"My father is enjoying his time here. He appreciates the staff and they're all very kind and helpful. The facility has everything he needs and he enjoys the library. The rooms are large and a good size. His room didn't come furnished, so we had to bring stuff in, which was nice because we got to get him exactly what would work for him. It's more of an apartment. They have two large dining rooms so they can accommodate all the residents at the same time. They have a library."

"I toured West Park Senior Living and if somebody needed the help, it was perfect. They have a beautiful dining room for you to eat. They also have another little room if you want to play cards or if you want to do any kind of activities. They had quite a few things to do if you wanted to do them. The staff are very, very nice people. You ask them questions, they'll tell you exactly what you want to hear. Everything is good there."

"We toured The Grove Assisted Living. They have two floors for anyone that chooses independent living, and all the rest of it is assisted living. It is pretty good that they accommodate both. All the amenities that they have are great. They only have limited parking at the facility. I like that they utilize the off-property parking as well, but the lighting was not too good over there walking through the neighborhood and coming home, so it's kind of dangerous for the seniors. That's the only problem I have. They serve food basically all day long. When they're not serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, there are places where you can get snacks, so it is still food."

"I toured Park View Place. The facilities are newer. It's not a very big facility. Everybody seemed to know each other. Everything was well organized and clean. The staff was great. Everyone was welcoming and willing to answer any questions we had. The place was extremely clean. We saw two rooms, and they were in great shape. There's nothing wrong with it."

"We toured Clearwater at Glendora. It looks pretty new, well-kept, and has a lot of decorated places to sit, lots of activities going on, and recreational facilities. The food was good."

"My dad was at Truewood by Merrill, West Covina, for a month until he passed away. My mom is still there. She is still in the studio apartment that they have, but it is now above her income level. It's a beautiful place. It's very nice. I really like it. The experience started slow for my mom because you have to consider that it's very personal for the seniors coming in. It is a new way of life. However, from the receptionist to the director, everyone is so welcoming and so personable. They have several activities during the week. The first month is hard. Sometimes, seniors don't want to come out, but they make everyone feel comfortable. It is a struggle for my mom getting in and out. First it was because my dad was sick and she didn't like to leave him in the room, and now it's because he's gone, and she's got to start all over again. However, every worker down to the kitchen staff is amazing. They make you feel like family there. They give you the weekly menus, and on the opposite side of it, there is a list of all activities for the whole week. They have special events where they have people come out. I'm welcome to go there any time and hang out with my mom. They have ways that you can order additional plates for your family; there's a small cost, but it's lovely to know that I can go sit down and have dinner with her. It doesn't feel overwhelming. The building looks smaller than it is when you're looking from the outside, but when you get in, the openness, the cleanliness, and the friendliness are so inviting that once I started walking around there, I knew I was going to like the place. I like the fact that their activity area is open and very close to the seating area for the kitchen where everyone eats. It doesn't feel like you're walking into a small room to do activities. They have a pool table in there, too. There's like a movie event room where they have movie chairs set up. We could sit down and watch movies. They go to church and read from the Bible, too. I have been invited to sit there and play bingo with them. There is a salon in there. If you call in and make an appointment, they will come do your hair for you, so that's cute. There's a small exercise room that has two treadmills, little dumbbells, and resistance bands. Diana, the activities director, took videos of my mom doing bass yoga. They have big yoga balls and little sticks, and she's playing music. They do their best to pull their residents out. If you have a parent or an elder who is a little bit far gone, activity reminders and meal reminders are in those care level plans where they will go to your room and say, 'Hey Mary, we're doing bingo. Come on. Let's go play, and let's go hang out.' They do it in a fun, light way. It's not like, 'Okay, you got to join.' It's not robotic. It's very family and friendly oriented. What's awesome is that they have meetings there for the residents to speak up about what it is that they may want to enjoy. It's not just about the kitchen staff, it's really about the residents coming together and speaking up and talking about some different things that they would like to have. I think the food is great. I also love that they do omelet bars and special events. The building is amazing. I think the furniture that they have is amazing, too. There is an outdoor area off to the side of the building. There is a seating area that looks like it could be wonderful, but the lawn furniture they have out there is severely broken down, very dusty, and dirty. Maybe when the summer comes around, they'll fix it up. Even for the winter, it is a little bit of an eyesore. The inside of the building is immaculate. The cost is a bit high, but I'd have to say I can't complain, because all utilities are included plus cable. They also give each of their residents a Life Alert bracelet. It's free. It comes with your rent. They have their own bus to get back and forth to appointments and to store runs. It's amazing. Of course, they provide all their foods, like breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, desserts, and drinks. I think $2900 is not a bad price point with all of that being included. The only thing that's left over for the residents to do is buy their own resources for their room like toilet paper, lotion, soap, and whatever they need. It is difficult for seniors on a fixed income to get to $2900, but the truth is you get what you pay for. I might go cheaper, but it may not be as wonderful as this place."

