Adult Day Care Communities in Arcadia, CA

"Took a visit to Golden Years a week ago to get an idea of how they operate. Yesterday, I took my uncle to the care center, and the staff was very welcoming. There are people of different ethnicities, so one won't feel alone, considering their communication. The staff is very generous, and many activities take place at the care center. They do have live performances too. This place has exceeded my expectations. Bringing my uncle to this center was undoubtedly a great decision. He surely will make some good friends, and it'll be his other home in no time. Thank you, Golden Years, for creating."

"Alta Med is a brand new facility. The staff was very accommodating, very friendly, and very knowledgeable. It’s very immaculate and clean. They have an activity room where they can interact with other people. They have a calendar of events, they have a pharmacy, doctors, and nurses there. The ratio of attendants to clients is good. "

"This review is based on my visit to HealthGuard ADHC as I was looking for placement for a close relative: I visited this center in February 2015. I met "I" who introduced herself as a staff RN. This RN walked us through the facility, talking most of the time. It felt more like a show & tell sales pitch to me rather than being attentive and perceptive to questions that I might have for her and about the center. After the tour, I had sat down with a social worker to discuss details of care (in a office room because there was no other meeting place suitable for private conversation) when our mtg was unprofessionally interrupted (barged in would be more accurate) by RN "I" to say that I had exhausted her time and that of her staff unless I was an enrolled participating family member (she spoke with authority as if she was part of management/ownership). As we were walking out of this office door, someone had tried to call the social worker, no doubt to expedite our meeting to come to a close. This clearly communicated that they are not focused client needs nor fostering good relationships with potential family members. Simply put, those interactions translated to me that they were focused on the money making aspect of my visit. In addition, the outdoor patio is an extension of the black asphalt parking lot that's filled with their smoking participants. It's basically a smokers area with patio tables and chairs. Unfortunately with no closed off doors nor wall for that fact (I think it was one of those pull down garage walls), the center allows second hand smoke to infiltrate the adjacent indoor recreational room. This explained the immediate smell of cigarette smoke when I had walked into this center. I'm sorry but I can not endorse a Health center that doesn't advocate for the health of those who have no choice but to take in the second hand smoke (especially for those who are non-smokers and trying to enjoy the recreational activities). Perhaps your visit experience would be different but my experience was not positive. I gave one star because the social worker was nice, professional and attentive to our needs. "

" IAM RECOVERING FROM A CVA AND HAVE BEEN ATTENDING COMFORT FOR THE PAST 6MONTHS THE STAFF IS GREAT PRIOR TO ATTENDING COMFORT I WAS REHABING AT WHITE MEMORIAL OUT PATIENT REHAB SERVICES THE STAFF THERE TOLD ME TO GET RID OF THE NOTION THAT I WOULD EVER WALK AGAIN AT COMFORT I HAVE BEEN WORKING WITH THE STAFF PT AND OT'S AND AM NOW WALKIN,ALBEIT CAUTIOUSLY WITH A HEMI- WALKER AND AM NOW INDEPENDENT IN MY USE OF RESTROOMS ,SHOWERS I TRULY OWE MY RECENT SUCCESSES TO THE STAFF OF COMFORT ADHC AND WOULD HIGHLY RECCOMEND TO ANY MOTIVATED AND DETERMINED STROKE SURVIVOR TO THIS CENTER AS AN AID IN RECOVERY IF YOUR WILLING TO PUT IN THE WORK THEY ARE WILLING TO HELP A GREAT AID TO CARE GIVERS AS THE CENTER OFFERS A RESTBIT TO THE GRIND OF THE CARE OF LOVED ONES"
