My mom moved into The Gardens at Barry Road a week and a half ago. It's a very nice place. It's very clean. The food is good. There's a little bit of an adjustment as to be expected. But overall, it's a very nice place. The staff is very friendly. My mom is in a three-bedroom apartment. So she has two roommates with a shared bathroom and kitchenette area. They do have nice activities. They do bingo. They do art, painting. They have music. They have people come in, trying to do trivia. They have lots of puzzles. And so they have different activities every day. I haven't seen a library, but they do have a nice courtyard. They do have a movie room or an activities room. They do movies frequently with popcorn.

We toured The Gardens at Barry Road. The place is clean. They have a lot of activities, I think my wife would enjoy the puzzles, and they have a movie night. The staff seemed to be okay, I talked to a couple of people who had family members there, and they were pretty happy.

The Gardens at Barry Road was very nice and I liked how airy it was. It was quite clean and it smelled good. It looked like it was run very well. The apartment looked nice and clean. It had a mini fridge and a little sink. It had a large closet and it was quite a nice space for one person. The staff who toured me around was very good. She's young and intelligent. I think she's an LPN and she enjoys her job, and she comes off very caring and sincere. We walked through the courtyard from one part of the building to the next just because it was quicker to cut back to where we wanted to be, and they were nice and clean.

My mom has moved into The Gardens at Barry Road. They are so friendly. They're wonderful. You would think they're family. The atmosphere is wonderful, and there is a camera in her room. They have several activities. They have a calendar, and it has different things for every day. The food looks good and smells good. They have a beauty salon, they have exercise, and I've seen people in PT. My mom has been into others, and I'm pleased with them. so far. Even when we were moving her things in, it was like everybody wanted to help. From what I've seen, their activities are very nice, but my mom can't participate.

My wife's second cousin has moved into The Gardens at Barry Road. He seems to be very happy there. The physical appearance and ambiance are both very good. Lisa is the staff that meets you, greets you, takes you around, and shows you the place, and she's very, very caring and very patient with my relative. Everything seems to be very good in his room. It has an outer door that opens onto a courtyard. That's something he's looking forward to in the summertime when the weather gets warmer. It's very nice. Big bathroom. Big closet. They have a calendar of activities, and something is going on every day. They have a small chapel there for services. My relative likes the food, and the food is very good. In terms of value for the money, it's good as any out there. We have looked at a lot of places before we chose this one, and they were all about the same price.

My mom will be moving into The Gardens at Barry Road today. It is a great place. The apartments are very nice, very spacious, and they have everything we need. The common areas look very nice. They have a salon, a library, and laundry facilities. They have activities, like exercises. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The place is extremely clean. I noticed when we walked into the room, they had done a deep clean in our room. It smelled wonderful.

My mom will be moving in a couple of weeks to The Gardens at Barry Road. We chose it because it's convenient, and the residents were all very happy. They had a very easy layout, and it was very clean. The staff was excellent. Mom will be in a studio room. The meals were included. The activities, health check-ups, and transportation were also included. I tried the food and it was very good. Some things just need some painting.

We chose The Gardens at Barry Road for Mom because they had Medicaid rooms and because of the price. It was clean and well kept up, and it was a nice looking facility. She will be in assisted living. The floor plan was nice. The hallways were really nice and a little bit bigger than normal. It looked like she would love the amenities there. The staff was very pleasant and the activities director was really positive, and energetic, and you kind of need someone like that in that position. The individual that showed us around was really pleasant and very cooperative, and showed us what we needed to see. Their Medicaid rooms were nicer than the other facilities. The price was very good considering what they had.

I went to The Gardens at Barry Road. It was clean and it did not smell. The room was clean and organized. I observed activities. The residents were sitting and eating, they were sitting and watching TV, and they were getting their meds. The staff who helped us were nice and professional. They answered our questions.

We left The Gardens at Barry Road because of poor food and poor care. My mom was in memory care and she wouldn't eat and was starving to death. Then she got in poor health, because they wouldn't take care of her. She was left soiled and she wasn't taken care of. We left there in a very big hurry because it got bad real quick. That was two and a half years ago. The facility itself was fairly clean and kept up, but it was also outdated.

