Nursing Home Communities in Montclair, CA

"My mother-in-law has been in Montclair Manor. The people who works there are very nice. The management was very informative and caring about her costs and things like that. We had a little bit of trouble getting it accurate in the end. There were more bills that came in that we didn't understand. They overcharged us but they reimbursed us and so we were happy. The rooms were adequate and mom was a fall-risk person so they put mats on the floor and they put the bed down and they had adequate stuff for her to prevent any type of fall. The food was good. It was good that they served her a lot of snacks. She did very well there. The facility was old but clean. They needed a lot of maintenance there like painting and some things that needed to be replaced. "

"My mother is now in Country Villa Claremont Health. The place is nice and the staff there is very good. She tells them if she needs to be fed and they feed her, if she needs to be changed then they change her, and while I'm here everything is fine. My mom wouldn't eat food for a long time, but in this place, they cook homemade food or meals from scratch and she likes it. She's really happy and healthy here. They have speech therapy, physical therapy, OT, they have events, candle-lit dinners, and a lot of good things for the residents. They also have carnivals for the children. It's a very large community, it's clean, and the grass is cut, so it's nice. They have a little patio that the people can use, and we can have parties here."

"We’ve often heard how good the care is at Claremont Manor but they were always full. This past summer, when our mother again needed assistance, Claremont Manor had an opening and we jumped at the opportunity. Everything we had heard about Claremont Manor was true. It’s a very safe and welcoming environment. The management, staff and care team are accommodating, attentive, friendly, and helpful. The communication was informative and very thorough. The physical therapy team was helpful and patient. We are so thankful to have chosen Claremont Manor."

"I only didn't give Pilgrim's Place a five because I have not been to that many assisted-living facilities and I don't know if it is truly the best of the best. What I can say from what I've heard about assisted-living places, is that it must come pretty close. I am a student in Claremont and I visited Pilgrim's Place in order to talk to some residents about their lives. I have hard many horror stories about assisted living facilities, but this one was nothing like that. It was clean and cheerful. The residents seemed happy and well taken care of. Like most of Claremont, the building itself was very nice and welcoming. The staff was very helpful and friendly as well. Although I have not had relatives stay here, I would recommend it without a doubt and can only hope that I end up in a place like this in my old age, if needed be. I couldn't find anything wrong with this place at all. "

"My husband was at Pilgrim Place Health Services Center. It had occupational therapy and physical therapy. They had activities there. It's really a good skilled nursing facility. They have a huge assisted living facility there for seniors. It took a while to get his medicine figured out. He has Parkinson's, so it's very specific, like he has to have his medicine six times a day, and the medicine people are just used to three times a day, so it kind of threw them off. Sometimes, he didn't get his medicine on time. That was probably the biggest complaint, but everything else was good. The food was good. He loved his physical therapy. He liked the activities. It's clean. It feels like a home, even though it's skilled nursing. It's nicely designed with artwork, and the staff is great. The nurses are great. It's a great place. They had art, movies, singing, and exercise. They had a lot of activities. They have a courtyard. When you first walk into Pilgrim Place, there's a huge patio to sit outside. They have a nice room for family, like a big dining room for people to come visit. They have another room for church. Medicare paid for it."

"My wife and I have been looking for the perfect retirement community for 1 1/2 yrs. In that time we have collected information on about 20 such places in the area of So. California we wanted as it is close to our son. With visits to about 12 CCRC's and two Adult Independent Living communities we rated them as best we could. None were perfect but several made the top 5 and one of those is Mt. San Antonio Gardens. In fact, it turned out that M.S.A.G became the standard of our judging all the others as far as services, facility, and meeting the needs of residents. It is, "a class act". If you want freedom from worrying about your care, forever, Mt. San Antonio Gardens is one to consider. "

"My mom is living in Heritage Park Nursing Center. The service has a couple of lapses but it's fine. The staff is friendly. Sometimes the food on the weekends is not as good as during the week. For activities, they bring animals over, so that’s good."

"The aspect that made Inland Christian Home stand out above other assisted living facilities that I have visited was the quality of the staff that worked with the clients. Like other places I have visited, this facility offers some of the standard activities and services for elderly residents. I saw people engaged in games, coming home from outings, and eating and chatting together. Another thing I liked about this facility is that it offers a number of different levels for residents, ranging from independent living to constant care. It is nice not to have to move to a different facility when one's level of care changes. But as I said before, the quality of the staff is what distinguishes this facility--staff members were patient and seemed to really know the personalities of the residents, down to the names of their grandchildren. The staff also seems to stick around, which makes for a more stable environment. "

"I was able to speak with a speech therapist who was working at this facility and told me that Plott facilities place a big emphasis on activities for rehab. I did see a lot of patients gathered in the activity room and dining room. The facility itself is an older building and could use a facelift; the vinyl floor tiles were cracked. While the rooms appeared clean, I was able to detect a slight odor. The patients looked clean and seemed content as they gathered around one of the TV rooms. I liked that the building has lots of commercial windows to let light in and a receptionist desk at the entrance. "

"We chose Park Avenue Healthcare & Wellness Center because this is the place that suited my father the most out of all of the facilities he's been in. He's been there a couple of months. They take care of him very well, the staff treats them very well. They feed him and he's doing good and not gaining any more weight. They have different activities like board games and different things they do for the seniors. It's also located near everything."

"My experience with this facility has been a God send. This is the 3rd facility my mom has been in. This is the ONLY one that she is not terrified of & she has made serious overall progress. I am actually hopeful she may finally be the the recovery road. They not only listen to me, they take consideration for what I say I hope my mom does not have to go thru this cycle again but if she does, I know she won't be terrified "

"My mother is in the rehab facility at Pomona Vista Care Center. It seems pretty good. We haven't noticed any neglect or anything. She's doing as well as can be expected there. They're pretty attentive, and they're very good at getting back to us when we have any questions. My dad goes every night at dinnertime, and he's enjoying the dinners too. He seems to like it, but my mom has dementia, so she doesn't even remember eating. They have a physical therapist and an occupational therapist who visits her every day, but I don't know about any other activities. It's very clean, it smells nice when you go in, and they're keeping my mother clean. She doesn't ever look neglected or anything. It's pretty close to a hospital."

"My father was a temp resident there for about 3 weeks. I have to say, the nurses and staff were very kind. My dad had very good care there. I'm glad that the center took my dad when no other facility could. Thank you Claremont Care Center of Pomona, GOOD JOB! "

"This is a small skilled nursing facility tucked into a residential neighborhood. The grounds are quaint, but there's not much parking. The rooms were clean and are semi-private. I didn't see too many patients out in the hallways and the ones I saw looked clean; I didn't detect any odors. The menu included typical hospital fare and I don't think the food is made from scratch. The lobby was recently remodeled as were the grounds so that patients can use them for rehab. The staff I encountered were friendly. "
