive and look after their residents. They're really good. What I like least so far is that they've had a lot of changes in the administration in the three weeks that my mother has been there, but they kept running and taking care of the residents like nothing happened. It was just a little disconcerting being new and that there were some big changes, but change happens. I've tasted the food several times. The food is not home-cooked, but they're doing their best. I love the staff. It's clean. I have seen a lot of activities. They do pub quizzes and the residents seem to like that, even my mother goes out for that one. They play games almost every day. I see people out with the director. Her name is Linda and she's great. Absolutely wonderful. They get a lot and they pay a lot, but they're taking really good care of them so far."

"I was very impressed with Our Lady of Mercy Country Home. It's very nice and clean. It had a great and very caring atmosphere. The rep that showed us around was very, very knowledgeable and we're very impressed with the facility. The rooms were very nice. I think most of those places promote assisted living or permanent living. I don't think they're in the business of doing respite care. Sometimes I think there needs to be more attention on that, but I was very impressed with the lady that toured me around."

"I toured The Madison Senior Living. It's very close to where I live, only ten minutes south of here. With my medical conditions and doctor's appointments, I can stay in the same neighborhood because I do weekly blood work. I'm in the clinic every five weeks, but it's in an unknown area. The staff is excellent. I've been there twice for brunch, the food is great, and the living quarters are a brand-new facility. It's only been open for four years, but I've talked to lots of staff and members who have lived there short term and long term, and they all love it. They all don't have anything bad to say about it. They have an indoor heated pool that I can use because I have arthritis and can do exercises in the pool that help me. All around, it's just a good fit for me. I just like it. It's a very clean facility. I've toured 2 or 3 different types of apartments there, and they're all beautiful, and gorgeous. It's spotless and has a very welcoming atmosphere. All the tenants I talked to are very friendly and say, 'I hope you come and join us.' They have the same basic amenities as most of the other places. They have shuttles to take you to appointments; if you don't like it, they have all scheduled shopping trips. They have a library, a game room, and a TV room. There are all kinds of things and activities to do, but my energy level is pretty low most of the time."

"I toured The Parkway Senior Living. The thing I liked the best was the one-on-one care that they gave the memory patients. They catered to what each person needed. The building was extremely clean, very light, and bright. Wide walkways. They had a back garden which was a very nice place for the residents to go out and get to enjoy the sunshine and relax outside."

"My Grandma was at Brookdale Rosehill for a couple of weeks. The nursing staff was friendly. The facility is beautiful. Our social worker was extremely helpful. The physical therapy got her to work on her good leg. I would gladly recommend this facility to anyone. "
