I toured Holiday Greenwood Terrace. They showed me a couple of units that were right in the middle of renovation. The staff who gave the tour was great though. They're wonderful. The facility was great.

I liked that all the utilities are paid at Holiday Greenwood Terrace, that you get three meals a day, and you have a bus ride to take you to your doctors' appointments. They had a lot of things going. It just wasn't quite a fit for me. They played games there and had entertainment there. There were only two things that I didn't like. They did not have air conditioning in the bedroom. They had a wall unit in the living room, but that wall unit had to keep the living room, the bedroom, and the bathroom cool. I liked air vents more in all my rooms. Another thing was it's expensive. Other than that, it was beautiful. I love the space that they showed me. It was big enough for me. I don't have to have a lot of square footage. It was a nice-sized living room, kitchen, bedroom, a bathroom, and closet space. They tried their very best to accommodate. I had lunch while I was there and the food was tolerable. We had choices. They also had a chapel, a library, and all kinds of games, like card games, bingo, and Wii bowling.

I went to Holiday Greenwood Village. The staff was very friendly and courteous. Their dining area was very large and it was completely packed when I got there. I think there were probably three or four empty chairs. The food must be pretty good. But their rooms did not meet my requirements with my power chair. I need more room than most people, and the showers had a 4 or 5-inch lift. They had to step over to get into the shower. I am not capable of doing that. I need a roll-in shower. So, for that reason, I could not accept that senior living facility. The lady who took me on the tour was very friendly and personable. She asked all kinds of pertinent questions. She volunteered to help me find any other place that would most properly suit my needs if I was interested in using her assistance. So, it was a very nice experience. They showed me their walking path outside, the dining facility, the library, and the activities facility. They had a pool table and an exercise facility.

Holiday Greenwood Terrace was a nice place. It's a newer facility. It has a wonderful apartment, and the food must be excellent because the crowd was out of control. The dining area was nice. It's plenty, good size, and a lot of people were there. The staff that gave the tour was wonderful.

Holiday Greenwood Terrace was beautiful. The apartments were really nice. They were just not within my price range. It's tempting but it would be a stretch. The staff was wonderful, very friendly, and very accommodating. We had lunch there and the food was delicious. The residents that we spoke with were very nice. They were all very, very happy with their services. The amenities were extremely good. They were more and better than any other place I've ever seen. It was remarkable.

I moved into Holiday Greenwood Terrace a week ago. The meals are really good. They serve them 3 times a day and they have a helpful staff. The residents are very friendly. They have a nursing staff on-site, as well as a physical therapy staff. So, everything is like a little community where you don't have to go outside for different things. There's an exercise room, a card room, and a pool table.

My aunt has moved into Holiday Greenwood Terrace. She loves it there. She is very happy there. Everyone was really friendly, but not pushy. I think her favorite thing is the amount of light in her apartment. It's very nice. Upkeep and maintenance were very good. We had trouble hooking our TV up and they came and helped us do it. The staff are very friendly. The dining area is elegant, which was something that impressed my aunt. It reminded her of the fancy dinner and stuff that she used to go to. She has done some of the activities, which was nice. They had some dancers in, and she watched them. Some people brought puppies in, and she thought that was pretty cool. She's not a bingo person, but they do play bingo. I was impressed with what she got for her money.

We toured and looked at Holiday Greenwood Terrace, and the facility was very nice. The person who gave us the tour was super nice and helpful. It was just that their care was a little bit more than what my in-laws felt they needed at this point. The rooms were nice and clean, and the facility itself was also clean. We saw a list of their activities that the seniors could participate in.

Holiday Greenwood Terrace was a beautiful place. They had a chef there, and he was very cordial. They have transportation, and that was the most impressive thing. They have a courtyard. What I saw there was impressive to me, and the price was very reasonable. It was amazing. They had different upgrades to it and everything. They had a fireplace in the dining room. The staff who toured me was wonderful. She was very super. She was a beautiful host. She just did a marvelous job. She didn't try to oversell anything. She just told us just like it was and let us see them with our own eyes. There was no illusion about it. It is what it is. The food was delicious. It was very fresh.

Holiday Greenwood Terrace was lovely. They had chef-prepared meals. The apartments were very well laid out, but they weren't nearly as big as my apartment. It was fully equipped. They had all the appliances. However, the washer and dryer were the stacked ones, rather than the full-sized ones. I'm not very tall. I'm barely 5 feet, so it would be hard for me to reach the stacked ones. The staff who took me around was very knowledgeable, very friendly, and very helpful with any questions I had. They offered assistance by calling at any point in time with any questions.