My wife was at The Gardens at Barry Road for respite care. It was a very nice facility. The staff was very competent and very caring. I was very pleased with what they did. She was in a studio and it was very nice. She had everything she needed. According to her, the dining room was nice. They had all kinds of activities, too.

The Gardens at Barry Road is a little older but it's immaculate. I haven't eaten there for quite a while, but I used to go to their beauty shop and spend time with the residents. My last visit to their assisted living was a year ago. They have a beauty shop and everything that anyone would want. The rooms are lovely. I think it's been a while since I've known anyone to be there, but the services were really good. The only thing is that there are not a lot of parking spots. It's a beautiful location though. For activities, they have bingo, movies, and game nights. They have excellent transportation so that the residents can go to different places throughout the city. They can go to plays and things like that if they want to. I don't know about their memory care or anything like that, but I know it's a lovely place, and the people there like it. I wouldn't hesitate to live there myself. They have a wonderful chef and they always have things that the residents can come down and get like a muffin or a fruit. They have tea time and lots of fun things going on too. During my last visit to my friend's mother a year ago, I was not able to have a meal but she thought the food was wonderful. She was always delighted with it. Her room was very nice, roomy, and homey. On each floor, there's a wonderful area that's kind of their common area. It's huge and people have parties there and stuff. I've been to parties there myself and it was nice. The doors were always open to their offices and I liked that. Everyone was also on a first-name basis with the people and the staff that worked there knew everybody. The lady that ran the beauty shop was just awesome because sometimes people would come down and would forget their money and she would say, "No problem". It was just a nice place. My friend's mom was in assisted living so they monitored her meds and her diet. Other than that, she was pretty much on her own and did things by herself.

We did a tour of The Gardens at Barry Road. It's a little bit further away from where our home is. Also, I would say it's an older building. All the private rooms had had a kitchen in it, and I don't know it just was older, and kind of dark and dreary. The rooms looked a little dark. She just took us in one that, I guess they just show people. It looked like it was just kind of closed and had a kitchen. It just didn't look comfortable. The maintenance and upkeep look good. The staff was outgoing. We went through memory care. People were getting ready for supper, and stuff like that. Everybody was very cordial. The dining area was nice, but we didn't eat or anything like that. They all were sitting there waiting for their meal, so they were anxiously watching TV, waiting for their meal.

I did a tour of The Gardens at Barry Road. The facility and the staff were nice. My big concern is that they don't have long term care there, and they don't accept Medicaid. Everything there is private pay. I saw the rooms, the dining area, and the craft rooms. I got a pretty thorough tour. They were OK. It was a little bit on the small side, but they are alright. All looked very clean, and the staff was very friendly. It was nice. People seemed happy and were busy doing things. It wasn't as fancy as some. I don't require fancy. I saw some facilities that were nicer, but a lot more costly. They have programs, and they have libraries. Some were playing bingo. They have lots of places where they can just sit and visit; it was typical.

I went to The Gardens at Barry Road. It was a very nice facility, they did not have very many rooms available, so I would say it's a popular place. They had a very nice courtyard out back with a gazebo, so if you wanted to get outside, there's a nice place to go outside. They had a kitchen snack area that you could go into that was beside the dining hall. They just had everything, they had a salon, and they had an exercise room, and had all those things, but they were probably just not as nice or as new as other places. The staff member was very good. We connected with her very well about our story and her story. They had a smaller selection of food. It appeared to be good, but it did not have as many options as other places do.

The Gardens at Barry Road was very nice, and the director there was very helpful and pleasant. I felt like she gave me plenty of time to visit with me and answered all my questions, gave me a tour, and showed me some sample apartments. So I had a very positive feeling about it. I didn't see many staff members, but those I saw seemed to be pleasant including the residents there, as I was passing by. The facility was very clean, very bright, and very welcoming.

The Gardens at Barry Road was really nice. I like the setting of it and the location. It was a good visit. I didn't stay too long because I was just trying to check on some things for my friend. They were friendly and knowledgeable of what they were doing. The place was really clean, and I liked the tour. I like the entry coming in and the whole layout. I like the way it was set up because it was pleasant to look out. They had a van and a gym, but I don't know about the salon.

