"Awful place. My mother has been allowed to languish in pain and they won't give her any pain killers. They claim they have to wait for a doctor's prescription, although the hospital sent all orders and medication list when she was transferred. They also have not been monitoring her diabetes as they should. He levels have been running dangerously high and they don't seem to care. Finally, it takes over an hour for a nurse to respond when my mother calls."

"I have a lot of good things to say about Lakeview Village and nothing negative. They seem very caring, helpful, and responsive. It's clean and well organized. Right now, my wife is in a two-person room, which is average sized. I have eaten there, and the food is pretty good and has a lot of variety. I've been very pleased with it. "

"My father is in rehab at Indian Creek. He has been there since August. We chose this facility because we were looking for a facility that would allow him to smoke, and this one allow their residents to smoke. I would recommend them. My father's room is spacious enough. The staff seems nice; they do a good job. Dad is informed of activities that they have there, but he's just not interested in them. Also he doesn't like the food at all. It doesn't taste well and they don't give a variety in terms of selection. For this facility, they could improve on the food and on activities, e.g., having more outings. A lot of their residents just sit around there all day. After awhile, they would get bored and tired. "

"One of the many things that I love about Westchester Village is the fact that they have all levels of care from Skilled Nursing to Assisted Living to Independent Living. It is important to me that I know that if my mom (who is currently living in Independent Living) needs additional help down the road, we can move her to the skilled nursing wing for rehab/extra care or to the Assisted Living wing without totally uprooting her. Westchester Village has totally impressed our family in all areas. Nursing care has been excellent; with every interaction, we have been impressed with their professionalism and responsiveness. The Therapy Department is on site which makes it easy for my mom to get the rehab that she needs without leaving the building. The food and cleanliness of the building are outstanding and the Administration staff are supportive and quick to respond to any concerns or questions. My mom also loves the fact that they have a Primary Care Physician that will see her right in her own apartment without having to travel to his office. We took the time to look at several facilities before choosing Westchester Village and we have no regrets. My mom loves it! She has made a lot of new friends, she loves the staff and most importantly she feels safe. We have seen her actually grow stronger from being more active with all of the fun events that she attends on a daily basis. Every time I visit my mom and I see her interact with the staff, it warms my heart because I can see that she loves the staff and they love her right back! I highly recommend Westchester Village!"

"Garden Terrace looks fabulous, and it seemed like it would be great. They have only memory care. They get all of the patients involved; it happened to be the time in the World Series, and the patients were all doing things for the World Series. They were also decorating pumpkins; it just seemed very good. It’s kind of in a busy area, but the building itself was fine. I was pleased with what I saw, and the staff was professional and pleasant. It’s very accessible, it's close to a hospital, and they told me that they have like three concerts a week. "

"The heater and air conditioner had no in between it was either too hot or too cold. The staff was excellent. I never met one employee in there that didn’t have a lot of compassion. I am so thankful I went there. "

"I'm very familiar with Village Shalom because my mother-in-law goes there twice a week for adult day care. It is very expensive but it gives her a great stimulation which people needs. I have gone there to visit friends and to participate in activities and services. They have all kinds of things from bingo, studies, to academics, you name it, they have it. It's an amazing facility. It is small. They have a lot of staff. I like the staff a lot; however, it is expensive. They'll give you a private dining room for the family, which is nice. They have films, they have speakers, they have whatever you need. What really attracts me to this community is the fact that it is a Jewish facility and we are Jewish and it gives all the Jewish things, i.e., the services, the holidays, the kosher foods, it gives you all of that. If you're Jewish, it is fantastic. Now you don't have to be Jewish, they have a lot of people there who are not. "

"My husband and I visited the facility on Sunday, January 8th, 2017. We were very impressed...clean, staff was very friendly and answered our questions. If they didn't have the answers, they referred us to Lisa. Mike was an excellent tour guide. We are hoping to move my parents from Cedar Rapids, IA to Villa St. Francis, once there are openings as family members live in the K.C. area. "

"We have visited Shawnee Gardens Healthcare and Rehab Center. We chose it for my dad because of its location and they have transportation. They'll take him to dialysis three times a week, and they have a person to do that, and that was the main reason. My mom mostly chose it, and she likes it. The staff was nice. They were just engaging, and they listened to all our concerns. The facility is not anything super special, but it was adequate. It looked clean and it looked good. They have a courtyard, and they have physical therapy. The location is convenient for us just because it is close to our homes. It's probably within a few miles of a hospital, and there are a lot of restaurants and stuff around."

"When mom was in the independent living of Aberdeen, she started falling a lot. She has vertigo. She was in the hospital briefly and they move her over to assisted living. They've been very receptive when we disagreed on what they wanted to do. So we just hated to move her unless they were just really going to pressure us to move her. They have several different wings. Mom and dad started in independent living 10 years ago or so and they were very happy with that. The food was fabulous in the independent living. There were lots of choices. It took forever to be served but it was very tasty. Mom's in the mid-range assisted living now. There are not as many choices, but they do have an alternative menu if they don't like the choices that are offered. They have lots of activities. They bring in lots of different things for them to do. Everything from chair exercises to current movies. They have bingo, Jeopardy, they got a lot of things. "

"Advanced Health Care of Overland Park appeared nice. My mother had been there a couple of times before, so she's familiar with it and she liked it there. She was happy with it. Her room was good and spacious. The food was good. She always looked forward to going to the meals. She had physical therapy and occupational therapy. They had crossword puzzles and crafts, popcorn, and ice cream social."

"My wife moved into Ascension Living St. Joseph Place. It is a very nice facility and a Catholic facility. Everyone there is very nice, very caring, and friendly. They take good care of my wife. The food is very good. They keep the facility very clean. It is a good place to go. I would recommend them to anyone."
