My mother was a resident of Morningside Place for 4 ½ years. When I would visit, she would always be clean, comfortably dressed, happy and active, either walking the halls with a friend, enjoying the sun in the courtyard, playing a game or attending one of many planned events. The leadership is committed to engaging the families in facility events and activities and providing information on dementia-related educational opportunities. All of this helps us to better understand what is happening with our family member as dementia overtakes them and how best to engage with them in order to make our final years together as happy and loving as possible. The leadership also holds monthly zoom meetings with directors and family members to help keep families up-to-date on changes in personnel and on upcoming events and allow us time to ask questions and get to know the people who are caring for our loved ones. Morningside personnel deserve an A++ from our family for providing Mom with a wonderful, happy place to live out her last years.

I did a tour of Morningside Place. The residents seemed happy, and the staff seemed sincere in wanting to make the residents happy. Inside, it looked clean, and that it was cleaned and fairly up to date from the outside. There wasn't much of a view outside. So, it seems like an older building, and the lobby was small compared to the newer facilities. They have crafts and exercise. They do two to three outings a week; they said they did Spiritual Things. They have two TV rooms.

My husband is at Morningside Place. Generally, it's a fine place. The problems have been caused by the quarantining and the pandemic. It throws everybody into a state of behavior that you have to figure out as you go along. I think they've done a pretty good job of it. As far as I can tell, his care is satisfactory, but it's hard to communicate with the staff. They're very, very careful about the virus. They're good people, they try hard, and they do a fine job.

We visited several facilities in the area and Morningside Place was the one. The staff is friendly and although they have a difficult job they do it well. Taking care of residents with dementia cannot be easy yet my father thinks of them as friends. Morningside Place was the only facility that we visited that took the residents on outings and had a full day of activities. My biggest fear when I had to place my father in a memory care facility was that he would hate it but he says that it's a good place with everything that he could need.

Morningside Place was clean and neat. The inside of the place looked nice. The dining area looked nice. However, it didn't have that warm and homey-feeling that I wanted for my dad. The receptionist was visiting with someone behind the desk, and I stood and waited for him to realize that I was there. The staff was very nice. However, I didn't feel like they were offering my dad the warmth and love that I want him to have until he passes. I felt like they were just selling me part of their business. I was also not overly fond of their staff-to-patient ratio. Each of them had five or six people, but what happens to other five when they're in the room taking care of person number six?

Dave is receiving quality care. They have a lot of patience and understanding of Alzheimer's patients.

My mother has been a resident here for two years. As her dementia has progressed and her physical abilities have declined, her plans of care have also changed and her needs are well met. The staff is genuinely kind and patient with her. She tells me that she feels safe here and doesn't want to live any place else. That says it all and means the world to me.

When you walk into Morningside Place it feels like home. The staff is attentive to needs and individualizes plans for each resident. I would recommend this place for anyone looking for a lovely memory care community.

If you care for your loved ones do not send them to Morningside Place. My mom was moved in to this place last month and we were suppose to have extra keys given to us for her room. We are still waiting, and every time we ask about them no one knows a thing. She shares a room with another lady and has had some problems with her. They are suppose to switch her room so that the problem will be solved, but today my sister noticed that the room that my mom was suppose to get, has someone elses name on it. This place seemed so nice, and Kelley who came out and talked to us prior to my mom's move-n date was great. Now she keeps having excuses why things are not going according to plan. My mom needs the care at this facility, but the way they run things makes me worry about my mom.

Morningside was more like a nursing home than a community or assisted living place. The staff was very nice and welcoming. The rooms were a little small. They had three meals a day, and the dining area was basic, but it was under renovation.

Cypress Springs was a very nice facility. The lady who I spoke and took me on a tour was very nice. It was too expensive to live there, though. The people were very nice, too. The rooms were of a good size and included one- and two-person rooms.

I had an amazing visit at Cypress Springs. They were very friendly, very clean, and very well educated. The residents were playing bingo when I got there and winning prizes. It was very interesting to see how they handled that, and it went very well. The rooms were nice, clean, and were what I expected to see for the prices that they had. The dining area was like any other common area. What stood out was mostly the staff.

We chose Cypress Springs Overland Park because they kept calling me and none of the others followed up as well as they did, so we did not visit any others. My husband just moved in, and my initial impression was that they have a lot of activities for their residents, but now I see that they don't really have as much as I had hoped for. I am not complaining, but it isn't what I expected. They have nice people and nice attendants, but he hasn't really integrated well yet. His room is small, and we have not moved his furniture in because I have a month to decide whether he will stay there or move him back to the other place. The only reason I am not giving them a perfect rating is because they lack activities.

The care at Cypress Springs went fine; the staff was good. It was always clean with a nice yard. I think it’s a good place from what I’ve seen. It’s a small place; it’s only one floor. They have pretty good activities; my husband went on one field trip. I would recommend it, but people have to look or visit because it’s not a big building.

My mom is happy when we visit. She was also an exit seeker at other facility and they have been able to keep that under control.

We brought our mother from another retirement home four months ago because their treatment of her dementia of stage 3 , unable to give her proper care, She appeared over medication and near death. Even though Hospice as been provided, she seems to have revived from their care. They have a Great attitude, willingness to work with all family needs-such as not over medicating, and respecting the lives of our loved ones.I plan to write more reviews as life progresses with our mother.

I took my husband to live here with severe dementia. They could not handle him and I had me stay with him the first night and had me come stay with him 5 days in a row. He attacked the administrator and she called the police. REALLY! Sent him by ambulance to hospital. They have a beautiful facility but are not trained or experienced enough to handle dementia or Alzheimer's. I have since moved him to a different care facility. It's not as fancy but care is superior. Also Cypress charged me the full month even tho he was only there less than 1week. And threatened me they could charge me for the next month. Unprofessional, poorly trained, inept staff and management.

Cypress Springs is a new facility. It is also very nice and of good size. At that time of my visit there, they only had like 18 people living there because they had just finished building not too long before that. Their staff members were very friendly. They offered right away to do an assessment that day when we visited and they were very nice. They just didn't have a staff at that point in time for the care that my sister-in-law needed.
