I have already moved into Kingswood. The facilities are old, but they've been well kept. The food is very good. It's just not what they provide, you have many choices, and that's good. There are lots of physical activity. The people seem to be very friendly. Because of the friendliness of the residents, I would give it a 5. I haven't participated much in activities because there are so many problems, but I think they'll be just fine. I have been staying here for about a month now.

Residents requiring assistance with personal hygiene aren’t a good fit for Kingswood Care Center. If your significant other, friend or relative isn’t able to fully care for their own personal hygiene and toilet needs independently, it would be in your best interest to seek another facility rather than Kingswood. The staff is pleasant as long as they’re able to socialize with their colleagues. My friend, significant other and/or relative developed bed wounds due to lack of proper hygiene. They chose death over life from being repeatedly reprimanded for having to release themselves or asking for assistance. The person mentioned unfortunately chose starvation rather than admonishing by the majority of the staff for having a regular human need. This form of negligence shouldn’t exist In America in the 21st Century. Do better with the next person, please.

Clarendale of St. Peters was a beautiful place, but they were just out of our price range. It was well-kept, well maintained, and had friendly staff. It was nice. It's really a great facility to go to.

My mother moved into Kingswood. She originally chose that about six years ago because they had independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing all in the same building. When she got to the point where she needed a nursing home, she didn't want to have to move to another place. It's very, very nice. The staff is great. I knew them from before when she was there. She was in independent living, and then she went to the hospital and COVID hit. We didn't take her back for a while, but now she's back. We already knew a lot of the people, and they're very nice. I eat with her there all the time. It's good. She's in a suite. You walk in, and there's a shared kitchen and a shared living room. They each have their own private bedrooms and bathrooms. It's a lot less expensive than having just your own room, but you still have to have your privacy.

I give it 1 star based on the Administrative offices only. Communication is poor, over billing problems every month. Snooty better than anybody admin staff. It's no wonder they filled bankruptcy. They say it's competition and covid related but, ... I will say the little people make this place great. The nurses, security, restaurant staff, cooks waiters/waitresses. If it wasn't for them this place would be terrible.

Kingswood was great. It was just too large for my mother; in fact, we got lost in the dining hall. But the facility had everything. The staff was great and they did follow protocols. It was nice, clean, and didn't smell, but you must have some money to get in there. The residents can order from the menu in the bistro or they can have a buffet. I think they have a $900 monthly food allotment. They have a swimming pool, a workout area, a chapel, a room where you can bring your family in to sit and talk, and a small library. They were doing sit-down and pool aerobics when I went there. My mother will not be able to get around well because there are just so many different wings. They also have independent living somewhere on the outside part of it, so she would get lost. Randy did a fantastic job during the tour. He broke down the prices and everything that I would need to get in there. It's an older facility, but they did a good job of keeping it up. The apartments that he took me into were very nice. The assisted living residents always had a person with them, so the staff takes care of them.

My uncle was in Kingswood Independent Living, Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing over a period of 5 1/2 years. We finally moved him to a much nicer facility. The staff is one of biggest problem at Kingswood. Here is an example: While in Assisted Living, my uncle had gone several days without a bath, so he asked a staff member when he could get a bath. The staff member replied, "Old man, you will get it when I'm ready!" This was reported to upper management and nothing was done. My uncle had to endure this same man for months. Upon visiting my uncle on a Saturday, we walked by the assisted living desk on his floor and the aide was snoring very loudly! The skilled nursing was absolutely terrible. Again, we had to fight to get my Uncle a bath and his clothes changed. During one stay in skilled nursing, his feet were swelling up due to congestive heart failure and when we told the nurses, they did nothing. A few days later, he was rushed to the hospital for congestive heart failure. When we moved him to another facility, we realized how really awful Kingswood Senior Living really was. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

We kept my parents at Kingswood. We just moved them into long-term care. We think the staff members are very good. They have taken good care of them, so we just decided that they should stay there. It's good. The staff is excellent and the facility is excellent. They had a major renovation of it a couple of years ago, so the facility is in good shape. I've never heard my parents complain about the food, so I think it's fine. There are a number of activities that they can enroll in and that type of thing, but it depends upon their ability. My folks are limited because they have limited mobility at this point, but I think it's very good. I think they have a good variety of activities that people can do. We felt like the value of money was consistent with others that we saw. I think everything looked expensive nowadays for care and stuff, but compared to other facilities that we looked at, I think it was OK. The facilities are good. I'm kinda limited with their activities as far as what I know because of what my folks are able to do, but it looks like there's a good variety. It is expensive, but it's consistent with the others that we looked at. We were interested in mostly facilities that had independent living that as you need to move into assisted living, you can do that, and as you need to move into long-term care, you can do that. Kingswood has a variety of options. Actually, my parents were into assisted living initially, then they went into independent living, and then they went into skilled nursing, and they went into long-term care. My parents have been in four different categories.