We moved into Holiday Greenwood Terrace. It was a great value for the money. I was impressed with the cleanliness. The staff is probably very overworked, but they seem to do a lot and handle a lot of things very well. They're just very gracious hostesses. The meals are served at very specific times though (I would rather have a window of time). The food is alright. I haven't participated in too many of the activities yet, but they look pretty good. Our apartment is spacious and very nice, just a little short on storage. They have a small gym with some equipment. They have a very nice library, a chapel, and quite a few religious activities.

We toured Greenwood Terrace. The staff was very informative and helpful; they gave us all the information we needed to make this big decision. The accommodation is exactly what my brother needs. It's a studio apartment, and I'm very thankful to find a place that provides meals, an alert system, and lots of activities for the residents. They supply some transportation for outings and trips to Target and Walmart. They have a very large dining room, they have areas where they do activities like bingo and card games, and they have a pool table. They have laundry facilities on each floor. It appears clean and neat, and it smells clean too. I think that's kind of important when you're looking at facilities for extra care. You can pay extra to get help, like physical therapy or assistance with bathing once or twice a week. The tour was very good. We saw a menu, and although we didn't eat there, we saw a lot of variety on the menu. That's the only one we looked at; we were so pleased with it that we didn't see the need to look at another one.

We liked Greenwood Terrace, but it was not any of our favorites. I think they did not have an in-unit laundry, and that was important to my mother. She didn't want to walk down the hall, so she ruled that one out. I liked the apartment, and the people who were there. The lady who showed us around was wonderful. She was very nice, very thorough, and spent a lot of time with us. She was great. The apartments were pretty standard, but they were exactly what my mom would need. I actually thought the cleanliness was good, but my mother didn't think it was as clean as the other places. We met a lady who lived there, and she was happy and really liked it there. She highly recommended the place.

We took a tour of Greenwood Terrace, and they had a really nice apartment. The problem was they didn't have any windows in the living area. It kind of made you feel like you're in a cave. It was one of the better ones we saw, but the rooms weren't good. The staff was very good. I had no problems with them at all. The place had a good location. It's just that the apartment they showed us didn't have any windows.

I chose Greenwood Terrace because the price was more affordable for my budget. I also like the unit, so I went for it. I like the apartment. It has a lot of closet space, which is nice. Cleanliness is nice, and they keep it up. The staff members are very good. I like them. They're very friendly and helpful. Food could be improved, but for the most part it's OK. They have activities, but I can't partake in them because I work from 8 AM to 4:30 PM. I have to wait until I'm retired before I can partake in the activities. They have activities throughout the day, but they don't have anything during the evening until May 21st. I have to wait until then to be able to participate in the activity in the evening.

My parents are at Greenwood Terrace. It is an independent living, so my parents are free to come and go and to have their lifestyle be as they dictated it while also having all of the services of assisted living, which are the meals, the housekeeping, and the laundry services. They have all of those benefits, but they are not monitored by a staff who controls their comings and goings. The staff is phenomenal. They're very friendly, very helpful, and very accommodating. The care is resourced separately. It is a service that comes in, so it is like an assisting hands kind of thing that is contracted separately from Greenwood Terrace, and that is done whatever my parents need and there's no upcharge by Greenwood Terrace. I work with them directly. The apartments are beautiful, very neutral colored, with big windows, neutral carpet and flooring, and updated flooring. There's a kitchenette in each room which is enough. They have a sink, cabinets, and refrigerator and that's all they need. They were able to get a two-bedroom, two-bath apartment for the same price as a one-bedroom, one-bath at the other assisted living facilities. The price is extremely reasonable. The food is great, has lots of choices, very American food, and very comfortable. They can mix and match the menu and if they just don't like what's for dinner or lunch, the chef is more than happy to make them a grilled cheese or a peanut butter jelly, something so that they have a meal even if they don't like what's on the menu. The kitchen isn't open to guests though. The dining room is still only for residents. They have a daily bible study and a chapel on Sundays, they have weekly events where social distancing can be maintained, they have a happy hour on Fridays, a donut day on Saturdays, and an ice cream social on Sundays. On Thursdays, they have a pop-up store, so they have a volunteer who goes out to the Dollar Store or local grocery stores and brings in household goods, candies, snacks, toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, razors, and they can buy them right there and not have to go out. We were not happy about the assisted living idea, but Greenwood Terrace has made it very pleasant for us. Everything is new, clean, and neutral, and the decor is modern.

