"It seems to be well-maintained, has friendly staff, has a variety of levels of care with add-on services. They have a pool, a wood-working shop, game rooms, TV rooms, theater, and balconies on many of the independent living units. It was a nice facility. I've only met one staff so far and she's 5 out of 5."

"It's a wonderful facility and very professional operation. The apartments were first class and spacious, and the dining room was very nice. Senior Star at Wexford Place was a high quality place. "

"I toured Riverstone. It was a very nice place, but I have back issues and need a pool. They don't have one. They have a hot tub. It was lovely. They were all very nice. The size of the rooms was more than adequate. Scott was very accommodating, and they have a gym."

"I toured Connect55+ Independence. It's a newer building, about the same age as the one I'm in now. The square footage for each apartment is a little smaller than what I have here. They have a large turnover of management, and they can't seem to find someone who really interacts well with the residents. Their activities are about average for a senior building. They have fewer socializing opportunities than we do in the building here. They don't have an organized activity director, I don't believe. The facilities were clean and well kept. Nothing spectacular, just very utilitarian."

"My favorite was the Parkway Senior Living. They were the friendliest. I came out in the afternoon when they were having some activity going on, and the people all seemed very happy. I did get to eat there, and the food was delicious. It was restaurant style. You didn't have to be there at an exact certain time. They have a nice variety and they always have fruits and vegetables for people to get any time. The apartments were very roomy, very nicely set up, and they had full kitchens. It had kind of a bar thing where you look out over the living room. It's very, very nice. All the people that we met there seemed really happy and friendly. It's more homey and it seemed like everybody was enjoying themselves. I really, really liked the place. If I could have afforded it, I would have stayed there."

"It was clean. The staff was friendly. The residents seemed very happy. The apartments were large. The amenities were good. They provide meals. They have a library. They have a fitness room. They have transportation to outings or appointments. They furnish laundry equipment in the apartment. I toured around lunchtime, and it smelled good when I went in there. I saw the menu of the day and it looked very, very good. I thought it would be a good fit for my sister."

"Armour Oaks is an awesome place to live. The quality of care is great. I like all my nurses and staff. They are very helpful, and they really care of us residents. My family feels safe with me being here. It’s a great place to live. "

"I have chosen this community. It was bright, clean, and friendly. The room is a one-bedroom apartment with a full kitchen. It has a bedroom, a bath, and a washer and dryer. They showed me a calendar of the things that they do, like games they play, the places they go, the bingo, and that sort of thing. Two meals are included. They have a library and a room where they have a theater and a chapel."

"The Princeton Senior Living was just a new facility opening up. I didn't get to talk to too many people or anything, but I felt like just by talking with them, it would be a very good community to stay in. The rooms were very nice. They had different square footage and they were homey. The front foyer had seating areas and so forth so you'd be able to sit out with the family and talk if you didn't want to stay in the room. They also had other areas like that where you can visit, like a library."

"We liked Garden Villas of Lenexa. The facility was very appealing to us, the location, and the inside and outside were very nice. They were very pleasant. I can recommend them. If we were gonna choose right now, that would be the one we'd choose, but we can't do anything until we sell our home. The manager was very thorough, very kind, and knowledgeable about what it entails moving in there. We looked at a two-bedroom, two-bath apartment. The one-bedroom and two-bedroom were very similar, except for that second bedroom and second bathroom. What we saw was very inviting and it looked like it would work good for us as far as the dining room and all the other things. We were very pleased with that place. They have a beauty shop and a courtyard to go out and sit. It's private, and if you have an animal that's where you could go with your animal. There are levels and it would've been nice if it had just been all one level. The rooms have a balcony, a beautiful kitchen area, a washer and dryer, and everything like that."

"I went to The Madison Senior Living. It was just as good as the other one I saw, the staff was great, the facilities were great, and their rooms were a little larger. Some of the apartments were larger. It was all in one building, which makes a difference, because you didn't have to go from building to building. It looks spotless, it looks really good, and in the spring it's going to be beautiful. They had a dining room, a bistro, and underground parking; I think they had a fee for that. They furnished three meals a day, they gave us dinner to take home, and it was delicious. The staff was really, really knowledgeable, and really good. It opened in August, everything is in good shape, and it's pretty close to brand new."

"Liberty at Shoal Creek's rooms are big. They have one- and two-bedrooms. They also have food if you want to eat. The staff was nice. It's a nice place off the highway, and the stores are closed. It's convenient and centrally located to everything. It seemed pretty quiet because it's got open lands on both sides of it."

"My mother-in-law moved to Westbrook Care Center. The community is great. It's a caring environment with lots of activities. She has a one-bedroom apartment with a nice, very big bathroom that is very easily accessible. The dining area is wonderful. They do Wii bowling, some painting, and a lot of crafts. They have a little exercise thing, they do puzzles, and mingle amongst the people."

"I visited many places and this was the best by far! Every one was friendly and helpful. A true community feel. Loved everything about it."
