"I thought Solstice Senior Living at Lee's Summit was very nice. They showed me around and gave me a brochure. However, when I went to visit, they didn't really go into details about things. It was more general, but when my parents went back, they went into more details. The dining area looked OK; it was clean. The rooms were nice, too."

"It was clean. The staff was friendly. The residents seemed very happy. The apartments were large. The amenities were good. They provide meals. They have a library. They have a fitness room. They have transportation to outings or appointments. They furnish laundry equipment in the apartment. I toured around lunchtime, and it smelled good when I went in there. I saw the menu of the day and it looked very, very good. I thought it would be a good fit for my sister."

"My sister is in The Grand Royale's assisted living facility in Gladstone for respite care. They're helping her to get rehabilitated. They're doing physical therapy, occupational therapy, and giving her medicines. The staff members are excellent. Her living space is very spacious. The facility itself is very clean, and it's very nice. I really don't participate in the activities, and my sister doesn't need them right now, but I do know that they have them. I only know what they are charging my sister because it's daily for respite care, and I would say that it's pretty fair."

"My mother lives in Brookdale Overland Park. It is lovely. It has a pool. It has everything you could want including all your meals -- if you like meals without seasoning that is. They have to please everybody, so there is no seasoning. My mother's apartment is small, but it is more than adequate for one person. They have all kinds of things for senior citizens to do there. You never have to leave the place if you don't want to. My mother has a one-bedroom -- I believe you can also have two bedrooms. Her room has a balcony, a full service kitchen, a nice bathroom, bedroom, and living room. My mother didn't participate in anything. She didn't even go to meals. I supply all her foods. She's 97, but she still drives. She goes to my house, and she goes and do her shopping. I provide all her food. She likes her food with spice. I believe they have bingo, cards, and knitting, but she does nothing. The staff is fine from what I can see. They do what they do. They are nice. I have no complains and neither does my mother. They provide laundry for bedding once a week and cleaning for the apartment every two weeks. Then again, my mother doesn't have them do anything, but it's there if you want it. However, it will be nice if they come in to clean. That's the reason why my mother stops them. They didn't clean the way she wanted it done: thoroughly. The meals, I have eaten there, and I go "Yuck!" but they have to please so many people. So they are not going to cook Indonesian or Thai or the stuff that I cook that my mother is used to. It is too spicy and too different. It will be nice if they provide a little seasoning to make it taste good. "

"Our Lady of Mercy Country Home is excellent. My mother-in-law resides there right now and both my wife and I have been very pleased with it. The facility is kept immaculate. The food is very good. They're very caring. I would absolutely recommend this facility to others. "

"One thing I liked about The Princeton Senior Living was the room. I thought they were very well done. They had granite countertops for the kitchen counters and nice living spaces. They made it look like more of an apartment instead of just a room. I enjoyed that. I thought it was adequate as far as the number of bedrooms and there's a computer area for you. The dining area was adequate. It was modern and restaurant-style. They have a little grab-and-go bistro area where they can grab things and take it back to their room at any time of the day. I liked that a lot. The staff we met was very nice and very informative. They provided the residents with a number of meals during the day included in the package that I thought was fantastic, too. They have plenty of options to choose from their menu."

"It is assisted living that I saw at The Madison Senior Living. It was a fairly new place. It's nice. The people there seemed to be very courteous and friendly. It's clean. The room that I looked at was a good size for my husband. It was a studio but well set up. They gave us just a little snack food while we were waiting, but they showed us a menu of what the people there would get, and it had a variety of things on it. The staff who assisted was very good. She's even checked with me two or three times since then. There was a variety of activities that would be provided for them if they care to take part. The facility was beautiful. It was a fairly new place, so it was in very good shape."

"The rooms at The Parkway Senior Living need to be furnished by your own furniture. The place is fine for someone who knows what is going on and can enjoy the social life that is going on there. "

"We visited Garden Villas of Lenexa for my mother-in-law. It was very good, they were very helpful, and I thought the place was very nice. The rooms were nice, and we especially like the fact that she could have a washer and dryer and those, as opposed to the other ones. They had a library and a pool. We saw a menu, but we didn't try any food. The menu offered as far as the variety. When we were there, there were some ladies playing cards. The living atmosphere, I would say, was very good. Their price is a little bit more than the other ones. There was staff cleaning constantly."

"My father-in-law moved into the Wellington Senior Living. The facility is brand new and beautiful. The community is good. Everybody's lovely and it's just perfect. I've eaten there one time and it was average. He said sometimes the food is really good and other times it's not. I wish they did more with vegetables, because I feel like they always serve french fries. I don't see a lot of vegetables that go into their meal planning for them. They keep them very busy with a lot of activities, which is good."

"We toured Senior Star at Wexford Place. We loved the facilities. We love what they offer to seniors the different games, whether the workout facility, the worship facility, or the rooms. We just love this facility altogether. We looked at a one bedroom and we looked at a studio. Both of them are spacious enough for my brother. It had plenty of storage closet space. We liked the whole setup they had. Their emergency cord, we like their system where they checked off the residence, where they gave the residents their own space, but they still would just have to follow up and make sure that they were okay in their room. Amber, I absolutely love her. They offered us lunch. We did not take much, but they offered it. They gave us a box of cookies to go and I gave it to my brother. They have an indoor pool. They had an outdoor courtyard where I think they had a little pond with goldfish in it. It was peaceful, if you just wanted a peaceful rest or a peaceful view, they offered that."

"We had a full tour of Carnegie Village. It’s very nice. They seemed to take good care of their residents. The dining room area was very nice, not brand new, but it looked good. They were expanding garages and parking areas when we were visiting because they had a lot of people, I guess, that still drive in that area, which is what we were looking for. However, we’re not sure if we’re going to move to that area, but if we move there, that’s probably where we would go. "

"The staff at Greenwood Terrace were nice, but the little kitchen was small, there was no stove, and not much cupboard space or cupboards. The place was very nice."
