My mother has moved into the Parkway Senior Living. Everything's great. I think the level of care is superb there. They pay close attention to detail and they're very welcoming to my mother. The facility is very clean, very organized, and well put together. They've got a movie theater, they play bingo, they have several places to eat, they have bus trips to go shopping or the movies, and a lot of different types of games and live music. The staff is great. They're very nice. Mom says the food is good. Everything there is superb.

The Parkway Senior Living is a lovely place. I liked it very much. They had some amenities, which I liked. Especially the exercise community, where they had a hot pool and all that kind of thing. They served three meals a day. But it was just outrageously expensive according to my budget. I love the staff. There is no problem at all with the staff. They have a wonderful activities director and social director. They have a receptionist at the front door. All the administration seems very good.

We went to The Parkway Senior Living. The tour was just fine. They were having lunch when we were there. The lady who took us on the tour was nice and would talk to the seniors who were staying or living there. She knew them by name walking down the hallways and stuff like that. We liked that one until we saw a lot of the assisted living seniors there. We figured that our mother probably wouldn't go for it because there were a lot of them there. I'm not sure if the assisted living was there with the independent living. But it was a little depressing. The facility was great. And even the staff was great. The rooms for the assisted living were kind of depressing, too. But touring it and seeing everything is sad for some of them. They had a little bit of a salon. Then they had a very nice dining area, and there was a little bit of a courtyard there.

I had an in-person tour of The Parkway Senior Living. They had awesome activities for the residents. It's a beautiful facility. All of the people I met, the staff, and the other residents I met were extremely nice and caring. It was just way outside of our price range. The menu was very varied. It was like it would cater to anybody's needs.

I toured The Parkway Senior Living. The thing I liked the best was the one-on-one care that they gave the memory patients. They catered to what each person needed. The building was extremely clean, very light, and bright. Wide walkways. They had a back garden which was a very nice place for the residents to go out and get to enjoy the sunshine and relax outside.

My favorite was the Parkway Senior Living. They were the friendliest. I came out in the afternoon when they were having some activity going on, and the people all seemed very happy. I did get to eat there, and the food was delicious. It was restaurant style. You didn't have to be there at an exact certain time. They have a nice variety and they always have fruits and vegetables for people to get any time. The apartments were very roomy, very nicely set up, and they had full kitchens. It had kind of a bar thing where you look out over the living room. It's very, very nice. All the people that we met there seemed really happy and friendly. It's more homey and it seemed like everybody was enjoying themselves. I really, really liked the place. If I could have afforded it, I would have stayed there.

We visited The Parkway Senior Living. We discussed all of the levels of care, but we only saw the independent. The person who gave the tour was very pleasant. Not only am I looking for my parents, but also my mother-in-law and maybe one other person. We talked through all of the care that would be needed for all of those people. They sort of explained the different levels of care, whether it be independent living versus assisted living. They don't do skilled nursing, and one of our people may need skilled nursing. The apartment that we viewed was a little small, but it seemed very nice. They provide meals. The people that were there seemed very happy. It looked very nice, well taken care of, and clean. We liked it. The staff gave us other options that might be less expensive to view, so it's extremely helpful.

The Parkway Senior Living was fancy and nice. They had everything there. They had chefs and a restaurant, but my mother-in-law couldn't afford it. They didn't have any openings anyway. I visited mainly the memory care, but we pretty much saw the entire building. The staff was very helpful. We saw the residents eating. It's like a restaurant and they seemed to be enjoying it. The rooms were very nice. They had a library and they brought in a band every two weeks.

The Parkway Senior Living was very nice. I was pretty impressed with them. The lady that gave the tour was very nice and very knowledgeable. I enjoyed spending time with her. It was a nice facility overall, but it was an older facility though and it didn't quite meet the needs that the newer facilities that they built did. The rooms were smaller than I expected. I would have liked a little bit more storage space for my parents. The dining area was nice. I liked the meal selections that they had and the number of meals that they provided to the residents every day. It was a restaurant kind of atmosphere. I saw areas where they could gather if they wanted to. They also have puzzles, outing activities, and stuff like everybody else did. The activities were pretty average.

