I came to visit a long time friend that recently moved into this place, I have to say, by far, it is nice and clean, very homelike. At home she kept herself very busy. I am happy to see hey have many options here to keep the Residdnts busy with a variety of activities daily, from going on outings with facility employees, to having organized table games. My friend also informed me that she can request materials so that she can keep busy if she feels like staying in her room. I think she will continue to be very happy here! 10/10

My friend is in Santa Anita Retirement Center. Her son found it. She is already in an assisted living facility. I think mostly why he chose it was because of the fee, the amount that they could afford. It's OK. They get three meals a day. The dining room is nice. They have a movie room, and they have a TV room. The only activity I know of was bingo. It's very minimum amenities from what I've seen. The residents have their own TV in their rooms. They have a place you can go out and sit, but it probably could be a little more open like a patio-style garden area. My friend has been there for three weeks now. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They're very eager to help. I haven't tried the food, but she's been complaining about the food. I think ever since she was at the rehab facility when she left the hospital, she hasn't been eating the food. She says she doesn't like it. When I have seen the food, it looked OK to me. The food looks presentable. The only activity I know is bingo. They play bingo six days a week.

I moved into Santa Anita Retirement Center. It's close to all my family. It's nice. It's clean. There's a nice patio out here. No smoking. Nobody here smokes, which makes it nice. And they have activities every other day for the people that are here, for the residents. They have like an exercise program, bingo, meetings and people can have their grievances or what they like and things like that. So it's interesting. The assistance that I need is getting into bed, not getting out or anything else, but just getting into the bed. The meals are adequate. The staff is very helpful. They keep it clean, they come in and clean. They pick up your laundry every day and deliver it. They need to improve on the meals, they're good at 90 percent, but sometimes you get a bummer meal.

Santa Anita Retirement Center looked nice. The staff seemed nice enough. It was all one story, and there was an outside area that seemed nice.

Santa Anita was good, and I think it’s on the ground level. Each studio or apartment has access to the patio, and it’s better as you can just walk out to the courtyard. The manager was very helpful.

The rooms are smaller at Santa Anita Retirement Center, but I like the community. There was more outside area for people to sit and they have more activity rooms for the residents. The staff seemed very nice. I like the idea that they have continental breakfast for people who get up early and they didn’t have to sit in the dining room if they choose not to. They also have different activities like excursions, casinos, and museums. If they could just lower the price, that would be better.

While the nurses in my grandmothers unit are very nice and take good care of her my problem is with their therapy program and the administration. The therapist did not take my grandmother to therapy when they should have (the nurses have actually told us this). According to the therapist she was not progressing. How can there be progress if they did not work with her on a daily basis. And my grandmother's roommate is a bully and we have made several complaints (along with other families) and nothing has been done, The administrators answer to this is to move my grandma. Which makes no sense. She makes it very difficult to visit my grandmother.

Santa Anita was very nice, but they did not have a secure unit. When they saw how John was, they said he had to be in a secure unit. I liked the rooms, and I already accepted it, but they couldn’t take my brother. They took us on a little tour of the place.

I like Santa Anita Retirement Center. We chose them because they provided more services for less money. The facility is all clean. My mother-in-law is sharing a room with somebody, and that was our choice because she needs to have company, otherwise she hibernates. She has a nice room. It is very cheery, not dark. There are lots of activities in the facility that she could participate in. They even have an activity director. They have field trips, bingo, sing-a-longs, and puzzles. They have a library and a media room. They also have a comfortable visiting room to either be there with a friend or with your family. The food is good. She has special dietary needs, and they have taken care of them. She seems very happy there.

This facility is a 391 bed Convalescent rehab Nursing hospital I gave it a one star rating due to lack of care due to many beds to give important care ,attention to the needs of the patients also not sure if aides that work at this facility are qualified to give any type of care due to lack of language or experience in this field of nursing and caregiving or certified . I would recommend separating mental stage patients to a different unit . This is a for profit facility , charge a fee share of cost. Food is not good.

My dad lives at Santa Anita Retirement and Assisted Living Center. He has a nice sunny big room and a private bathroom. Their rates are super reasonable around $2300 a month. Their staff is excellent. Everything is clean. They have beautiful dining rooms. They have a beautiful library with videos, books, and movies. They have a game room and they have outdoor areas which are very nice. I can't say enough about them. Their housekeepers are excellent. I had a couple of meals there and it's adequate. They give the residents several choices. They always have a salad, a soup, two or three different juices they could choose from, coffee and tea and deserts. The meals are sufficient.

When my grandmother (10 years ago) and my dad (1 year ago) fell ill and could no longer live with assistance, my family and I chose this place because it was only 5 minutes away. The family is located in a very nice and quiet area in the suburbs next to Live Oak Park. The facilities were very plain and unassuming, but kept very clean. The hospital had a very nice staff, but was quite limited especially at night. Sometimes, it took a while to get whatever my father or grandmother needed or even forgotten. They provide an activity center as well as meals tailored to the patient's or client's need. The head staff were very nice and detailed when it came to bringing my grandmother and father into the hospital and helped my family through whatever process was needed. Again, with the limited staff, sometimes it was difficult for my parents to understand since they didn't understand English very well and it took a while to find an interpreter. The nursing staff can be a bit of hit or miss. Some were extremely caring and understand while others seemed like they didn't want to be there, but overall I think positively of the staff at Santa Anita Convalescent Hospital and Retirement Center.
