My father has been at Westchester Village of Lenexa's assisted living since February and he's happy there. The place is very clean and up-to-date. There's an exercise room and a hairdresser. They also have bus trips and regular outings to grocery stores, Wal-Mart, and things like that. They provide transport to the doctor's office and doctor's appointments. They also have a preacher who comes in once a week and they do Bible study. The staff seems very attentive and professional. They're very communicative. The rooms are spacious, handicapped-accessible, and in good repair. I have not tried their food but he eats 3 times a day and he is happy with it. Their dining area is restaurant-style and it seems to be nicely done. They're on the high end, but I think I'm getting good value for my money.

I toured Westchester Village of Lenexa. I didn't like the buildings as well as the apartments. I didn't like the layout. Everything was very far away. And the connection of the buildings, even though they were all connected, it was kind of confusing. The staff was very nice. The director was very informative and very nice, too. They did have a very small garden, but none of the apartments had either a porch or something that you could go out to.

We just moved my mom into Westchester Village. Judy the Director has gone over and above all and any expectations with respect to her assistance in everything to make this transition happen for our mom. The rooms are very nice and clean. The closets are very large. The staff genuinely seem very caring, kind and professional. We are so pleased with the decision to move mom her. Thank to all the staff at Westchester!

We are so impressed with Westchester Village. Mom's apartment was updated before she moved in and is in excellent condition. The one bedroom apartment is spacious and comfortable. Plenty of storage and the walk in closet is huge. The underground parking option is very nice. Staff has been very professional, kind and helpful. In addition, staff has gone the extra mile to make mom feel welcome and help her with the transition to assisted living. Really can't say enough good things about Westchester Village.

My grandmother lived there for over 4 years and leading up to the covid 19 pendemic it was a wonderful place to live... but in November —- 9 months into the pandemic- they started floating staff between ill and well patients subsequently sending covid 19 raging through the facility. Staff was not wearing appropriate PPE. I stood outside her window and watched staff come in wearing only an ordinary mask and no gown or face shield. That staff member tested positive for covid later that day and my grandmother tested positive later that week. Then as she suffered to breath infected with covid they did not move her to an ill side of the center but left her in her room feet away from her roommate who was well at the time. She subsequently went on to die and at the end of the day had they followed the standard of care likely many of those residents would have lived the few more weeks they needed to to get vaccinated. When pressed on why they floated staff between ill and well residents they noted being short staffed. I have spoken to other nursing homes to Be sure that I understood the standard of care and it is that staff should not float between ill and well in this situation. And the bare minimum is that staff should have appropriate PPE so you do not cross contaminate. I have grace for the complexity of the situation but 9 months into the pandemic they should have known better and done better. What does it matter if your facility is beautiful but you can’t protect these vulnerable people? Think twice before letting your loved one live in a facility that does not follow the standard off care.

My parents moved into the Assisted Living section of WVL in January 2018. This was our first (and will be only) experience with senior living facilities and wow, did we hit the jackpot! The facility is sparkling clean and the staff genuinely cares about their residents. The apartments have nice touches such as a breakfast bar in the kitchenette and a true central AC/Heat system. But above all, the staff makes this a very warm and caring environment.

One of the many things that I love about Westchester Village is the fact that they have all levels of care from Skilled Nursing to Assisted Living to Independent Living. It is important to me that I know that if my mom (who is currently living in Independent Living) needs additional help down the road, we can move her to the skilled nursing wing for rehab/extra care or to the Assisted Living wing without totally uprooting her. Westchester Village has totally impressed our family in all areas. Nursing care has been excellent; with every interaction, we have been impressed with their professionalism and responsiveness. The Therapy Department is on site which makes it easy for my mom to get the rehab that she needs without leaving the building. The food and cleanliness of the building are outstanding and the Administration staff are supportive and quick to respond to any concerns or questions. My mom also loves the fact that they have a Primary Care Physician that will see her right in her own apartment without having to travel to his office. We took the time to look at several facilities before choosing Westchester Village and we have no regrets. My mom loves it! She has made a lot of new friends, she loves the staff and most importantly she feels safe. We have seen her actually grow stronger from being more active with all of the fun events that she attends on a daily basis. Every time I visit my mom and I see her interact with the staff, it warms my heart because I can see that she loves the staff and they love her right back! I highly recommend Westchester Village!

I visited Covenant Place of Lenexa, and it’s a nice place in terms of parking as they have underground parking for the residents. The lady took the time to tell me all about the facility. We also did walk around the place, and I liked it very much. This also would have been a very ideal place for my mother. They have a little bit more continuing type of care in place. Their dining room was nice, but I wasn’t able to eat there. They have a pool. This felt like a little more nursing-home like to me, but it wasn’t a nursing home.

My loved one was at the facility for skilled nursing and rehab for about one month in early 2015. The facility is very new and clean and the food was really good. The staff was good, but not great; it depended on who was on duty. Some of them were really good. But, the RN's and nurses aids that were not doing a good job never seemed to get coached and we saw them over and over. Response time for patients from the nurses aides varied greatly. Sometimes they would be really fast and other times it would take as long as 45 minutes to come take my loved one to the bathroom. Also, anyone looking at this facility needs to be aware they do not have bedrails or bed alarms. If you demand, they will add a very small bedrail that is practically useless. They claimed with us that rails and alarms are illegal; which I do not believe is true. Overall the experience was ok, but I expected more given how nice the building is.

My mother has been in Covenant Place of Lenexa for a couple of weeks now since she got out of the hospital, and everything seems to be going well. There are a few staff that aren't really attentive, and she didn't get the best care from them, but the majority of the staff is very good, and they make sure that she has the two-person transfer that she needs. The administration is very helpful in arranging transportation when she has to go to the doctor, answering any questions I have, and staying in touch with any information I need. It's fairly new -- only 2 years old -- so everything is very up-to-date. It's kept very clean, and the food seems to be good.

I love their rooms, their amenities -- and the food is good. The personnel is wonderful. There is a lot of entertainment, bingo, exercise, devotion, church, and a variety of things. I'm just comfortable here, and everything is fine. I didn't like any of the others as I did Westchester Village of Lenexa (formerly Covenant Place).