The Parkway Senior Living's pricing seemed OK, but it seemed like a long way to get our groceries from the garage up to the apartment. The apartment has a small dining area, a kitchen, a living room, a bedroom, and a closet. They furnish the appliances like a stove and a refrigerator, but you have to bring your own furniture. We enjoyed the tour, and we liked the setup of the place. All meals were provided and the dining area was like a restaurant. We went to the dining room and I was able to order what I wanted. The food was great, and I was impressed with it.

The Parkway Senior Living was very clean and bright. They have friendly staff. Residents seemed happy. The apartments were very nice. The staff who accommodated me was very, very pleasant. The dining area was nice and adequate. They have a lot of activities. They have transportation. The apartments were full apartments with full kitchens. The size was adequate. The one-bedroom was a little small for what my sister would want, and they did not have any two bedrooms. But it was a very nice facility.

The Parkway Senior Living is very helpful and very caring. If we have a question, they answer it. It's clean and we've been very happy having my in-laws there. The food is good and I haven't heard any complaints from them. It's secure, well taken care of, and smells good. It doesn't smell like a nursing home. It's also updated. They do all kinds of things in the memory care. They have scheduled activities three or four times a day, and then they post videos of them doing the activities on their Facebook page. They've done dancing, games, worship services, Taco Tuesdays, and just all kinds of things. The people are engaged and look like they are having a good time.

We chose The Parkway Senior Living for my aunt. We toured it twice. The location is close to where I live. It is brand new, and everything is brand new and beautiful. The kitchen is restaurant style, so you can have like eight or 10 choices for every single meal. It's a very nice facility. The staff is very professional and the rooms are bigger than any other assisted living we've seen. This is a high quality, very ritzy place. They have a movie theater. They have activities for nine or ten hours of the day. Everything is clean, freshly painted, and smells good. It's insanely nice.

The Parkway in Blue Springs has been great. My dad has been in the memory care. So far, we're very pleased with the facility. The employees have been very friendly and very helpful. It seems like he's responding well to the program. Sometimes when we've gone out there, we've seen that he has been out in the common area, not just sitting in this room, and that was a plus. They had a different dining room when he was still at their independent living area, and the food was excellent.

My tour at The Parkway Senior Living was just fine. It was a close call for me to choose between this one and another place but they're both owned by the same company. It was very good; I don't have any negative reviews about it. The community layout was extremely good; I prefer that location. The staff that accommodated me during the tour was wonderful and I like him very much. He was very friendly, very nice, and very knowledgeable and anything he needed to be as far as being welcoming; he's a good person. The cleanliness of the facility was acceptable by all means; the apartments were lovely and they had some nice apartments and I loved the color scheme with a couple of them. But it's not brand-new.

I'm pretty pleased with The Parkway Senior Living. Corey was a wonderful individual to work with. I wanted to see what a happy hour looks, so he set that up for me and gave me tickets for free drinks. I went back and I didn't tell him I was going. I came in to check out dinner and as I was getting ready to pay, he went in and got me two tickets for free dinner. We enjoyed that and I enjoyed the happy hour as well. They have a craft room and they have a very active group. They also have different groups like for quilting. They're very friendly.

We visited The Parkway Senior Living. The staff seemed accommodating, we made an appointment with the person in charge of admission, and they were very friendly. They asked a lot of questions about my dad to make sure they could meet his needs, and we had a nice tour of the grounds. It looked very nice, very clean, it smelled wonderful, and it just seemed well taken care of.

The Parkway Senior Living is an excellent place. The facilities, the rooms, and common areas are all brand new and looked very clean, modern, and updated. It looked like a very comfortable place to live. The people that are on-board are very friendly, helpful, and professional. They also invited us to come back anytime for lunch. The dining facility looked very good.

We went to The Parkway Senior Living. Their grounds weren't quite as big, but they're well kept. The rooms were nice. The advantage there was they had stoves and microwaves in there. The food was good. The people were friendly. However, you don't get your deposit back because they use it to fund the activities. It's pretty well located. They have a movie theater, and they're building a wave pool, which was closed because they were still water proofing it. They do concerts and have buses to take you to the doctors. It's very clean.

The staff in Parkway Senior Living is great to work with. They really seem to care about my father-in-law, and they're very helpful and attentive. His apartment is good-sized considering he's in the memory care unit. The bathroom is huge and handicap-accessible, has a walk-in shower, and the unit has a full closet and big windows. It feels very residential, almost like I'm in a house.

