"We toured Colonial Village. They have all levels of care. It is big, nice and open. It meets all the criteria. The problem is that the dining room is closed in the evening. They don't cook dinners. They cook two meals, breakfast, and lunch. One of the reasons we are getting out of our house is because my wife is incapable of cooking. They met all the criteria except that they don't have meals in the evening, so we were quite disappointed. The rooms are nice and big. They have one- and two-bedrooms. They have one-and-a-half baths and two baths. They have a lot of variety of things. They have all the usual activities, and those rooms were nice and big, too. We went around with the staff, Jill, and she was extremely nice."

"We loved Silvercrest at Deer Creek Retirement Community, it is just that Mom wanted to stay where she was. Their level of activities is a 10. There was so much that they had to offer. They have a movie room, they have a place for worship, they have a bingo room, and they have a library. They have everything. If my mom was capable of getting to all those rooms, it would be great. They have a salon, they have an eye doctor and they have somebody that takes care of their toenails. They have a lot of things."

"At the request of a relative who was considering Aberdeen Village, my sister and I dropped in to see the facility. My first impression was that this had to be one of the nicest facilities I had ever visited. The staff member who met us was very graciously showed us around even though we did not have an appointment. Every area, rooms, common areas, dining room, pool were clean and beautifully decorated. There were many resident activities which seemed would fit everyones tastes. As we were getting into our car in the parking lot a current residents relative parked next to us and expressed how happy her mother was living at Aberdeen Village. To me, the was the best recommendation of all! I felt comfortable that this facility is part of a well established network of care facilites with a good reputation. "

"Tallgrass Creek Senior Living Community is very modern, up-to-date, very clean, and beautiful. The staff is wonderful, very professional, and very nice. They have a lot of exercises. They probably have 10 different groups every day for physical activity based on whatever your abilities are. They have a Parkinson's group, too, that meets twice a week, and that is really good for my mom. Everything is limited because of COVID, so they don't have everything right now, but they have small group meetings, Bible studies, and church groups."

"This facility has been great each time I visit my grandmother. I went to visit her for her birthday and they were very accommodating. They allowed us to have a special lunch for her in the private dining room and also had a birthday celebration where we were able to bring cake for her and all of her friends at the facility. The employees are very friendly and remember your names even when you don't visit that often. "

"Kingswood was great. It was just too large for my mother; in fact, we got lost in the dining hall. But the facility had everything. The staff was great and they did follow protocols. It was nice, clean, and didn't smell, but you must have some money to get in there. The residents can order from the menu in the bistro or they can have a buffet. I think they have a $900 monthly food allotment. They have a swimming pool, a workout area, a chapel, a room where you can bring your family in to sit and talk, and a small library. They were doing sit-down and pool aerobics when I went there. My mother will not be able to get around well because there are just so many different wings. They also have independent living somewhere on the outside part of it, so she would get lost. Randy did a fantastic job during the tour. He broke down the prices and everything that I would need to get in there. It's an older facility, but they did a good job of keeping it up. The apartments that he took me into were very nice. The assisted living residents always had a person with them, so the staff takes care of them."

"We toured The Fairways of Ironhorse. The place is fabulous. It's nice and clean and it's right on the golf course. We had lunch there, which was good. Their pricing structure was a little different, but it is doable. They have one-bedrooms and two-bedroom-two-baths. They're quite long rooms. They have an underground garage, but they charge you for it for a hundred bucks a month. They have a washer and a dryer in the unit. It's very impressive. However, they don't have assisted living. The staff who assisted us, his name is John, and he was super nice. He invited us to lunch, and we had lunch there. For amenities, they had everything. They had transportation to shopping and to doctor's visits. They also had group activities."

"We're on a waitlist for Cedar Lake Village. What we both liked best was the villas, they made you feel like you were just moving to a smaller home. And it wasn't like you were living in a retirement community but you had the facilities right there available to you if you needed them. The atmosphere was very calm and inviting. We took our dog on a leash inside with us, and we felt like we had been invited into someone's home, but it wasn't a home."

"My mom was at Saint Luke's Bishop Spencer Place for 28 days. She was there for rehab and as far as rehab is concerned, it was effective. The food was also good. They were kind of short-staffed, though. To improve, I think they need to get a staff that's older because it seems like the younger staff is kind of just there to get a paycheck."
