"Everything about Valencia Commons was very good, but it is not in my reach. It costs so much that I cannot figure out any way that I could live there. The rooms were very nice. The staff was very nice, very helpful, and informative. The food was very good. They had many activities. I loved their location; it was beautiful. I think everything is very commendable, but the one thing that stood out for me was the amount that they charge for living there, and I couldn't afford it. They are a very high visibility place, and I love it there. I've been there several times, and the girl that usually meets me and takes me to anything that was going on there is very, very nice. She called me up and told me that they were lowering the price, but that still didn't give me enough that I could afford it. So I just had to thank them very much. It is wonderful that they lowered it, but it still isn't anything I can afford. I think it is just a marvelous place to live, but it is very expensive. It has a very nice atmosphere. I don't even know if I have words to explain how pleasant and nice it is. "

"It is a huge place with beautiful grounds, it's lively, and there's so much going on. The people there were wonderful, their dining room was huge, and you can go in at any time and get whatever meal you want. I talked to mom's friend who moved in there, and she's happy there. They have daily activities. "

"I toured Park View Place. The facilities are newer. It's not a very big facility. Everybody seemed to know each other. Everything was well organized and clean. The staff was great. Everyone was welcoming and willing to answer any questions we had. The place was extremely clean. We saw two rooms, and they were in great shape. There's nothing wrong with it."

"My mom is very happy here. They are very friendly and conscientious and seem to care for everyone. "

"I like Clearwater at Glendora. It's awesome, and the people that work there are super awesome. It's immaculate, organized, and welcoming. The staff is awesome. It's very crisp, very sunny, bright and happy. They showed me everything. They showed me where they eat, and they showed me the various rooms that they have. Everything looks very new. Everything is clean and fresh and not stuffy at all. It's not a small area that tries to squeeze a lot of people in. It's a big area. The apartments were very spacious compared to the other ones that I saw."

"My aunt and uncle moved to Bayshire Yorba Linda. They can accommodate a lot of things. The grounds are kept clean and the atmosphere is very inviting. It was very spacious. It didn't seem like everything was kind of crammed in. The people that we met there were very helpful and very kind. We haven't run into any problems as far as helping my aunt and uncle. The food is very good. My uncle is not as social as my aunt. Even within memory care, they have a lot of activities to stimulate their brain, and to keep them busy. We've been very happy with the available activities. The value of memory care is awesome. It's pretty reasonable."

"Oakmont of Capriana is relatively small, like 100 people, and it's a CCRC, which is what we're looking for. In the independent living, the apartments were relatively large with high ceilings and they had nice views (the place we're looking at has a view of a garden and a koi pond). Then over beyond, there's a pool. It had all the amenities: the gym, the library, and things like that. The staff was all very helpful. Everybody was friendly. They responded to phone calls and they were just very good. We had great food there and we met with residents and talked with them. It was a good experience. They also do a great job with the cleanliness."

"Everything seemed perfect for my father. It?s clean and has a nice environment. The staff is nice and cooperative. The rooms are spacious and clean with a nice carpet and the bathrooms are remodeled. They discuss various activities during the week and they have a monthly schedule on the wall so everybody may be aware of it. "

"The Meridian at Anaheim Hills was beautiful. It had the room I would have loved. They were very nice. It was a beautiful place, I would have loved to go there, but I thought I would be better off in the long run where I’m now. Food was very good. The dining area was a beautiful room. The Meridian at Anaheim Hills is very nice; however, I didn’t like them separating people. If you’re in a place like that and you get to a point where you need help, you have to move to a different room, and I didn’t like that idea. "

"I visited.It's an assisted living place and overall it was fine for me especially because they had an enclosed little dog park. The place was beautiful. The person who assisted me during the tour was wonderful. He was very good with follow-through and was very personable. I also observed that they have a very friendly staff."

"Corona RCFE was very nice, and the people were very friendly. The grounds were good. The room is perfect for my mother who is 92. She just needs a room with a little bed, a chair, and a TV. That's all she needs. It looks like she can go out and go to the dining room area, and things like that, and they have those things available too. The staff who helped me was very friendly and answered all the questions. She was very good. I didn't sample the food, but the dining area was fine. For activities, they have a little room where people can go and they can meet with each other and play games and so on, so that's fine."

"The staff that we talked to were very helpful. She was very upfront. They have a lot of activities for people to do. It looks like a nice community."

"We toured The Grove Assisted & Independent Living. They do not do laundry, which is what my wife needs as she cannot do laundry. That's the only thing that I noticed we did not like. It was assisted living that we looked at and the rooms were smaller than what we wanted. They're studios and it's like being confined to a small space as they had very little place to go. When we were there, we only saw, I think, two people. The person who took us around and one helper so I didn't see much of the staff."

"Emerald Court was the first one that I went to, and it is one where I know a couple of people who are there and who are happy with it. I know they don’t have memory care because the one lady who is there from my church moved in with her husband, and it was just too much change for him. He was getting Alzheimer’s and had declined pretty rapidly, and she had to put him somewhere else because Emerald Court does not offer memory care. My aunt is a bit dingy, and I don’t know that she is going to need memory care, but it seemed like a good idea to put her somewhere they had it so that it would be less of a transition if she needed to go into it. I thought their apartments were really nice. They were clean, modern, and up-to-date, granite countertops, and there was a built-in bookcase. I did have lunch there, and the food was OK. The negative to me was if you needed to go from independent to assisted, then you’d have to move units. "