I visited Kingswood, and that's where I moved my husband. It looked like a really nice place at the time. They took him, and I told them about his behavior, but they said it wasn't a problem. They just couldn't wait to get us in there, and they got him there in just nine hours but neglected to order his medicines. He was agitated, they wanted me to come in the middle of the night and sit with him, and they kicked him out and didn't even give him a chance to get used to the place. The place was lovely, but the staff was very poor, and they didn't know how to handle him. They didn't have enough staff members to watch him. The food looked really good, and it looked like they had a lot of activities.

Kingswood is very clean and inviting. They have independent living up to assisted living and total care. You don't have to move out of the community at all. However, the problem with this place is that we don't foresee ourselves needing something like this in the near future and they are extremely expensive. In the independent living section they have small villas you can live in. The problem with that is, they put the villas far from the main building where the dining room and all the activities are, so it looks like you either have to walk or drive to the building.

My father was there for a month, and I would never send anyone there again. They are drastically understaffed and cut staff while my father was a patient, making a bad situation worse. They are concentrating their resources on their new assisted living units. The nurses and CNAs felt overworked and took out their frustrations on the patients. They had terrible attitudes and resented the presence of family members. They hated helping patients use the bathroom and preferred to have them defecate and urinate in their clothing, to be cleaned up later at the aides’ convenience. The physical and occupational therapists were generally nice and helpful, but the scheduling of therapy sessions was random and illogical. The therapy room was too small and not well-equipped. Actual medical care was non-existent, and the lack of doctor visits was also commented on by other families. The hygiene was dreadful. There were usually no towels in the bathroom. The room was never cleaned while my father was there. A pill dropped on the floor was picked up and popped into his mouth by an aide. There was a good variety of food and it was well-prepared – the only good thing I can say about this place.

My experience with Kingswood was not as good as the other place we visited. The rentals were much higher, and the apartments were not as nice. The staff who showed me around was very pleasant. I would not recommend them. I didn't like the looks of the apartments, and the cost; but they had a pool there.

We found Kingswood. It’s a private facility with an indoor pool. Everything is great and clean. I don't have any complaints at all. I would recommend them. The staff is very friendly. I’m very pleased and content with this facility for my loved one.

We visited Kingswood, which was really nice, and the one that we were going to place my brother in. They had a nurse on the premises who answered all of our questions. We were there for an hour talking to her about different things. They had a van that would take him to his doctors’ appointments and residents out shopping. They had a menu in the beautiful dining area, with no set time for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

They obviously don't care about getting new patients. We have tried numerous times to speak with someone. The one time we did make an appointment, the woman failed to show up after I waited 35 minutes. They don't even have a receptionist. Its a wonder they have such high ratings.

The part I felt good about Kingswood was that they had a lot of people interested in musical things which my mother is. They had a Steinway piano. I felt like the people there were very kind, and they have a pool which my mother loves. The rooms were nice, and they had renovated many of them. It needed updating in the common areas, but it was not terrible; it was clean enough, but again, the outdoors was not what we are looking for. I felt like maybe they were short staffed just the way things went. The first time we went in, the sale person was not available, so this young man showed me around, and he was so wonderful. He showed me apartments and all. Then I wanted to take my sister to see, I talked with the sales person, and they said that they can't show us any apartment. We needed to qualify first financially, so my sister had taken a day off from work to go; we went back, made another appointment, and told them my mother's income, and she said they were ready to show us an apartment. We came back again with my mother, and that is when we found out that we don’t qualify.

We chose this community mainly for the location and the amenities that they could offer long-term. It is a spacious community. It is also runs like a home, not like a clinic. They also have activities here and the food is wonderful. I would recommend this place.

Kingswood Manor's location is good. It's clean. Although I can say that my mother's stay there has not been pleasant. The therapists have been really great but they just had lack of communication. We were not pleased. My aunt lives in their independent living facility. The place has just been one thing after the other with its independent living facility, assisted living, the extended care, and then the rehab facility and I don't know which particular one or it's all that way and we have to stay on top of it because there's just so many kinds of stuff that goes on there. It scares us to have to put my mom in an assisted living facility and have to go through the same stuff. They are short-handed. We kept a notebook and we have been charting everything as we don't always have access to nurse's notes or the doctor's charts.
