"My mother has been a resident of Maywood for over 2 years. My bother and I visit often and are happy with the way mom is being treated. Mom tells us she is treated good. I noticed the staff is dedicated professionals who do the best they can in a difficult job. The food service is dedicated to delivering restaurant quality with a variety of foods. They go the extra mile to make it taste better by seasonings and spices and caring if it is right. If a resident does not care for the food. They fix them something they are happy with. The management has always been good to us and listen to our wants and needs. They also helped me with professional advise on the way to make this all happen smoothly to the new changes in mom's life, like getting a Elder lawyer. Maywood does not have the fancy water fountains, chandeliers or scenic views, but they do have people who care, who are working hard to follow rules and regulations of the state. They are currently working on a remodeling the facility. New paint, new floors, are already done. We toured several facilities at the beginning and I feel I made the right decision for my mom."

"My mother was a resident of Park Place Care Center for rehab prior to her death in 2006. I visited the facility prior to making the decision to move her there. We were moving her from an unacceptable nursing home and needed to find one which accepted her insurance. The staff was empathetic to me and the grounds were well maintained. The smell of cleaning products in the building was rather strong but at an acceptable level. All areas I encountered were very clean. After my mother was admitted, she shared a room with another patient. The rooms were adequate and not much was offered in regards to providing a sense of privacy from the roommate. The staff did offer social occasions for the residents to mingle, however, my mother never choose to participate. She did enjoy the dining area and made friends there. Overall, my mother did not seem to enjoy her time at this facility stating she felt the residents (patients) weren't treated with a proper amount of respect. I never personally witnessed any time where residents weren't treated properly but do take my mother at her word. Overall, Park Place Care Center is an adequate facility and I do not regret our choice. "

"My wife is in Highland Rehabilitation & Health Care Center and the place is horrible. They are understaffed. One of my biggest complaints is that when I try calling them back, all I get is a voice recording. It's an older building. It's not well set up. They've got her in a locked area. When there's a visit, she gets off the elevator and you have to wait for someone to open the door, and they aren't very good with that. There are few activities and they have bingo."

"Our second choice would be Saint Luke's Bishop Spencer Place. We like the place, the activities that would be open to us if we live there, and the people that we met including the person who showed us around. We had lunch there a couple of times, and the food was great. We liked all of those things. The big negative for us was the upfront cost. We certainly had the money, but we were reluctant to dip into our nest egg to pay the upfront amount, and that was what we liked the least. The staff were friendly and professional. They had the offerings of what we were looking for with one exception. They did not have a swimming facility, but everything else was excellent."

"My mom is at Seasons Rehab and Healthcare Center and the staff has been very cooperative and very nice. They are very patient with their residents. The facility is very clean. The rooms are bigger and they have a lot of activities for them."

"Redwood of Kansas City was referred to us, and mom is in there. It's been good, the staff seem very competent, cooperative, friendly, and responsive. She hasn't shared any complaints about the food, they're under lockdown due to COVID, so none of us have been able to see her face-to-face, except from her window, and I talk to her on Facetime. My brother said the outside is very nice."

"My mother-in-law is currently with Carmel Hills Healthcare and Rehab Center. The staff seems very caring. The facility is very clean and very secure. The administrative staff is unbelievably helpful when it's such a trying time and you don't know what you're doing. They have a lot of different exercises, and the rehabilitation rooms are very nice ones. I am very satisfied. "

"I visited there and too tell anyone the truth I would not even put my SICK dog in that place!! The CNA are lazy..and don't do a good job...They are on the cell phones..all the time 24/7..I even heard on person yelling for a Nurse because they un-pluged the call light!!! Its a shame that the elder people there gets No respect and they are treated like DIRT! I think people working there are for the MONEY!! and Do no work..So think long and hard before you put your love one in a place like that!! GOOD LUCK! "

"My sister was in Ignite Medical Resorts for rehab. The overall experience was good. She loved the food, she loved the atmosphere, it just seemed like the right place for her. The accommodations were nice. It was kind of compact, but they were nice accommodations. It was not too large of a room. The staff was personable, professional, they did a good job. I ate only once, it was prepared by a chef, and it was tasty. It wasn't bland. She would talk about playing bingo and card games and things like that. She stayed there for about two months."

"The staff are so personable and genuinely kind and caring. I had to place my mom here and I feel that I made a safe decision for her. I feel that she is in good hands here. The staff take good care of her and always willing to discuss how she does on a daily basis with me. I would recommend this to anyone who has to make the difficult decision to place a loved one in a long term care facility and be able to be experience peace about the choice. "

"I visited the Rehabilitation Center. Both my parents were there for quite a while, and as far as the care facility, which is a step ot two higher in care, they're the best I've seen for that. I thought they cared for my folks well. It's the staff that made the play. The food wasn't grand, but it was OK. "

"Modern spacious clean facility. Entrance has a front desk and a staff station for information and security. Rooms have well equipped spacious bathrooms. Larger beds and plenty of natural light. My 90 year old friends favorite is the bath and shaves. Sharon the dietitian is wonderful. You may dine in your room or the dining room. It’s my favorite restaurant! You have a menu to select what food you would like. Doug is the transportation specialist. Doug can pick you up at the hospital or take you to doctor appointments. He is very safety minded and professional. The team of caregivers is the best that I have seen in this type of facility. Our are experience is 18 days in December and 13 in February and March.