My father actually chose to move into The Gardens at Barry Road, because they have a veteran men's group that meets on a daily basis. He's able to take his dog in and out of there. I like it because it is ten minutes from my house and has a continuum of care. It's a studio apartment, it has a bathroom, a big closet, and a small kitchenette. The food is served in a bistro area, it's open for set hours every day, and you can go in and order food at any time. They have a menu that you can choose from, or two specials for lunch, and two specials for dinner that you can always choose. They have nights out at the museum, they have movies in the facility, and they go out to dinner. They have the option of going out to dinner once or twice a week. They have nail people that come in to do nails, and they have the veterans' men's group that gets together. They have cooking classes, and there are five to six activities every day that everyone can choose from. The residents also get together and play cards in certain areas, so there's quite a bit going on, and they're just starting back up right now.

We visited The Gardens at Barry Road. The maintenance seemed to be very nice, and it seemed very clean. They were in the process of cleaning up a room and making repairs. The staff seemed very knowledgeable. The main manager wasn't there that day, but she reached out to us and I talked to her a little bit. We saw the memory facility and the assisted living area. The room seemed very nice.

I moved from a different community into The Gardens at Barry Road. So far, it's very good, and the staff is very accommodating. The food is very good, and I'm very pleased. I think the room is going to work out for me. I'm still trying to fit everything, and I think everything that I need is here. The staff is eager to take care of me, and they're very accommodating. I wouldn't wanna go back to where I was.

My mom is in The Gardens at Barry Road. It looked like the best one and it was nice looking. So far, I am very impressed with the staff. They have both fulltime nursing, three shifts, and they have an RN on duty at all times. They have an in-house doctor, and they have transportation to doctors. She gets assistance in whatever she needs. The room is beautiful. They offer an exercise class every single morning, they do chair exercises, they have parties, games, a rose garden, and lawn. They also accept Medicaid. The food looks pretty good and they offer choices for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Mom has a kitchenette where she can have apple juice, crackers, and things like that, and family supply. She has a teapot and she makes her own coffee. She shares the room with another woman. My mother is legally blind, and she has diabetes, but they're keeping up with her pretty well; she is a high maintenance person. She is not senile so that is good. You have to be able to walk there. No wheelchairs are allowed, you have to have be able to use a walker. If you go and use the wheelchair, you are out. She has a pendant on her neck, and they come in and they are right there every time she wants something. They offer several choices for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They have a restaurant and a beauty shop. It is a very nice place, and it is extremely clean and not rundown at all.

The Gardens at Barry Road, Kansas City was really nice, the people were all really helpful, and the place looks nice. Moving my mother in did not exactly go as I would like. We can only do one trip, and I forgot the HDMI cable to her TV; she's not going to know how to hook it up, and no one else is going to hook it up for her. She's gonna have to go without a TV so I was really dissatisfied that I can only enter the building at one time. Then when I brought my mom to move her there, they won't even let me take her to her room because they don't allow visitors. I'm not even visiting; I'm bringing my mom here to live but I still wasn't allowed in. I get the whole COVID thing but it doesn't make sense that I can take her stuff to her room, but I can't take her to her room so she was crying. I'm taking her to live there for the first time. She has memory issues, and needs to be comforted that it's gonna be okay. She's in a shared room; she has a companion. It's not an older building; it was built about 10 years ago. It's nice, and they have a nice courtyard. The experience was heart-breaking; it was already a hard move to begin with. Also, their policy changed overnight; it was really weird that they told me she had to quarantine for 7-14 days at home, and she can't be at home that's why we're moving her there. I ended up having to pay a sitter which cost me $5,000 just for a week while she's on quarantine. She came from the hospital because of her issue, and they refused to take her outright unless she's quarantined. Then they called me right after we've hired the sitter that the policy has changed, but by then we've already wasted time.

The Gardens at Barry Road was very nice and very professionally run. It's a fresh and clean community and the presentation was well-presented. Some of their amenities are a salon for hairdressing, and there's an activities center.

My dad lived in the Gardens at Barry Road until he broke his hip. The facility is nice, the communication there was atrocious, and they weren't very consistent. I would speak highly of the nursing director, but the staff at night would tell me things that wouldn't be true. The room was very nice, but my dad said the food was OK. He didn't think it was great, but he didn't think it was terrible. It was not homemade; it was just reheated. However, it had beautiful surroundings, and it was very clean and well-maintained.