Greenwood Terrace is too small for what I need. Financially, it's closer to what I can afford, but I need something larger than the room they had there. Theirs were mainly studios and I looked at a one-bedroom apartment that was about the size of the living room I have here in my current place. It's just me and my dog, but I also have two large chairs and a queen size bed. They want all of those to fit in the living room, because there's no difference between the living room and bedroom except the bedroom is smaller. Jessica, the one who accommodated me, was very, very nice. She's very well informed, and I enjoyed the conversation that we had. They had a lot of amenities. They had a nice, large dining area where all of their residents ate. They had a nice gym area. They had a lot of different activities for the people that live there. The more I thought about it though, after I got home to my larger one-bedroom, I thought that's not going to work at all. In their kitchen they also just had a sink and a refrigerator. I have more than that in my current place.

My father moved into Greenwood Terrace. I think they're amazing, and they're very good. Right now, they're bringing breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks to the rooms of the residents. They have activities, but my dad is not interested in partaking in them, so I haven't become familiar with everything. The apartment is fine and meets his needs. He's frustrated because it doesn't have a stove of any sort, it's just like a tiny kitchenette, but it's a safe, clean, and friendly place for him to be.

My mother moved into Greenwood Terrace. The staff is very helpful and courteous, we've had nothing but good experience, and they're doing everything they can to keep the people safe and well. I think they've done a good job with that based on all the information they're sharing with us, and they've been very successful in dealing with their staff and the residents. We're very pleased. The room is nice with lots of lighting, it's an older facility, we have a studio room, and it has enough space for mom. The bathroom is private, separated, she has a sink, and a full-size refrigerator. The rooms are individually cooled and heated. They have basic cable, it's sufficient for mother, she has a little patio on the ground floor, and she can sit there if she wants too. They've had minimal amounts of activities, the dining room has been closed, and we've not been able to visit her. We've been able to share a meal before she moved in. I think they had 4 entree selections. The dining room was nice and spacious, they had staff that came around, and my mother could order beverages. They take them to the table, and they would take the order as they brought the beverages. Everything was served in a seating capacity, so they didn't have to get up and move around. The food was quite delicious. We're looking forward to them getting back open so we can share some meals with her again.

Greenwood Terrace is very nice and clean. They take care of my friend, and she hasn't had any complaints to me. They seem to do a fine job. It looks new, and the residents who are out of their rooms are active. They have games, movies, and Bingo. The staff members all seem very pleasant and friendly. Someone comes in every week, cleans her room and changes her bed. She says they're really nice people.

I toured Greenwood Terrace and my experience was just medium on everything. The dining was the part I didn't like the most. It just looked kind of dingy and not as good as the other placed I had visited. The tour itself was OK, it just didn't strike me as a place where I want to live. The person who assisted us during the tour was OK, just not impressive. They seemed to have the normal types of activities like rooms for art, trips around the area, and shopping trips. Maybe they hadn't remodeled in a while. It just wasn't kept as neat as the other places I visited. There seemed to be adequate parking and it was close by.

I'm pretty impressed with Greenwood Terrace, the people, and the facility. It didn’t look like there was much covered parking there, though. The rooms all had openings to get out to get fresh air, and I was impressed with that. I was impressed with the dining area and everybody sits down at the same time. They also had a room which you can rent if somebody comes to visit you and you can eat right there which was also impressive.

I liked Greenwood Terrace better as they had people all the time if you need help. The managers seemed knowledgeable, and they interacted with the residents and asked them what they were doing. I really liked the rooms; they were very nice. We ate lunch, and the food was good. They had people and a band come in to sing songs. I really enjoyed talking to the people and got to see the people. Greenwood Terrace and its staff were very nice, though something happened to the person who was supposed to show us around, so another person showed us around. We chose Greenwood Terrace because we felt that their value compared to other facilities were much higher than average. They serve excellent meals, and their staff was friendly. Their housekeeping is excellent. They provide a maid service to help the apartment. The maids were extremely helpful and friendly. The overall feel of the community was friendly. The activities were what my mother would enjoy doing. They have bird shows or live animals which my mom enjoys. Everything else was good. They have places for the residents to sit down if they get tired.

I was at Greenwood Terraces in Lenexa. It is in under another name like Holiday Retirement. I just wasn't terribly impressed. They have different services that you can subscribe to. It is independent, yet they have scheduled transportations. I can't tell you where it went, but it could be probably Wal-Mart or something.

When I visited Greenwood Terrace for my parents, they didn't know I was coming. I just walked in to get information. What I didn't like about it when you walked in, you immediately walked into like a dining area. It gave me more of the nursing home feel, not an independent-retirement-living-facility feel. So initially I didn't like that. I just didn't like the way that felt. They showed me one room and it had no furniture in it. It was a two-bedroom and it was very chopped up, like the rooms weren't square. The person who toured me said, "We have another two-bedroom where the rooms are square, but this is the only one I had that I could show you today." So just by that, I like the other place better immediately. However, the one that showed me around, she was very welcoming, very nice, and very friendly. She called me back. They did have daily activities. They had shopping trips and movie nights.

