My friend has moved into here. We like the location, the facility itself, and the marketing person. It's a one-bedroom that we got to furnish for her, and she was able to bring her own things with her. It's a nice-sized room. I have not tasted the food, but she seems satisfied. They have a wide variety of activities, and I saw a calendar. She has not participated in anything yet, but they play games, they have a little theater for movies, they have ice-cream socials and a happy hour every week, they have special events like a Super Bowl party, they do crafts, and there are times when they take the residents out for drives around the city. They have a beauty salon and a gym, and they offer physical therapy. It had everything that we needed for her. It met our needs, so it's a good value.

We liked it here. The two-bedroom apartment was spacious. We liked the idea of having the washer and dryer in it. They had a lot of activities and that's what I was kind of going for. The apartment had a kitchen and a microwave, a full stove, and a full-size refrigerator. We were looking at the independent living and then we could go down and eat our meals downstairs. They had what they call the bistro and the day we were there, they were having prime rib and it smelled delicious. They have a theater room where at night, you can go in and watch movies, and I thought that was unique. They play bingo. You can go down and do cards or work puzzles and they take little trips. There was a bus parked in the parking lot. They had a beautiful courtyard where you could go out and sit. They had awnings or umbrellas over the bench to help you from the sun.

It was nice. One of the things that I liked about it was that everything was on the first floor. So, it's easily attainable. Plus the location was in between where all the family members live. I liked that the one-bedroom apartment was at a lower cost for independent living. The staff was excellent.

The visit here was wonderful. The woman that gave me the tour was terrific. She explained everything and showed me everything. I felt very comfortable there. I know that my brother-in-law and his wife would be very comfortable there. They could start out as independent living, which is what I toured. He will eventually end up in memory care. I like the sizes of the rooms. I like the social gathering areas. Everything was lovely. They have a restaurant, which is nice. They offer a bus to take you places. They have social gatherings at different times of the day. It seems like quite a wonderful community. It was pretty scarce people-wise the day that I was there. I don't know why, but there were just a couple of people. There were three people in one of the little breakfast lunch area. They were just having their coffee and chatting, but I didn't have a chance to talk to them. Those are the only people I really saw. There were a couple of people coming and going, but that was it. I met the social director and also the activities director. They were both lovely.

It was a nice place. I was impressed with it. There are two different types of rooms that my husband could have, one is a single room and the other one is a room with a bedroom. They all had their own bathroom and it was large enough for someone in a wheelchair to be comfortable and move around. It was also clean. The lady who took me on the tour was very helpful, very thoughtful, and very understanding about what we were going through. She introduced me to different departments and I met the person who does the physical therapy, the person assigned for the food or the kitchen, and the person who operates the activity room. It used to be a hotel and it's right on the corner of I-35 and 151st Street and right next to the hospital. So there's a lot of traffic, but when you got inside you couldn't hear anything. The rooms were from the original hotel too. It was quite well used properly and already organized that way. It was pretty good. They had two tables where people could just come in, sit down, and work on a large puzzle. They also do different things each day, like paintings and other stuff. They showed me one room and it was a nice room.

It so far has been very good. I chose this place for my mother because they have memory certification. I wanted a place for when my mom progresses so we wouldn't have to move her again. The staff is very friendly and caring. Their rooms are outstanding, the place is practically brand new. They have nice common areas and very comfortable living areas. We got her a one-bedroom, which is the biggest; they have two choices: the studio and one-bedroom. They have events, but in the COVID environment everything has been curtailed. But in the normal world, they would take them to play bingo and on outings. They have really nice dining facilities, but right now everyone is eating in their rooms. It is expensive.