"I visited.It's an assisted living place and overall it was fine for me especially because they had an enclosed little dog park. The place was beautiful. The person who assisted me during the tour was wonderful. He was very good with follow-through and was very personable. I also observed that they have a very friendly staff."

"Corona RCFE was very nice, and the people were very friendly. The grounds were good. The room is perfect for my mother who is 92. She just needs a room with a little bed, a chair, and a TV. That's all she needs. It looks like she can go out and go to the dining room area, and things like that, and they have those things available too. The staff who helped me was very friendly and answered all the questions. She was very good. I didn't sample the food, but the dining area was fine. For activities, they have a little room where people can go and they can meet with each other and play games and so on, so that's fine."

"My aunt and uncle moved to Bayshire Yorba Linda. They can accommodate a lot of things. The grounds are kept clean and the atmosphere is very inviting. It was very spacious. It didn't seem like everything was kind of crammed in. The people that we met there were very helpful and very kind. We haven't run into any problems as far as helping my aunt and uncle. The food is very good. My uncle is not as social as my aunt. Even within memory care, they have a lot of activities to stimulate their brain, and to keep them busy. We've been very happy with the available activities. The value of memory care is awesome. It's pretty reasonable."

"I visited The Meridian at Anaheim Hills and toured their memory care for my mom. It was nice and organized, and everybody was very caring. It seemed like it had good activity programs. The memory care was clean and well-organized. They had a dining area and an activity room. The staff who toured me around was also very knowledgeable."

"I toured Mission Commons. The lady there was very helpful with everything. It's a really nice place. The grounds are nice. They have a backyard where you can walk your loved ones around. They have activities. You can have your hair down there. I mean, it just offers a lot for the people who are there. The one I saw was like a studio. It was nice and roomy. They had a little kitchen, a refrigerator, and a closet area. The upkeep was very nice. The grass was mowed. Everything was clean. I would recommend the place. They have a gym and a hair salon there. They have a little area where you can play, like do puzzles, and it's for people who want to sit there or chat. Also, they're pet-friendly."

"I liked Westmont of Riverside a lot, but it was very huge for my sister. She probably would be better off with a smaller facility. I saw a cafeteria. I saw two studios. I saw their entrance, and basically we walked from the entrance to a wing, which was a good distance. They're set up to where people are a good distance from administration, which I wasn't really happy with. If my sister were to be there and she needed administrative business to be conducted, it would be very difficult for her to get there. It was quite clean. There seemed to be the occasional attendant in each wing, but I didn't see a lot of people milling about. It was nice to see that it was not too crowded, but on the same token it was also disconcerting that people were so far apart from help. The staff member was conscientious, and I connected well with them. She was quite friendly with the help, and courteous with the clients. I would still give them a very high score because they are a premium facility. They are selective in their clientele. They explained that people needing more than one person in attendance were not good applicants. My sister is not a good applicant, not that she needed more than one attendant at a time, but because she needed an attendant to get her up. That would mean someone would have to be with her, and that's not something that they're geared to do."

"I will move into Sunnycrest Senior Living. It has a great program, the food is good, and the programs they put on during the day and at various times look interesting. It's close to a good hiking path or for walking. The atmosphere is great. The tenants that I met all seemed happy. It was clean and wonderfully kept, and had a nice courtyard. All the rooms were very nice. They have a gym, libraries, card playing, game rooms, and stuff like that. They were wonderful. All the people I met were first class."