However, I thought they needed to update the place, like the hallways, to give it a more warm feeling when you walk in.

I am in Greenwood Terrace. Everybody is very friendly. I enjoy the other residents' company. They are willing to accommodate me, as my apartment burned down. They keep an eye on the residents without us really feeling like we are watched or having no privacy. Everybody is aware that everybody needs help. There's quite a variety of activities. There is popcorn and movies on Saturday night. We will a have Mother's Day luncheon tomorrow. There is bingo and poker. They have happy hour once or twice a month, and they have live entertainment that comes in. I would recommend them to others.

The residents seemed to be pretty much people who would go around on their own. They have activities over there. They have exercise classes and card games. The place looked very inviting. I could live there if I feel like I can afford it. They have a big dining room, and they gave me a copy of the menu. It looked like there wasn’t anything that I couldn’t eat. It looked like a good place to live if you can afford it.

We chose Greenwood Terrace because even if it was an independent living facility, it still offered three meals a day. There were also medical staff present during the day and resident director 24-hours a day. If they needed help with the medicines, there was a nurse. The place of my parents-in-law had one bedroom, a living area, bathroom, small sink, refrigerator and microwave. My father-in-law played the piano and they had a grand piano. He enjoyed playing it and the other residents enjoyed listening to him. There was transportation available if you wanted to go some place. They had a new chef and the food served was better. The staff were nice and helpful, they never complained about them. They were happy there.

The food is inedible, there is no care given to dietary requirements for individuals (diabetes, low sodium, non spiced food). The budget amount per person per day for food is about $4. Meals are served at 12:30 and 5pm. It takes approx. 1 1/2 hours for the meals to be served from salad to desert. Housekeeping is vacuuming and cleaning bathroom only. If you use their linen service you must use their sheets (sandpaper). All laundry is washed in home style washer dryers (not commercial). No dusting is done unless you have nothing on the flat surface. Although I thought it was a good idea to have managers live in the complex, I have changed my mind. If your parent falls or needs help, the managers dial 911 - that is all they are allowed to do. The managers main concern is keeping the apartments filled - not retaining residents! There is no handicap transportation. There is only one elevator for 3 floors of people using various types of transportation. Heating and cooling in units are old motel type units! If you interview to live here - Come more than once to eat - ask to be seated with someone who already lives there, not at a table by yourself or with the sales person. Get in writing what your rent will be and what the increases will be. This for sure a "renter beware) situation.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I lived at Greenwood and was terribly disappointed in the food. They do not have a nurse on staff and we were told we had to be independent to live there. Apartments are broken into and security deposits not returned. Very disappointed with the whole place. I was afraid for my safely and moved as soon as I could make arrangements.

I visited this facility

Greenwood is located in the heart of Johnson county, Kansas. They pride themselves on being one of the few facilities that offer many extras to their residents. They provide the residents with bimonthly health talks on various topics like diabetes, balance and nutrition. I was given a tour of the facilities by the administrator which included a spacious cafe and a library. Greenwood is a cross between a nursing facility and a over 55 community. The residents have their own vehicles and still continue to maintain their independence. The greatest feature of this facility is the staff. they truly care about the residents and they put a great deal of effort into promotion and staff. The regional director, Andy, was very kind and while I was there he answered all the questions I had about cost, insurance and onsite nursing. Their is also a 24 hour nurse on hand to address non-emergency medical problems. The grounds are kept very clean and well maintained. Another thing I noticed upon entering the facility is that it did NOT smell like a typical nursing home. All in all I give this place high praise and a top rating. I highly recommend.

I visited this facility

The facility itself was fairly nice at Greenwood Terrace but nothing exceptional. The rooms were clean and had windows and were fairly plain, residents had to furnish and decorate the rooms themselves. The food offered was actually very good for an assisted living community. They offered several different items per meal as well as many standard options. They had white and dark meat chicken as well as rolls and mashed potatoes which were all surprisingly good. They also offered desserts such as cookies, cake, pie, and ice cream which all appeared very to be delicious. The residents were not all in good health but seemed to be reasonably healthy and happy considering the venue. The employees were all very nice and helpful when needed but were fairly busy and uninvolved. Overall for an assisted living community it seemed to be okay but it was not the best one I have seen. Other than the actual quality of the residence (room size, appearance, etc.) there are not too many places that offer a better place in the same price range.
