I'm in a facility in Silvercrest at Deer Creek Senior Living where I live independently, but they give me some assisted living benefits. For example, I get three meals a day. The food is amazing; the food is even better than Doordash. I had to downsize from my large apartment to a large studio here, but the studio comes with housekeeping every two weeks. Someone comes in to wash your bedding every week, concierge, transportation to and from doctors' appointments where you're taken to and from, and there are doctors and nurses on staff. It's pricey, but it's so worth it. There are still activities like bingo. This place checks every person's temperature before they come into the building, and I had to have a COVID check come back negative before I could move in. This is more money than I've ever paid for in my life; it's expensive, but there are places much more expensive than this one because we looked at them.

I toured and the staff was wonderful to me they treated me like I was family, the apartments was clean and nice, I had lunch while I was there, and the food was amazing, they had done a lot of work on the common areas which made this community beautiful. I was very impressed to say the leased.

I like the atmosphere in Silvercrest at Deer Creek Retirement Community. It's always well-decorated for the holidays, and there are a lot of people around. Meals are good. The activities are very nice. They have studios, one bedrooms, and two bedrooms, but I can't afford it.

I didn't like Silvercrest at Deer Creek Retirement Community very much. The staff who assisted me with the tour was fine, but she could have been more engaging and accommodating. I didn't like the building, and the layout was not good. The common areas were not welcoming and they were not large enough for the facility. Some people were sitting by the parking lot because there was not that much common area inside. It just didn't give me a sense of community.

My mom will move into Silvercrest at Deer Creek Retirement Community. I like that the staff and the people there were very nice, considerate, and outgoing. The apartments were nice and there were lots of fun activities. They go shopping and they go to the grocery store. They have games, happy hour, and stuff like that. The apartments are big and roomy. The staff was very warm and caring about our needs and was full of concern for my mom. She was reassuring. I've tried their food and it was very good. There's a lot on the menu sheet of a variety of things to choose from. The atmosphere was homey, very warm, and very caring.

We loved Silvercrest at Deer Creek Retirement Community, it is just that Mom wanted to stay where she was. Their level of activities is a 10. There was so much that they had to offer. They have a movie room, they have a place for worship, they have a bingo room, and they have a library. They have everything. If my mom was capable of getting to all those rooms, it would be great. They have a salon, they have an eye doctor and they have somebody that takes care of their toenails. They have a lot of things.

I toured Silvercrest at Deer Creek Retirement Community. What I liked best was that they had a room large enough that my aunt and my mother could live together. I liked that the room cost was very reasonable. I liked that they had a point system for their care versus throwing everybody into a pool of level one, level two, level three. Those levels are very ambiguous, whereas, at Silvercrest, it was pretty explicit. So I appreciate that very much, and I also know how much I'm paying per point, another big benefit. The place or the building itself, the outside was very lovely. It seemed all clean. There was nice landscaping in the front where the apartments I looked at, there were large windows, and they were looking out to nature. My mom and my aunt are very much into having green space. They love to watch animals and birds. So that was a very big thing to me. In the hallways, I think they had done some painting, and there wasn't a lot of artwork or anything on the walls, it was very sporadic, and I asked the person who was showing us around, I said, "Why is there nothing on the walls? " And as soon as I said that and I came across a picture, and she told me the reason why, she said, " Our maintenance just hasn't gotten it back up." And then I said to her and I was serious, but I said it nicely. I said, " Well, you just let the maintenance know that this customer or this person who's walking through the building noticed, and you need to put things back up on the walls. " People don't want to look at a blank wall, I don't think". I only spoke with one person, but she has been very accommodating. I think the first time I talked to her was last Wednesday. Since then, I have talked to her at least six times. Any time I have called and left a message, she's called me right back. She has answered all my questions. She has explained things very thoroughly. It's just been very interactive.

Silvercrest at Deer Creek was our number one favorite. The people who worked there were really nice. The building was beautiful. They were getting ready to remodel it, even though it didn't look like it needed remodeling. Everything looked to be in very good repair. The lady that toured us around was fabulous. They had some unique things, like what they call an ambassador program. People who are moving in there will be paired up with somebody who's already there to be their friend, answer their questions, and show them around. We didn't hear anything like that anywhere else. They had a really nice movie theater. They also had a big wall that had pictures of all the people who live there who were veterans, and some interesting stories about those people. It was very impressive.

