"My friend was in Advanced Health Care Of Overland Park for a couple weeks of rehab. It's a beautiful community, and the staff was nice to me. Her room was very nice, big, and roomy and had a nice TV. It was also clean because they cleaned it every day. The food smelled good to me. They would bring her meal to her room. It was a very nice place. They were very nice to my friend. The community was absolutely beautiful and had a huge aquarium in the lobby."

"I have visited this facility often and have found it to be full of caring people! The building ma not be as new as some but the bottom line is the care a loved one receives and they do it very well. "

"My son was recently diagnosed with severe Cerebal dysfunction. After a month on life support he was transferred to an inner-city facility. While the inner-city facility made every effort to assist my son in his recovery, I recognized he needed more personalized attention. Timberlake Care Center was suggested. My son in state of confusion was extremely reluctant with this transition. With much encouragement and prodding, he finally agreed to give it a chance. The staff welcomed him with open arms and every effort was made to make him feel at home. I could not have asked or prayed for a better place to place him. Five stars to Timberlake Care Center and the staff. There has been a complete transformation in my son. I highly recommend this facility to anyone who is apprehensive about placing a family member in extended care. Cheers to Timberlake and the staff. You guys are doing a FABULOUS job!!!! "

"The facility was well kept. Offending smells, which can be so common in nursing homes, were kept to a minimum. Staff was knowledgeable, respectful, kind and gentle. I felt comfortable leaving my father in the facility's care. The one time I had a concern, I brought it to management's attention, and the situation was remedied (and then some) immediately. I was very grateful for the prompt attention.The occupational therapists were the highlight of my father's stay. They worked so closely with him and the rest of our family to get my father back to where he could live on his own. They demanded a lot from him, and they made him work hard, which was difficult, but necessary. The only downside of my father's stay was the daily meals. While I'm sure they were adequate and nutritious, they were also unfortunately bland and tasteless. He frequently requested I bring in outside food. "

"My mother went to The Healthcare Resort of Leawood when she got out of the hospital. She was only there for three nights. They had nursing care and assisted living was in another wing. They had a movie room. The staff was OK, but they kept changing. She wasn't impressed with the place. They had happy hour, but she didn't participate in it. The staff was friendly and tried to be accommodating to her. She didn't like the food."

"My father is in rehab at Indian Creek. He has been there since August. We chose this facility because we were looking for a facility that would allow him to smoke, and this one allow their residents to smoke. I would recommend them. My father's room is spacious enough. The staff seems nice; they do a good job. Dad is informed of activities that they have there, but he's just not interested in them. Also he doesn't like the food at all. It doesn't taste well and they don't give a variety in terms of selection. For this facility, they could improve on the food and on activities, e.g., having more outings. A lot of their residents just sit around there all day. After awhile, they would get bored and tired. "

"We visited The Forum and the whole place seemed a little bit too fancy for what my mother-in-law would feel comfortable in. It was almost over the top. They didn't have assisted living available at that time, but they did have independent living available. We looked at one of the apartments. It was good and very spacious. It was just like a regular one-bedroom apartment with a little kitchen. I liked it a lot. They got different areas in the building where people could get together. They also have a lot of activities for residents to participate in. "

"We visited Kingswood, which was really nice, and the one that we were going to place my brother in. They had a nurse on the premises who answered all of our questions. We were there for an hour talking to her about different things. They had a van that would take him to his doctors’ appointments and residents out shopping. They had a menu in the beautiful dining area, with no set time for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. "

"Awful place. My mother has been allowed to languish in pain and they won't give her any pain killers. They claim they have to wait for a doctor's prescription, although the hospital sent all orders and medication list when she was transferred. They also have not been monitoring her diabetes as they should. He levels have been running dangerously high and they don't seem to care. Finally, it takes over an hour for a nurse to respond when my mother calls."

"What I liked best at Delmar Gardens of Overland Park are some of the staff, but I also don't like some of them. The atmosphere is good. I am no longer able to fend for myself, and they help me with fixing the meals, taking showers, general care, and medications. Most of the staff are very good. The rooms are small. It's supposed to be a two-person room, but if you get two people in here, it's very crowded. There's no place really to get away from your roommate or anything if you don't get a good one. The food, most of the time, is good. They serve a lot of rice, mainly different flavors of rice, which I am not fond of. I don't like rice, but I realize it's an economical thing to fix for a large group. I don't get into any of the activities they have, but they have quite a few. I watch a lot of TV. I have a DVR where I record shows that I want to see. They do as well as they can, but they seem to have huge amounts of rooms that they're responsible for in the housekeeping. They don't have the time to do any deep cleaning. They just don't have the time to do anything extra when they've got 50 or 60 different rooms that they've got to take care of daily. It's kind of impossible to add anything extra to it. Their housekeeping staff is excellent. The nurse's aides are one of the main reasons that I give a score of four because some of them are excellent and others are lazy."

"Claridge Court is a fantastic place. They're very tentative, and they've taken care of my wife very well. Her room is fantastic. The staff is great. They pay their people well, they do a lot of research, and they're always available. Whenever my wife presses the button, she gets help. They offer some discount, but they're very, very expensive. If we could afford it, we'd stay there. She's in a single room. They don't have assisted living, but if she stays there, it would cost $16,000 a month. I can't afford that. The food is excellent. She likes it. If you don't consider the price, it's an A-rated company."

"I absolutely love Delmar Gardens of Lenexa. The staff are so friendly and genuinely care about my mom. She is thriving since her move to Delmar. She is well cared for and staff go above and beyond to make her happy. A huge weight has been lifted as I know my mom is happy. If I ever need assistance, Administration is happy to assist and always greets me with a warm smile. "