The Parkway Senior Living is in my neighborhood and I have gone there several times with my church choir. It’s pretty and fairly new. The people there were extremely nice. We saw two really nice apartments. They have safe entry and exit whereby you have to buzz your way in and buzz your way out. It’s close to Walmart, so it’s convenient for shopping, and they offer transportation.

The Parkway Senior Living had very nice rooms. The staff was nice and friendly and even checked in on me. Every now and then, I got a call from their director to see how my buddy and I were doing and if there was anything that they could do for me. Their dining area was big. It was a very nice place. They had an exercise room and programs. It was clean inside and out.

The Parkway is a smaller place and didn't have as many apartments, but it was fine. Their dining area didn't seem very big, but it was OK. You can just come and go and eat what you want to. It seemed really small, and the area with the TV seemed kind of small to me too. The staff I met was informative, and he was very nice, but wasn't as personal. He was more like a salesman. They were OK. It was brand-new and clean, but it didn't appeal to me as much.

The room at The Parkway Senior Living was approximately 800 or more square feet, 2 bedrooms, full kitchen, fairly large closets, and a really nice patio. It was very clean, wonderful, and beautiful. It's very reasonably priced and includes all utilities, cable, all the amenities, and meals.

My first impression with The Parkway was good, but as we went along, I found stuff that’s not good. Their nurses are not really good about charting, you can’t read it if they do, and you can’t get hold of a doctor when you need them. My husband’s room was very small; their food was nasty, but It was near my place.

The Parkway was absolutely first class, top notch, and the newest of all the facilities we visited. It was the cream of the crop but out of our price range and didn't offer a full continuum of care. The facility was very nice, had top-notch staff, and modern. They didn't have any Medicaid bids for the future if my parents should live an extended period of time and run out of money. The staff members we interacted with were very professional, polite, and outgoing.

The rooms at The Parkway Senior Living need to be furnished by your own furniture. The place is fine for someone who knows what is going on and can enjoy the social life that is going on there.

The Parkway was the first one we visited. The people were nice and I cannot complain about that, but the building had a cold feeling, and it was not the temperature. Since they’re a newer place, the price was a little higher than the other places I visited. They need decorations or something in the building to give it a warmer feeling.

We were impressed with The Parkway; except that we thought the living quarters were a little bit small. However, I have to say they were not furnished, they were empty. And when the rooms are empty they look a little bit smaller than when it's furnished. I mentioned this to the director. He called about a month ago and asked for a follow up. So he said if we'd like to come out there they can arrange to see a furnished apartment. During the tour the staff was very helpful, very friendly, very informative, and she answered all the questions that we asked. We went through the dining area, but we weren’t there during meal time. But it looked very clean and efficient. The tour was very good.

Parkway Senior Living was very nice, but I did not like the way the kitchens were set up in the rooms. That was my biggest problem, and I would not go there because of it. Instead of having a high, normal kitchen counter, they made it very low. I know that what’s most people need, but I did not like the look of it. I felt that the person who showed us around needed more experience. He didn’t offer coffee or a sit-down meal.
Provider Response
Thank you for visiting The Parkway Senior Living. We want to ensure our communities are the best they can be and appreciate your feedback. We apologize your experience did not meet our goal of being a one-of-a-kind tour, including the opportunity to sample our outstanding culinary menu and beverages, and will work diligently to ensure this does not happen in the future. To address the kitchen countertops, while most are of average height, there is a section designed to provide multi-function use so residents may utilize the space as a table or desk. To ensure the safety of our residents, the height of these counters were determined so that residents did not have to use bar stools, which can pose a fall risk. We take the safety of our residents very seriously, and we apologize that any questions that you may have had were not addressed during your visit. We will work with the team to ensure proper training so all visitors’ questions are answered. We would love to welcome you back to the community and join us for lunch or dinner at your convenience. If you have any additional feedback, please do not hesitate to give us a call at 816-228-8866.