We saw Silvercrest at Deer Creek. We checked if they participate in Medicaid if you have to go to assisted living and they didn't, but the place was awesome. We liked the rooms. The personnel were just outstanding. They were really working with us to get us in, and we came close, but we just couldn't make it. They were so helpful. They did everything under the sun to help us, but we wouldn't have had enough money left over for our personal things and our copay and such. They were very reasonable. We ate one meal there. The staff was very nice. The facility was excellent.

We were very pleased with Silvercrest at Deer Creek. The room was very nice, clean, neat, and well lit, and had a beautiful deck. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There were people around, but I did not really see them doing any activities. The dining area looked very nice and very lovely.

Silvercrest was nice. I liked the people running the place because they were very accommodating and wanted to really know about my interests. They showed us the three complexes and several different types of apartments with large rooms and full kitchenettes. The layout was very nice and appealing. They had few activities and transportation available.

I liked Silvercrest because it has a good location with easy access to a lot of things around that area. The staff is well trained and very professional. The apartments were just fine, but the price was too high.

We’ve been in Silvercrest for four years now. They’re very good people here. I wanted something in case I needed memory care or assisted living for my husband. We have assisted living here, but it’s quite expensive at $2,000 more than what I’m paying right now. They give us two meals a day, and I have a big, one-bedroom apartment. Once, I had to go to the hospital at 1:00 a.m., and the person who’s in charge of security at night was good enough to call 911 for me. He had to go down and open the door for the paramedics, but his wife came and stayed with me until they came.

Best care facility in Kansas City area. After experiencing other assisted living locations and actually was a resident of an assisted living facility for several months. I moved to Silvercrest at Deer Creek. It is a wonderful arrangement and spacious placed to make a home like my own private home. Dinning is very up scale and serving excellent with assistance if needed. All the staff are friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to help. If you need someone in a matter of minutes they are there to assist you. I can not say enough good things about Silvercrest. There are as many activities and outings anyone would want to participate in. I am very happy to be a resident here.

I am so proud to call Silvercrest at Deer Creek my home. When I was looking for independent living, I did my homework and looked at all available IL facilities in this area, but I kept coming back to Silvercrest at Deer Creek because I immediately felt at home when I walked through the door. It is a beautiful facility with large apartments, very kind and helpful staff that quickly become your "family", and residents who never make you feel out of place. Every single day when I wake up, I thank God for my home - Silvercrest at Deer Creek.

My mother has been at Silvercrest for a little over one year. She likes it there very much. She likes the other residents and has made a lot of friends. she says the staff is very courteous and friendly. The only thing keeping this from being a five star rating is the food. The quality of the meals is very hit and miss.
Provider Response
Thank you so much for your great review! We are very happy to hear that your mother is so happy here at Silvercrest Deer Creek. We also appreciate your honest feedback about the meals. We are currently working to address this and we hope that she will see a remarkable change with them in the immediate future.

Silvercrest Deer Creek Senior was a very clean and very friendly place. As we walked around, people spoke to us, and I sat with a lady because we had lunch there before we took the tour, and the little lady sitting with us was just as friendly as she could be. The apartment that they showed us was really roomy. It had a full kitchen -- which really surprised me -- with a full-sized refrigerator, stove, a half-sized dishwasher, and a microwave; they had everything in there, and plus you got two meals a day. It had a big living room, an eating area, a nice big bedroom, a big bathroom, storage closets, and nice carpeting. It was a nice apartment. I wouldn't have had trouble living there with the exception that we would have to get rid of our dogs. It was clean, and the food was good.
Provider Response
Thank you for your review and the wonderful rating that you gave us. We strive every day to make sure that our residents love the way they live and I am so glad that you were able to experience that during your visit. We do allow dogs in our community as long as they are less than 30 pounds. I am not sure how big your dogs are but if they fall under 30 pounds we would love to visit with you again about the possibility of living here. Thank you again for your wonderful review and we are so glad you enjoyed your time with us.

I visited the assisted living part at Silvercrest Deer Creek, and while they call it assisted living, I think it was not enough of what I consider assisted living that we would consider moving there. I would not have been able to get the kind of assistance for my husband, and it was not just the level of assistance he needed. The apartments were very nice, and the sales person was friendly, but I wasn't really impressed with the director. They could improve on what their assisted program actually can do. I think it is a low level of assistance that they have and their care is based on points rather than like a level one, two, or three of care.
Provider Response
I am sorry that you did not find the type of care you were searching for at Silvercrest Deer Creek. Our nursing staff strives to ensure that our residents receive the care they need each day. At the same time we have to make sure that the care we do provide falls within the guidelines that are set forth by the state of Kansas for Assisted Living. Again I am sorry that we were not a fit for your husband and I hope that you were able to find a community for him where he can be well cared for and happy.
