"I went to Brookdale Wornall Place. It was great, the place was clean, and it looked modern all over. I understand it has been established for quite some time. It looked really nice, and I would recommend it to someone who's looking. The staff was fantastic; they could not have been nicer. Everything was spotless, everything looked modern, but the bedrooms were a little too small, and there was not room for both a bedroom and a chest. The only difference would be a few of the amenities that come with the room, and the size of the rooms. The larger the rooms, the better. I liked that it was all in one building. When you walk in, the first thing you see is a stairway and the lobby, and it is absolutely beautiful."

"Mission Chateau is an incredible place. It seems like they offer every amenity that would be available to anybody. You could tell when you walk in that it was way above the budget for my wife. I thought I had an appointment, but I didn't. The staff (her name is Lisa) came down and visited with me, even though she had some other appointments coming in. I spent about 10 minutes with her, and I was very impressed. I waited for a little while for her and was able to see interaction between front desk and staff. It looked like the employees seemed very competent, and it was a great place to go. You walk in, and it was like, 'Wow. This is a great place.' The one-bedroom would be the one that I would be interested in, and it was larger than most that I've seen. The facility was not very old. Everything looked perfect. They had a lot of outdoor areas that were nicely done."

"Sunrise of Overland Park was very nice, but it was a large community, so it didn’t really feel very home-like. The staff members were great, personable, and very good. Among all the communities we have visited, we rank this one as the second. Most of the rooms were studios."

"I had toured Armour Oaks Senior Living before. Because of the virus we were supposed to do a virtual tour, but everything was the same. The staff just sent me several pictures also, and it was just the same when I visited. They were very helpful though. The staff who assisted me was very nice. I didn't get to see any residents. The apartments were small, but doable for someone who's by themselves. It was basically two rooms; it wasn't an apartment. It was just a room that you could put a bed and maybe a TV in there, the living room area, which was the bigger room, then the bathroom off the bedroom."

"My Mom spent her last 10 months at Carroll Park. While the facility is older with smaller double rooms, the staff makes it special. The staff does not sit around looking at their cell phones (a significant problem I had seen at other facilities), and were very responsive and compassionate to the residents. The family ownership and dedicated staff created a more comfortable and homelike feeling. They reached out and made my Mom feel loved and special. It was as good of a stay as could be hoped for under not good circumstances."

"We are residents of the Garden Villas of Lenexa. What we like best is that we have an adequate apartment size, and the least, sometimes they're a little slow with their maintenance, otherwise it's OK. They're short-staffed a lot. But the food is good, it's laid out OK, and they keep the place clean."

"The Village was a front runner for our family. The placement did not occur but we were impressed with the admissions process. Valerie was very helpful and informative to help our family understand Eldercare and our options. The Village at Mission offers so many options to streamline the care your family member needs. We were there at mealtime and noticed that the residents seemed content and were interacting. The dining room and common areas are attractive and welcoming. The new ownership is working on remodeling to modernize the facility even more. We saw a couple of rooms. Both were well apportioned and had nice window views. "

"My mom happily settled into Trustwell Living at Mission Springs. The staff is great, and my mother is happy. The rooms looked very nice. They're not big, but my mom has plenty of room. They come and help her. They make sure she doesn't miss her meals and gets her services done. I think it's a fine choice for her. The staff members are very caring, responsive, and competent. They have entertainment, music, storytelling, and games. They have a couple of different lounges with TVs, so they can visit each other. I think it's a great value for the money."

"My husband and I are all set to go to Carnegie Village. Aside from the fact that we don't have to buy our meals when we're there, I also like that there is an assisted living and a nursing home facility attach to this place. My mother is 95 and so we can have her with us. Plus, should we need some respite from her, we could just place her in their respite care wing right down the hall. Regarding accommodation, we will have a spacious two-bedroom apartment, which is on the first floor. We have a bay window there. We don't have a patio-type of thing but since we are right next to the outside door, that's not a big issue for us. We have a small dog, so we are able to take her out. During our visit, we actually went into a little cafe that they have there and it was very good. We had lunch and the food was good as well. "

"I've been here at Brookdale Rosehill for rehab for about 2 months now. I like their occupational and physical therapy. They're caring. I haven't had any complaints about the staff here. My room has an ADA-compliant shower. It is a walk-in shower that has handrails all the way around, so everything is accessible to you. The only thing I have to complain about is that the toilets are low. The rooms are big with big closets. The doors are wide. I have a wheelchair, and I can get in and out the doors - the bathroom door and the entry door. They got me an air mattress because they noticed that I was getting sores. I have a television, a reclining chair, and a regular chair. Some of the rooms have carpet and then some of the rooms have hardwood floors, and I'm in one with the hardwood floor. The staff is fine. There was one time when they were very short-staffed with CNAs. They serve meals and they're pretty good. I haven't had any complaints about the meals. They give you a menu the day before to choose what you want to eat for the next day. We get three meals a day, and then they have snacks out by the kitchen, like fruits and chips. Each day, they say what activities they do on the calendar. The only thing that I've experienced is group occupational therapy. When I first came here, they gave me a book on the things that they do here. They said there is an emotional dog that would come to your room, but they haven't had a dog come here. I'm looking for the dog to come, but it hasn't happened."

"The staff and the manager were much better than the other place I visited. It would have been the place my parents would have gone to. The room that they could afford seemed to be bigger. They had a two-bedroom unit, and they had what they called the super studio with a pretty good size room. It had a bathroom, a walk-in shower, and a little kitchen. They really liked Avonlea. They met the needs of mom and dad. They had an activity room where they did paintings and some dancing. There was a garden out back. "
