"The people were helpful and respectful. It's pretty much a standard nursing home. The rooms and the dining room were satisfactory, which was more of a restaurant style setup. I was satisfied enough with Maywood Terrace that we were about to move my sister in there. "

"My mother was a resident of Park Place Care Center for rehab prior to her death in 2006. I visited the facility prior to making the decision to move her there. We were moving her from an unacceptable nursing home and needed to find one which accepted her insurance. The staff was empathetic to me and the grounds were well maintained. The smell of cleaning products in the building was rather strong but at an acceptable level. All areas I encountered were very clean. After my mother was admitted, she shared a room with another patient. The rooms were adequate and not much was offered in regards to providing a sense of privacy from the roommate. The staff did offer social occasions for the residents to mingle, however, my mother never choose to participate. She did enjoy the dining area and made friends there. Overall, my mother did not seem to enjoy her time at this facility stating she felt the residents (patients) weren't treated with a proper amount of respect. I never personally witnessed any time where residents weren't treated properly but do take my mother at her word. Overall, Park Place Care Center is an adequate facility and I do not regret our choice. "

"My wife is in Highland Rehabilitation & Health Care Center and the place is horrible. They are understaffed. One of my biggest complaints is that when I try calling them back, all I get is a voice recording. It's an older building. It's not well set up. They've got her in a locked area. When there's a visit, she gets off the elevator and you have to wait for someone to open the door, and they aren't very good with that. There are few activities and they have bingo."

"I got to tour Rosewood Healthcare & Rehab at The Groves yesterday. The Groves is like a campus. They have anywhere from minimal assisted living to long-term care, and then to a memory ward. We were just amazed by what we saw there. In their memory ward, they were doing a whole, complete remodel on a couple of the floors. They have a chapel on-site. They have a couple of residential doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses, and nurses' aides. It is like a little city inside a big city. It was crazy. We were looking at it for long-term care because my mother is not quite at the level of assisted living; she needs a little bit more than that. They encourage social interaction. If it is private pay, they will more than likely have their own room, but if it's Medicaid pay, then they will more than likely have a roommate. They have a personality test, and they have social workers to see who would be a good fit with each other. There are all walks of life of people there. There are those who are on a completely fixed income and those who made six figures a year. There's no discrimination whatsoever. The number of people that we saw was just dipped from different cultures and different races. It was just amazing. I really enjoyed seeing all that. We met two of the weekend directors, and they were extremely knowledgeable. You could tell they had been doing this for a really long time. They answered every question, and they were honest when they said, "Hey, that's not something that we're familiar with," on a couple of questions that we asked. They were forthcoming and honest. One thing that we are looking for is how honest the staff is with us. The nurse we met was busy taking care of three floors. She was charting, but she introduced herself and talked about the floor a little bit, so that was pretty good. We saw the cafeteria, and there were quite a few residents eating. It smelled really good. The director said, "There are times when I'll eat four out of five days that I'm here." He says the food is so good here. We didn't see any of the activities that were going on. It's the weekend, so people were taking their family members out and taking them out to lunch. They don't do physical therapy on the weekends, but we get to peek into the room, and it looks like any state-of-the-art physical therapy room at any hospital."

"My dad is at Bishop Spencer Place and so far everything has been very good. What I liked about this facility is that my dad is in the assisted living and yet we just have to pay a little more money for extra care. My dad is a little bit independent but they make amends for the extra care. "

"We have been very fortunate to find Seasons Care Center for my mom. We've been with them since a month and a half now. They took care of my mom during the day while we are at work and then we bring her home in the evenings. We are hoping to keep her with the family for as long as we can. .At this point, we are extremely satisfied with them. It took us a while to locate them because they are not very well advertised, but it got good excellent reviews online. The facility is recently remodeling. The staff are compassionate and very knowledgeable. I would recommend them highly because they've been very, very good with my mother. "

"Redwood of Kansas City was referred to us, and mom is in there. It's been good, the staff seem very competent, cooperative, friendly, and responsive. She hasn't shared any complaints about the food, they're under lockdown due to COVID, so none of us have been able to see her face-to-face, except from her window, and I talk to her on Facetime. My brother said the outside is very nice."

"Me and my son went to Carmel Hills during lunch, and everybody was busy, but my son said he liked the place. I talked to one of the ladies in charge who gave us a small tour, and it was nice. It's a little older, but they kept it clean and had a receptionist at the door. It wasn't that nice, but it was functional. They try to keep them busy. They have long term, rehab, and they even take in respite care. "

"I visited there and too tell anyone the truth I would not even put my SICK dog in that place!! The CNA are lazy..and don't do a good job...They are on the cell phones..all the time 24/7..I even heard on person yelling for a Nurse because they un-pluged the call light!!! Its a shame that the elder people there gets No respect and they are treated like DIRT! I think people working there are for the MONEY!! and Do no work..So think long and hard before you put your love one in a place like that!! GOOD LUCK! "

"My sister was in Ignite Medical Resorts for rehab. The overall experience was good. She loved the food, she loved the atmosphere, it just seemed like the right place for her. The accommodations were nice. It was kind of compact, but they were nice accommodations. It was not too large of a room. The staff was personable, professional, they did a good job. I ate only once, it was prepared by a chef, and it was tasty. It wasn't bland. She would talk about playing bingo and card games and things like that. She stayed there for about two months."

"Golden Living Community was very nice. The people were friendly. I talked to a couple of the nurses. I wanted to put my mom in there because it just seems so different, like when you walk in the door, and they had a big lobby area that was just beautiful and clean. When I walked in, the first thing I tried to do was smell and see if it had any odors, and it didn't. They had activities and big menus posted for the day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and it was just so nice. The dining room was really nice. "

"This was one of the few places I toured that did not have a foul odor while walking around. Staff was pleasant and helpful. I was told this facility was under new management and they were informative on the changes they were making to improve! "

"My mom is in Sunterra Springs Independence for rehab. It's very clean, I think the people are skilled, they are working with her this morning for rehab. I've been very impressed with the facility and the majority of the staff. I walked through the dining area, it's very nice. The room is fine, even though it's not a very old place, they just brought in all new furniture in the room which surprised me, but it looks good. The meals they brought looked fine."