We thought The Parkway was very nice. It was clean and attractive, and the people were very friendly. We went into one apartment, and I really liked the size of the bathroom because you could get a wheelchair in there, turn it around easily, and then take it back out. It's very close to where we're living right now, so it would be easier for our daughter to visit and help us. Also, we're familiar with all of the surroundings and where we normally shop; it's all close, so we liked that. We had one meal there, and the food was very good. It looked like they had a lot of activities scheduled, but we didn't get involved with any.

We visited Parkway Senior Living. It's a brand-new facility, so it's very nice. The staff was nice as well, but it was too expensive for us. The rooms were very nice and include full kitchens. They also have a lot of activities going on all of the time. They have an open dining area with a nice layout where the residents can go any time.

Everybody was very nice at The Parkway Senior Living. It's a new facility, and so everything was very clean and fresh. The thing that was kind of nice was they have a little cafe restaurant that everybody can attend, which is very good for seniors. They also have an exercise room. They also have a big television room for the residents.

We didn't make an appointment or call any in. We happened to be in the area, so we just stopped in The Parkway. They were nice enough to talk to us. They gave us a very abbreviated tour. From what we were able to see, it was still a work in progress. There were constructions going on. It is a new place, and we liked it.

My parents were scheduled to move in the first week of July, The Parkway apartments were not completed on time as promised so they were delayed in moving in until August. As we moved them in, the halls were still in the process of being painted, their apartment had lights hanging from the ceiling, their microwave did not work, new drawers needed repaired, and the dining area was not open yet. The Parkway has been a huge disappointment for my parents and family. Their toilet has overflowed, repaired and continues to be a problem. As of tonight, their toilet does not work, They reported it this morning and were told a plumber would be coming to fix it. No plumber showed up, its bedtime and they have been told to go ahead and use the toilet and :"just don't flush it until morning." What kind of customer service is this? There is nursing service available to check on clients, but is very limited on what they offer. There is not 24/7 hour availability and this facility seems like it is more worried about inspectors and upper management coming around to visit the facility then the actual care and satisfaction of the men and women that pay hard earned money for a big disappointment of senior living.
Provider Response
The Parkway is a new state-of-the-art community. Unfortunately with new construction there comes the risk of delays. The delays were unexpected and not something we wanted for our residents or us. During the first move-ins we knew that there were some areas that would not be finished and punch list items remained. This was communicated to all residents so they could decide whether to wait or move-in while these items were still incomplete. Our restaurant was not open the first month but has now been open for quite a while. While not ideal, we offered catered meals until the full operation could be opened. The items mentioned for this specific resident were unacceptable and immediately corrected. To address the other comments, for clarification, we do not offer nursing services in our Independent Living except through third party home health and rehab companies. Some personal care services are available should someone need it. Given this potential need for extended care services, our Memory Care and Assisted Living will be opening in the coming months. We are constantly striving to become the best community and sincerely apologize for the inconveniences during our opening.

Parkway was beautiful when you go in. The entry way, they were painting it. There is a great room there with a fireplace, and that’s really nice. They were all so polite and so mannerly. I understand there is someone there 24/7. We saw the 1-bedroom, and it has a little kitchen, it has plenty of closet space, and the bedroom was a nice size. It also was on ground floor, and it has a little area with a sliding door where you could go out with your little patio thing. It was very handy-equipped which we definitely would need. The bathroom was enormous, which seemed to me like a little bit of wasted space, but I’m sure there were some reason for that. When they do get of eating facilities in the cafeteria was a really nice set up. White linen type, and you can order anything from the menu from 7AM until 7PM, if you chose to eat there. It wasn’t really, they have certain meal times, but it’s really available anytime. They were having the dining room on the 3rd floor temporarily, and I think they had some problems with rain so they were behind getting in open, and then something flooded and so the kitchen part didn’t get all the equipment in as soon as they thought. The hair salon hadn’t opened yet, but it was very nice.

I like the fact that they were going to have transitional housing available, and it was going to be top of the line technology -- the newest technology -- for my mom. It is a new construction, so we are waiting for another week to move her in because the dining room is not ready. They were very friendly and helpful. It was new construction, so we couldn't see the rooms. We can only see a mock up, but it was going to be very nice. They showed us an example of what they do at another unit. It seems like they have a walking club and outings that they could go to. Maybe they would go to the zoo or to a movie. I haven't really paid close attention, but there was almost something every day. It is within walking distance of quite a few stores and shops. It is very close to a hospital.
