"I loved Clearwater at Glendora. It was amazing, and I would live there if I could. It looks like a five-star hotel from the way it was set up. They have a big bar where they have drinks of the day. They have a movie theater and a cafeteria. The bathroom was nice, too. I saw the studio, but it didn't even look like a studio. It was bigger and accommodating. It had a full-size refrigerator and a sink. The staff introduced me to some patients, which was nice. I like the movie theater. They had an exercise room. The living atmosphere was calming and nice. It's more family-oriented. The staff members were really friendly. The facility is brand new."

"This is assisted living with several levels of care, including Memory Care and a skilled nursing facility. In addition to the many activities and programs, there is an exercise gym with lots of equipment (Wellness Facility) and a plethora of therapy dogs. (Residents can own a cat or dog.) It is located near lots of restaurants and coffee shops. Solheim has received a 5-star rating. However, in my opinion, communication between staff and residents/families could be improved.. "

"I have a friend who is currently staying here. She lost her husband about 20 years ago and she had been living on her own until last year. She had a stroke and was unable to take care of herself alone. The location of Merrill Gardens is quiet and beautiful. It's a slow paced town, which is nice for the residents there. The facilities are nice, but they need to be updated a bit. They are starting to get worn down and look a bit ragged. The staff that I was around that day were great. They were extremely helpful to myself, but more importantly, to her. They always made sure that she had everything she needed or if she needed any help even if I was there to do so. The garden there is great. It's beautiful and I saw a lot of residents there using it to visit with family and friends. My friend's bedroom was very comfortable. She seemed to have everything that she needed. It was decorated nicely and it was kept fairly clean. "

"The staff is amazing. Everything they do has a specific reason that benefits my mom in the memory care. It's a brand new facility. When you walk in, they make you feel like a family. My mom just went in last Thursday, and it's been an amazing experience so far. They treat them with respect and dignity, and I really like that. They have a nice dining room, activity rooms, and indoor/outdoor activities. There are things going on all the time that engage them. It's wonderful. They only stay in their room pretty much just to sleep. They have executive chefs, and the food is absolutely amazing. We ate two meals with mom. My daughter went to an open house that they had, and she tasted food from around the world. 90% of the food that they do is fresh, and it is as good as any restaurant I've ever been to."

"Glen Park at Glendale was OK. My friend kind of like it except that it had a Hollywood theme, and I think he may have felt a little bit intimidated. All of their hallways had pictures of Hollywood artists, and he said he felt like after a while, he'd grow tired of seeing those pictures. The rooms were fairly nice but a little bit small, and it was a kitchenette and bedroom altogether. It had quite a few spaces where you could go outside to just sit and look around. It was pretty nice, but it just wasn't his cup of tea. They have an activity room and a couple of little spots here and there throughout where people could sit and chitchat. The staff and the director who assisted us were very friendly and nice. Everything was easy to get to. "

"We chose here for my brother. It's a big facility, and it had more range of younger people; that is why we chose this for him. The size of the facility seemed to have more things to offer for my brother. The food is very good. I have eaten there a couple of times myself, and the waitresses are very accommodating. The rooms were clean, and then the staff that comes in to clean are very good. It would be nice if they would have more personal transportation for my brother if he needed to go some places. "

"We chose Emeritus because it was available. It seemed to be okay. They were friendly enough and the staff was alright. I think the facilities were alright. We ate there one time and it was okay. The room was spacious enough. "

"La Posada was wonderful. With this one, we wouldn't even look any further had they had availability. The apartments were roomy. They had lots of activities going on. They had different activity rooms. The staff was more than generous in helping and answering questions. The dining area looked great. La Posada would have been our first choice but they were full. It was more expensive, but the staff was wonderful. They had a small outdoor patio, which was nice. They had lots of activities going on, which was nice for people if they're in the assisted living part."

"Wonderful facility, only a bit over six years old. Homey and comfortable. Great dining room, kind and caring staff. They have always been available to answer questions, provide needed updates on my relative's condition, and work with us as needed to give them the best care possible. A serene, pleasant atmosphere throughout. Residents are treated with respect and kindness. Our family has great peace of mind that our loved one is able to be in a safe, comfortable and loving home."

"My mother is in Sakura Gardens of Los Angeles. My parents are Japanese and the nice thing is they have Japanese-speaking caregivers and the food served is a selection of continental and Japanese cuisine. They can select what they want to eat. No resident got COVID in the past four months, so I think the safety is great. They have a lot of activities and volunteers from the Japanese community come out and do things in Japanese for them. They have beautiful gardens, a huge koi pond, waterfalls, rock sculptures, and bonsai trees within the grounds. However, a new owner took over, and they've been increasing the rent. The elevators are not working all the time, and the air conditioning breaks down once in a while. The staff is incredible and they do everything to help the residents. They've just remodelled everything, and it's very affordable."

"I've been in Leisure Vale Assisted Living for approximately 17 months now. It holds very well. I'm cared for by the staff. They have three meals a day. The food is good. My apartment has a refrigerator, a microwave and a TV. Every day, there's some type of activity. They got a lot of bingo and charades. They're always helpful like that in activities. You can walk out and enjoy the outside. There are seating and tables and rec rooms where they have televisions inside them and vending machines. For being an assisted living, it's very comforting."

"Hollenbeck Palms was clean. The staff was very friendly and very accommodating. The rooms were very clean and very nice. That's why I decided to it would be good to settle then. The dining room was very large and clean with lots of tables. They had a lot of different activities there that a lot of people could relate to. There's a lot of music, a lot of interactive games like Sudoku, which I really love doing. "

"My friend liked the environment at Glen Terra, and it was close to his doctors. The room is one of the reasons why we chose it because the room he got is kind of like two rooms. It's a separate bedroom and then a dividing wall to where he has the dining room and kitchenette. It's not like being in a nursing home where you're in one room, and that's it. They have a room where they play Bingo, and they have a day once a month where all the gentlemen get together and play cards, they have outings where they walk about and do activities, a big community living room where they can watch TV, play games, exercise, and a few other things going on there. Everybody I've met so far has been pretty nice, welcoming ,and pleasant to be around. It was better for parking, staff was nice, and everything was nice. "
