The rooms here are very accommodating and the nurses here are friendly, which go along way! As far as the food, I will say that there is a wide variety of options!

Mom is in rehab at Delmar Gardens of Lenexa right now. In most aspects, they are good. The one issue I've had is that they do not offer a choice for meals, and she has been a picky eater and has been refusing most meals. I have to advocate for her to get other food. There have been some communication issues where I'm not as informed, and they're not reaching out to me as much as the other facilities. I'm having to ask the questions rather than them just telling me what's going on. The staff has been very compassionate towards my mom. She seems to trust them more than the other facilities she's been at. The food itself looks good, and they offer alternatives. It's just that there hasn't been an easy way to order the alternatives thus far. She has not used any of the common areas. She just likes to stay in her room. She doesn't want to engage. Her room is spacious. It's not renovated, and the carpet is kind of old, but there's plenty of room to maneuver, and if we wanted to bring in some furniture, there's room for it. I've seen their calendar and I've walked past them playing bingo. They've got Bible studies. I believe there are art classes. Right now, she is covered by Medicare, so I haven't had to pay.

I absolutely love Delmar Gardens of Lenexa. The staff are so friendly and genuinely care about my mom. She is thriving since her move to Delmar. She is well cared for and staff go above and beyond to make her happy. A huge weight has been lifted as I know my mom is happy. If I ever need assistance, Administration is happy to assist and always greets me with a warm smile.
