My mother-in-law moved to Brookdale Tallgrass. We know more now that she's been there, and it's all good. I think the smallness of it attracted us. She happened to get just a really nice room view, which is the courtyard area. We are super impressed with the activity director. They seemed to keep them involved. The facility is clean. The staff seemed caring. They are amazing. The nice thing, I think, and maybe they do this everywhere, is they announce every morning. Like if it's breakfast time, they would say "Come on down." At noon, the same thing. It comes over an intercom in each room. So it kind of reminds the people to go do it and they keep them involved with the activities. She's only been there a couple of weeks, and I know she's gone on three or four different activities. It's more than we want to spend anywhere, but based on what we've researched and stuff, I think the value is well worth it. One afternoon we were there and they fed us and the food was amazing.

Brookdale Tallgrass was nice. It was all on one floor, which was good. The only reason why I didn't consider it was primarily because of the bedroom area. I didn't want to downsize to the point where I had to move into an apartment, but everything else was great. The dining area was a very friendly place. The staff was also friendly and they answered all my questions. They're very good.

The grounds at Brookdale Tallgrass were fine. I didn't get to see inside the room, but the common areas were very nice and very well kept up. The person that gave me the tour was not very, very helpful. It wasn't a regular tour guide type of person. It was someone who was there to just kind of keep an eye on things. So it was kind of a common person's view if you will. I can't recall any activities. It just seemed like everybody was having a nice, quiet afternoon. I made appointments and there was nobody from their main office to show me around. They ended up having someone who was there kind of on-site staff person. So, it was very ad hoc. The appointment didn't happen as it was supposed to, but she tried, toured me around, and was able to help and answer some questions. It was not the visit that I needed to have to really figure out anything about that facility.

I thought Brookdale Tallgrass was a very nice facility. The room was very nice. It has carpet, and that's one thing I like, too. They had a very nice dining area, and I really do like how they have all the patients together like one big table.

Brookdale Tallgrass was very nice and very good. The lady that showed us was very sweet, helpful, and caring. You could tell she had an interest in finding the best place for my brother. The main reason I was so interested in it was because it's about a block from where I live and I can just walk down there. It's a very nice facility, it's small, and all the help in there seemed very good, helpful, and friendly. Everything looked clean and nice. They showed me a big room, which is kind of like a studio, but it was a very nice room.

We went to Brookdale yesterday for their St. Pat’s party and had a good time. Virginia, the hostess that met us, was very nice, very friendly, and very cordial. We could not ask for a better person. The facility was very nice. The only thing I did not like was that they had a full kitchen in their independent living, but since you'd be provided your three meals, it would be better to have a smaller kitchen. Other than that, everything went very well. We had a good time, enjoyed the facility, and are thinking about it. I would like to go there someday, if I could. I would recommend it to others because it was very nice.

We did a quick tour at Brookdale Tallgrass. They had an apartment that was being prepared for a new tenant, and they showed us around the facility. The rooms seemed small but nice. The person that showed us around was fine. She was not the person who does that, but she took the time to do it. I saw the dining area. I thought everything was fine. I did not see any issues. It did not have a bad smell. The staff seemed to be doing a good job. They had activities posted on the bulletin board. I would recommend it to others.

We really didn’t get to do very much at Brookdale Tallgras. We just ate there and walked around. We didn't like this facility. To us, the rooms were too small. Another thing about it was the majority of the people were memory care people like Alzheimer's patients, and my parents didn't have memory problems to be mixed in with that big of a population of memory care people. The food was OK. This was the least favorite of the three we looked at. They didn't have very many activities there at all. I am not saying that they have a bad facility; we just didn't like it as well as the others.

Sterling House was close to a lot of amenities. It was very clean and topnotch. It was also small. I liked the facility, but the staff was horrible. I scheduled an appointment to tour the place, but when I got there, they said I was not on the schedule, and they were running around trying to figure out what they needed to do.

My mother is in Sterling House. It is my choice because it is pet friendly and there seems to be a high staff to patient ratio. The staff is very polite, friendly and professional. However, we are having a little bit of problem dealing with mom having an incontinence problem and them not checking the bed being a little wet. We did tell them about that and they are on top of it. That is the only complaint I have. This place seems to be better than the place she was. This is a good facility.

Sterling House of Tallgrass seemed like a nice facility and the price was within my range. I had lunch there and although it was not spectacular, it was still good. I liked that it was close to me and it was within walking distance to almost any store.

Sterling House seemed to be nice. It was larger facility. The memory care unit, which was more confined was separated from the assisted living unit where people were free to come and go. They had good food. It wasn't much of a personal and homey atmosphere.

It was fine at Sterling House but it's out of my price range. I was accommodated by the staff; they were very helpful. The facility is well-maintained but it didn't feel homey.

When i first went in to the assistant living home called sterling house of tall grass i noticed how clean it was and not just the facility but also the nurses and other workers.Everyone was amazing help to my great aunt Regina and made her feel more at home then she could have felt in any other assistant living facility. She needs around the clock care and to be reminded of when she has to eat and take her medicine, which they did great at.She is still living at sterling house of Tallgrass and loves it out there and would not change where she lives for anyone. they have bingo nights for her and her friends , which she has made a lot of friends ever since she moved in there.every time i go see her she is happier then the last time that i saw her. They have a lot of activities for everyone there and an amazing staff as well as chefs . When i eat there with her i felt like i was in a five star restaurant. I would recommend this retire home for anyone that feels like they need a home life inside there assistant living conditions. They make sure you feel welcomed and that your care comes first. I think this is pretty much the best retirement center i have ever seen and i went through like twenty of them with my mother trying to find the perfect place for my great aunt. This is the prefect one!

This is a small assissted living facility in the northeast area of Wichita. It is a bit pricey, but if an intimate setting, good food and consistent staff are important, then it is worth the price. I would recommend this facility if a loved one has mild to mid dementia because it is does not have as much of institutional feeling as some. The staff knows everyone and can help to cue or supervise those with memory issues. They have nice opportunities for social activity such as movie and popcorn night, piano entertainment and sing alongs and small dining room setting. Security is good here, although sometimes it takes a while for staff to open the door for visitors. This is a standard facility. There have been some management changes so it is worth doing drop in visits.