My friend is at The Gardens at Barry Road. Their service has been really excellent. They helped us immensely in getting through all the paperwork and getting things taken care of so we could move her in quickly. The staff has been really good. She's quite happy there, and she has settled into that pretty easily. Everything's going really good in there. We take care of the laundry ourselves, but they provide everything else. The place is immaculately clean. They have arts and crafts, TV time, and there are a lot of things to keep them preoccupied. They're working therapy in with things that they like to do. Their program is pretty excellent.

The Gardens at Barry Road was overwhelmingly beautiful. The employees were very nice, but the residents weren't very friendly. It wasn't an overwhelmingly welcoming place (except for the people that work there). The rooms were beautiful. I just didn't get a good vibe from it. They had other rooms for games and entertainment. I wanted my mother to go somewhere where she could socialize, and I didn't get that feeling there.

My husband and I are living at The Gardens at Barry Road (The Gardens Assisted Living and Memory Care, Barry Road). There's three meals a day. We don't have to pay utilities, groceries, and transportation. The staff is extremely friendly and caring. The facility is beautiful without being overdone. We go to exercises and church, and we had a party or two as well. We have a one-bedroom that's very pleasant and has a living room and a very large closet which is marvelous. It couldn't be better. We have a large courtyard with an extra entry out into the courtyard, and a very small patio or porch. I really like it.

The Gardens of Barry Road was very welcoming and organized. I can get the support that my dad needs from them. The rooms were excellent and all on one floor. My dad's room will be close to the elevator and dining room. The dining area is high quality and had a lot of choices for the residents. It's very clean and nice. They had a calendar of activities, a variety of trips, church, bingo, and a van so he can go out and do what he wants to do. They also had a dining area and kitchen that you can use for your family, plus a library, chapel, physical therapy, and live music.

The Gardens of Barry Road was clean, nice, and very warm. The people were super nice. I would definitely put my mom in there. They would give me a key to the building as well as to the room of my mom so I could go in any time. It had some really nice features.

I went to The Gardens of Barry Road. It was a 5, but I didn’t like their point system. My mother would have to have someone give her her pills every day, so every time they would do something, it would take away points, and then you get charge extra for it. The place was very nice. They had all of them in a locked area, and it was very nice. They all had really nice rooms. Some were semi-private rooms and some were private rooms. It was a very nice community. It was a 5 as long as you don’t have to worry about somebody doing things for you. It’s a really nice place.

There was nothing I didn't like about The Gardens of Barry Road. I love that place. The staff was impeccable. The opportunities that they had for their residents as far as activities, amenities, services, and groups were just hands down top notch. The medical personnel and the nurse there during the day were really nice to work with and very helpful. The facility itself was like a vacation cruise ship in the way they decorated it. The grounds were nice. The one day we drove up, there was a deer in the yard, which was nice to watch. They offered specials that we had hoped to take advantage of. The staff had done a nice job.

The Gardens at Barry Road was not as luxurious as the other two I visited, but it was nice. It had more residents than I would've preferred. It had hallways, and it was more institutional. I did eat there, and it was good. The dining room was a cafeteria type of dining arrangement. The apartments were nice and spacious, and the staff was very accommodating and appeared to be very competent.

The Gardens was right across our subdivision. I liked their eating facility or station. It was very comfortable and did not feel like it was an assisted living quarters. The rooms were small, but they were all right. They were suitable and big enough to bring in some personal items. I thought the food was good. I knew they had some arts & crafts. We liked that it was near to us, and they had a unit for Alzheimer's. My mother-in-law had dementia, and that was one thing that attracted us to that. I thought it was very well secured.

We really liked The Gardens at Barry Road, but they had a very long waiting list. They were nice and friendly, and it looked like they really took care of things. It was clean. They had a lot going for the people, and they seemed to be happy there. They will take Medicaid as their price because it's a nonprofit. If we had known about it a year ago, we could have gotten my mother in it.

The Gardens are nice; they had a nice garden area that you can wheel the patient out into, and they had flowers out there. The rooms were big, but I wasn’t happy about the staff there. It was not a good location for me, so I was not able to spend much time there. The sanitation was fine, and it didn’t smell. They didn’t notify me that mom-in-law was being released. The rest of the staff seemed to be quite understanding. The beauty shop was really nice though.
