"The most I liked most about my tour of Armour Oaks Senior Living was the beautiful setting. The building was old but it was beautiful, it just had a feeling of history about it. The person who gave us the tour seemed very helpful. We saw their dining room and the patient rooms, and I liked the layout of the place. The bedroom sizes were very small, it was probably the smallest of all places that we saw. The facility looked clean to me. There are a lot of nearby facilities including hospitals, restaurants, and shopping."

"We chose The Parkway Senior Living for my aunt. We toured it twice. The location is close to where I live. It is brand new, and everything is brand new and beautiful. The kitchen is restaurant style, so you can have like eight or 10 choices for every single meal. It's a very nice facility. The staff is very professional and the rooms are bigger than any other assisted living we've seen. This is a high quality, very ritzy place. They have a movie theater. They have activities for nine or ten hours of the day. Everything is clean, freshly painted, and smells good. It's insanely nice."

"I put a deposit down on Garden Villas of Lenexa. It was a welcoming environment. The representative presented the facility and all the amenities. The apartment that we chose has a door that would separate the bedroom from the living area, which was a nice feature for a studio apartment, and the community is very close to where I live. The staff member who toured us around was very friendly. As a matter of fact, I was there when the residents were eating, and they all acknowledged the staff as we were walking by. They made you feel welcome. It just appears to be a good environment. I met several staff members and most of them had been there for a long period of time. They have a coffee bar and an ice cream parlor. They have ice cream on Wednesdays. They have the activity where they take them to Target and to Walmart. There is a mall straight across the street, too. They have game rooms, a swimming pool, a hot tub, an outdoor, and an atrium area. Those are the things that most interest me. However, it's an older facility, and it's built on a hill."

"We took my dad for a long term care at The Groves, because my mom doesn't want anyone coming to their home. He was well take care of and I was very pleased. The rooms were well kept. But the only problem is that he doesn't have access to going outside because it is a high rise building. He doesn't have any problem with the food but the place has minimal activities for him. "

"We liked it here. The two-bedroom apartment was spacious. We liked the idea of having the washer and dryer in it. They had a lot of activities and that's what I was kind of going for. The apartment had a kitchen and a microwave, a full stove, and a full-size refrigerator. We were looking at the independent living and then we could go down and eat our meals downstairs. They had what they call the bistro and the day we were there, they were having prime rib and it smelled delicious. They have a theater room where at night, you can go in and watch movies, and I thought that was unique. They play bingo. You can go down and do cards or work puzzles and they take little trips. There was a bus parked in the parking lot. They had a beautiful courtyard where you could go out and sit. They had awnings or umbrellas over the bench to help you from the sun."

"The Crestone Senior Living is a very nice facility. I toured their independent living side. It's brand-new, and the staff was extremely friendly. We also ate lunch, and the food was really good. It has a lot of activities, too. The apartments are nice, but a little bit on the small side for my parents. Other than that, I think most people would find it very nice."

"We chose Greenway Villas for Mom because of the layout of the facility, it is a multiplex that is all rent style one level, the cost is a little more reasonable, and the location. Once the unit is available and we are seriously interested, then we can go in person. Prior to that, it's just online pictures. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. It's a 55+ community and they have activities, but they don't have any medical care available. They have morning coffee and they have a little coffee shop that they have set up in one of their units, so they can gather for visitation. They do outdoor picnics, and they have a gazebo area where they have outdoor activities when the weather permits. We were looking for a two-bedroom, two-bath unit. Their facility only has one bathroom, but it will work for us with our situation, and because of the cost difference, we chose to go that route. Other than that, I really liked that it's a well-maintained property. It's very inviting, more like a home instead of an apartment. They don't do food. One of the biggest things that attracted us was the ease of getting in and out. Parking is at your front door, there's a little patio area for her as well as a little fenced front porch, and it's all maintenance free exterior."

"My experience with Foxwood Springs has been good. They've been very helpful. The food has been fine. Right now, I've just moved into a one-bedroom, very small apartment. I think it's probably less than a thousand square feet. I have a wheelchair here and it's a little tight, but it's convenient and it's easy to keep neat and clean. I have a little puppy dog that I walk up and down on my power chair, and everybody just loves to see her. They've got swimming, church, and all kinds of games and things going on here. One night they played bingo, and one night they played cards. On Friday, they have a mix and mingle where everybody comes and greets the new residents. There is a snack and everybody is just very positive. They've got a beautiful garden here where people can go down and work in. It's just a nice experience."

"We chose Heritage Park because my mom quickly needed a place and everybody else had a waiting list. Tt’s a very nice community at a really good price. They always have things to do and have everything my mom was looking for, like bingo nights, movie nights, and other activities. The staff was very nice and very helpful. Mom has a one-bedroom apartment sized about 800 sq. ft. and cooks for herself. "

"The rooms at Dogwood Springs Retirement Villa were really small and fit only a queen-sized bed and nothing else. They had a lot of activities for their residents and take good care of each other there. Their price is lower than most facilities. There is a shopping center close by. "
