"It's quiet there at Brookdale Wornall Place, even though it's kind of in a busy area. It doesn't have anything behind it. There are fields there. Even though you're not very far off the road, it still feels like you're out in the country. The room has a small kitchen and a refrigerator. We looked at a couple of one-bedrooms. The staff who toured me around was very knowledgeable. It seems like he has been in the business for several years. He was very patient. I had my dog with me, and he took that well, too. The place was clean. I didn't smell anything. They got friendly staff. When you walk in, they got a large entryway. You don't have to walk up any stairs or anything. I noticed that they got ramps. We took the elevator, and we took the stairway, too. They have an underground, which was nice."

"I elected a two bedroom unit in the Independent Living Space and I love it. The apartment is moderately sized with big closets and nice bathrooms. I have enjoyed my interactions with the staff that I have met,"

"I went to The Madison Senior Living. It's very open. I didn't see a lot of diversity in the community, but the staff was nice. The patients that were walking around were pretty friendly. The dining area was nice. It was open and bright with a lot of windows, but I didn't try the food. The staff who gave the tour was nice. He answered all my questions and answered things that I didn't think I needed answers to."

"I tour St Anthony's; I like they have all levels of care, The views from the apartments were beautiful and spotless. The food is incredible. the activities and exercise were great always had residents busy. The staff was so friendly and nice."

"The Crestone Senior Living looked great. It was very clean. I love the staff. The girl who took me around was wonderful. Their food service was like going to a restaurant. It's very nice. The girl also introduced me to some of the people who were there. I liked them. It's brand new. It's only nine years old. So, it's very, very clean, very friendly, and very updated."

"We liked it here. The two-bedroom apartment was spacious. We liked the idea of having the washer and dryer in it. They had a lot of activities and that's what I was kind of going for. The apartment had a kitchen and a microwave, a full stove, and a full-size refrigerator. We were looking at the independent living and then we could go down and eat our meals downstairs. They had what they call the bistro and the day we were there, they were having prime rib and it smelled delicious. They have a theater room where at night, you can go in and watch movies, and I thought that was unique. They play bingo. You can go down and do cards or work puzzles and they take little trips. There was a bus parked in the parking lot. They had a beautiful courtyard where you could go out and sit. They had awnings or umbrellas over the bench to help you from the sun."

"I was very impressed with Elliott Place, even before I pulled up and came in. The location is very clean and very upkept. The apartments were just wonderful. The setup was nice. Nice space. Washer and dryer accessibility. Activity available if you like. Good transportation services are needed when needed. The management was excellent. She was very concerned and very attentive. She wanted to help in any way she could. Great location in Raytown. You could buy everything you could think of, from grocery stores to a little convenience store, to shopping secondhand, and to every restaurant you could think of. I would rate it very highly. I would tell everybody about it. I haven't tasted the food, but I saw the food in the tray, and it looked very nice. I like that you can add extra if you want. You get a cleaning service in your apartment and food delivered or picked up. You can do a la carte. Like they may have something special that particular day that you like, and you can go over and order your meal then."

"My mother-in-law moved into Carnegie Village Senior Living Community. One of the things we like the most is that her apartment is very up-to-date, very spacious, and even though she doesn't cook, or cook much, it still has a full kitchen. So, it really makes it feel more like a home. It's very upkept, very clean. They are in the process of updating all of the outer areas of the assisted living. Right now it's a little dated, but they were going to start construction soon. The independent living is completely up-to-date, very beautiful, and very attractive. I'm hoping that the assisted living will look that good when they finish with it too. They have been very responsive to any concerns that we have had. I'm there a lot with my mother-in-law, and they have come in to explain to her -- for example, she was going to have physical therapy, and she had not met the therapist, but the woman stopped in earlier in the day just to introduce herself and explain to her that she would be coming by later to do the physical therapy. I just thought that was just a nice touch. They didn't just show up and say, "Hey, we're doing physical therapy." I just thought they did a great job. They do have a beauty salon right there at the entrance to the assisted living. The problem is my mother-in-law is not really willing to do a lot of things. I do know that they post activities every week. They post them in the elevator, they post them in the hallways, they send out fliers to all the residents. I've even been there when a staff member came by just to let my mother-in-law know that bingo was getting ready to take place, and if she'd like to come down. They've just done a great job of trying to encourage her to participate."

"We are in the process of moving my father-in-law into Solstice Senior Living at Lee's Summit. He hasn't moved in yet, but we have a projected date. It's clean and very friendly. They offer the things that we need with three meals a day and a lot of activities and things like that. Everyone was very professional. They have an association with aging in place, which allows a lot of options to be added onto the independent living without having to go into assisted living, so it saves quite a bit of money for the individual. The staff was very knowledgeable. They answered questions well. We were there during lunchtime and saw what people were eating. It looked good, and it looked well-balanced. They also have physical therapy, speech therapy, and stuff, so those options are there. It's a well-rounded community. The place is very clean. They have amenities. They also have a theater room and stuff, too."

"Meeting with the administrator at The Groves was a fantastic experience. She had a lot of knowledge and explained the services that were offered. She also gave me a tour. She was just an incredibly warm and compassionate person who understood everything I was looking for, my description of my brother, and the type of services he is going to need. We were looking for long-term assisted living care. My brother doesn't need a lot of assistance right now, but he does need some, and they have exactly what he needs. They have light housekeeping, meals are provided, some oversight of medication administration, and just plain checking on the residents to make sure they're doing well. It was a very pleasant place, very clean, and overall a comfortable home-like setting. The residents seemed to know each other, and the administrator seemed to know by name everybody we encountered on my visit. It was just truly a home-like atmosphere. I viewed mostly the rooms and the main area there, and I loved it."

"I went to Connect55+ Independence and met with the manager, Amy. She was just very enjoyable and very friendly. She gave me a walk-through of the one and two-bedroom apartments, but I believe the one-bedroom was already taken. For the price, it is well worth it. They have a gym. It's very independent. If you're in good health and everything, it is a great place to live. I looked at the one-bedrooms and they were pretty spacious. They have a nice closet and liked that they have a separate laundry in the apartments. The kitchens were pretty modern. I was just impressed with the whole thing. It was very clean and very neat. To me, parking is everything. I'm 67 and I'm very active. I come and go, so the parking lot has to be pretty well-lit, and I would feel very safe living there."

"We looked at The Princeton Senior Living. They were clean and professional. They offered the services that we would have wanted. We didn't try the food, but they offered us beverages."

"I visited Senior Star at Wexford Place. They have all the amenities I want. It's a little on the older side, but it's well kept. The people are wonderful. There's a pool. It's a little smaller than the other place, which appeals to me. The people who assisted me during the tour were wonderful."
