"My mom has been blessed to live at Our Lady of Mercy Country Home. She had not been eating well and was really tired of cooking for herself. The three meals a day have been wonderful for her. Breakfast is delivered to her apartment since she doesn’t get up early. She walks to the cafe for lunch with friends. She, sometimes, walks to dinner and at times, asks for the meal to be delivered if her energy is running low. Mom is 95 years old and loves the library’s selection of books. She plays cards with friends and participates in other activities as she can. Weekly housekeeping is a great perk, as is daily emptying of trash. I feel confident that she is in a caring, comfortable place with friends and staff who care about her and check on her daily. I can relax a little more, just visit when I see her and not feel as much stress about caregiving. I highly recommend that you visit Our Lady of Mercy Country Home and experience the atmosphere of Care with Dignity for yourself."

"I got to The Wellington Senior Living at meal time for lunch and I sat down and had a BLT and it was a pleasant experience. Their hallways were longer than I've experienced, but the facilities were fine. The first time I toured it, I saw the regular independent living facilities and I looked at them closely and I liked them. They're very clean and updated. They looked very fresh and everything like that. I was rather impressed with them. I had two different people that took me on the tour. The first person I had on the first tour was very helpful and let me see what I needed to see. The second person was the one I had lunch with, and he was also just as helpful."

"I liked Armour Oaks. My first impression was that it was very old but very clean, very well-kept and very attractive. They had antique-type furniture. I saw two studios and one two-bedroom. The studios were extremely small, and I could not handle that, but the price was right. The one that I liked was the two-bedroom. All of them were clean and well kept. "

"Brookdale Wornall Place was too big. The units were bigger than what my aunt needed. They had full kitchens in them, and she didn't need that. We didn't like the people that were there. We didn't think the guide that showed us around was really that friendly. When we went to another place, they took us in and they had a folder and stuff ready for us, but this person didn't have anything. She was just like, "Here you are." She showed us around a little bit, but the size of it was the main thing. The cleanliness was good. The residents I saw seemed happy. We liked that they had a little store where you could get necessities and they had candy and other things you might need in there. They showed us the beauty shop, the gym, the pub, and that was kind of interesting. It was very pretty."

"I went to The Madison Senior Living. It's very open. I didn't see a lot of diversity in the community, but the staff was nice. The patients that were walking around were pretty friendly. The dining area was nice. It was open and bright with a lot of windows, but I didn't try the food. The staff who gave the tour was nice. He answered all my questions and answered things that I didn't think I needed answers to."

"It is wonderful. When my husband and I came here the very first time, we just fell in love with the place and the people. They have wonderful meals and services as far as maintenance and helping us set things up and get our TVs going. Everything has just been great. There are lots of activities, but we just moved in this week so we're not doing any activities yet. They have line dancing, golf, field trips, and they have something going on every day. The maintenance man has been here every day trying to help us with different stuff. It's impeccably clean. We have gardens, a little deck, and a courtyard. It's very beautiful, very serene, very nice, and we are happy. It's a great place and you ought to come and check it out because it is wonderful, nice, and we felt right at home the moment we got here. Compared to the other places we looked at, we feel like this is the best bargain and the best for our money. We feel like this is good."

"The tour at Connect55+ Kansas City went well. I really liked what I saw. The property was well-kept. The apartments they showed me were what I was looking for. It all turned out real nice. They had a nice library, a TV room, and a game room. They had a little bit of everything. They had a program coordinator that comes in and works with the residents once a week. The staff during the tour was very pleasant and very knowledgeable. Every apartment had their own kitchen."

"I visited the Garden Villas of Lenexa. I like the layout. I like their use of color. They have lots of activities to choose from. The people I visited who are residents there all have positive things to say about the facility, the staffing, and the meals. It was a very happy, active bunch of people. Some people there need more care, but they're actually in a different part of the building. So, the independent people are not mixed in with those needing more care. The staff all seem very upbeat and interested in helping you find answers if you have questions, or getting the information together to send home with you to look over the activities and different tips outside the facility. They offered to let you come in for two nights and three days and live in one of their room facilities, which they lease out when you have family members come and need a place to stay. You can stay there and go to the meals, and you can go to their activities to see exactly what it's like living there, and that's a valuable thing to offer. They're not your normal senior living. They were very clean. The dining room was interesting. They used more color than most of the facilities do. They had bright turquoise, magenta, and bright gold colors. It was just a very cheerful place, and I have a cat that I would bring in."

"I'm living in North Ridge Cottages in Blue Springs. I really like it because I have a little back patio and privacy. I haven't been here very long, but the few people I've talked to are really nice. I also love the apartment. It's open-concept, wheelchair accessible, and has really wide halls and doors. I have a 2-bedroom, 1 bath, and I'm using one bedroom as an office and storage. I have a garage, and I also have shelves there to store stuff. It's just nice, and I'm close to everything. My doctors are close by, which is what I need."

"I'm pretty much interested in Blue Branch Manor. It doesn't have food involved, but it has very nice, large rooms. They're separate buildings and there are two or three in a pod. It's a lot reasonable and something I can afford. They had a full kitchen, which is beautiful. I really like the person who owns and runs it. It's within walking distance of a bank and a salon and some other things. They take care of the lawn and they take care of the snow removal and trash and things like that, too, which is another thing I was looking for. They had another facility where you could have large group activities that are not very far away. It's easy to get to and really nicely taken care of. They take care of all the maintenance. They have one parking space available for each apartment."

"I will be signing up for an apartment next week at Eastland Court Senior Apartments. It doesn't have the amenities that a lot of the others have, but it's more inexpensive. The manager was very friendly and very helpful. He showed me a couple of places and I decided on that. It's very nice. It's sort of minimal, but for the price, it's OK. It's a good fit. I chose a two-bedroom. It had a full huge kitchen and a walk-in shower, which I needed, and there was a deck. They have one bedroom and two bedrooms, too. They have a lunch once in a while. I saw something on their schedule, but there are no full-time meals. There's an exercise room, a library, and a game room. There are four floors and every floor has something on it."

"The Gardens at Jackson Creek was very nice and very clean. I was just amazed that the apartment was so open and there was a lot of room in it. The gentleman that showed me around knew what he was doing and was very kind. They had a pool, a hot tub, a salon, and a real open area for getting together with the other residents. It's a really nice place."
