Nursing Home Communities in Claremont, CA

"My husband was at Pilgrim Place Health Services Center. It had occupational therapy and physical therapy. They had activities there. It's really a good skilled nursing facility. They have a huge assisted living facility there for seniors. It took a while to get his medicine figured out. He has Parkinson's, so it's very specific, like he has to have his medicine six times a day, and the medicine people are just used to three times a day, so it kind of threw them off. Sometimes, he didn't get his medicine on time. That was probably the biggest complaint, but everything else was good. The food was good. He loved his physical therapy. He liked the activities. It's clean. It feels like a home, even though it's skilled nursing. It's nicely designed with artwork, and the staff is great. The nurses are great. It's a great place. They had art, movies, singing, and exercise. They had a lot of activities. They have a courtyard. When you first walk into Pilgrim Place, there's a huge patio to sit outside. They have a nice room for family, like a big dining room for people to come visit. They have another room for church. Medicare paid for it."

"My husband is in Claremont Manor Care Center. They are quite good. The staff is very friendly, polite, and caring, and the management is not chaotic. They are organized and responsive. Sometimes the staff is good, but sometimes when you try to get a hold of someone, it's a little bit difficult. Sometimes, the phone is not picked up, and you have to leave a message. My husband likes the food, so I think it's good. It's clean and well maintained. Everything is OK. You don't smell those odors or something. They have physical therapy, and they have social activities almost every day, morning and afternoon, and the director of the social activities will come in and ask whether they'd like to go or not. My husband enjoys those social activities most of the time. They are not cheap. They are more expensive than the previous one we tried, almost double, but the service is good. Value for money is good."

"Mt. San Antonio Gardens is near where I live. It's a lifecare community and it is very pleasant. It has a central dining hall, library, and community dining room. They have apartment type facilities and a lot of small duplexes/cottages. The grounds are very clean. They have a couple of open houses and information sessions a couple of times a year and I've tasted their food. It was delicious. The dining area was clean, neat, and didn't smell at all."

"My mother-in-law was Country Villa of Claremont before she passed away. It was recommended by her doctors and it was close to home. We spent as much time with her as possible because we didn't know how much time we had. The staff was always very considerate and caring, and always offered us things. The atmosphere was very homey and caring. The faciility had 2 large patios with tables and umbrellas for the residents and their families to use. It also had a far side room where you could always have private time away from other things. It had a big table, a TV, and a fireplace. They also had a multi-purpose room where they had activities everyday for residents. My mother-in-law was in a shared a room. The first room we were in didn't work out because ours was extra small and the other person's was extra large. When they moved us to a different room, it was more equally divided and was a much nicer room. It looked out onto the garden. My husband liked the food at this facility. I liked the staff and the cleanliness of the place the most. My mother-in-law said that the facility was beautiful. "

"I am a patient here for the third time due to various leg surgeries. I have progressed so much in the last month. I am now walking, climbing stairs, transferring to a regular chair, and to the car. I have spent 3 years in a wheelchair. I truly believe my vast improvement is due to the staff in general. I find all to be encouraging, caring, helpful, and knowledgeable. I came back this time due to above reasons. I have recommended Claremont Care Center to others due my satisfaction. I have been in other facilities and did not like them. "

"My brother is in the Inland Valley Rehabilitation Center. My brother is receiving excellent care. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. He was getting along well. They are all willing to help, and they are very nice. They have a visiting area."

"We chose Park Avenue Healthcare & Wellness Center because this is the place that suited my father the most out of all of the facilities he's been in. He's been there a couple of months. They take care of him very well, the staff treats them very well. They feed him and he's doing good and not gaining any more weight. They have different activities like board games and different things they do for the seniors. It's also located near everything."

"My mother-in-law has been in Montclair Manor. The people who works there are very nice. The management was very informative and caring about her costs and things like that. We had a little bit of trouble getting it accurate in the end. There were more bills that came in that we didn't understand. They overcharged us but they reimbursed us and so we were happy. The rooms were adequate and mom was a fall-risk person so they put mats on the floor and they put the bed down and they had adequate stuff for her to prevent any type of fall. The food was good. It was good that they served her a lot of snacks. She did very well there. The facility was old but clean. They needed a lot of maintenance there like painting and some things that needed to be replaced. "

"Hillcrest was great, beautiful, have lots of gardens and they have a bird sanctuary and they were bigger. My concern was that it might be kind of big for somebody that has trouble walking, but I think everything is probably accessible in their area. It seemed like they had good medical attention in both. It is very nice looking, inviting like you would want to live there, and very well kept up. They have a pool, they have a lot of amenities, they have a chapel, and shuttles can just take them to places, and they have cottages. People help and showed us around; it was very nice. The food was really good, and they were stimulating them socially. "

"Pomona Vista Care Center is really good, they've treated my dad very well. They have a nice, clean facility, the staff is friendly and they're good with my father. They also have very good food. They dressed up all the time and they go around like they are suited up in costumes or different characters and they do their duties that way. The layout of the place is nice, and it's in a central location."

"I had a friend who used to live at Heritage Court long time and since then it has been remodeled and everything is really nice. When I went there for dinner before for my friend, their rooms are double rooms, but now they are all single rooms and each of them has their own microwave and refrigerator which is really nice and it's fairly spacious. My mother-in law is there right now and she has a nice view out of the window where she sees some trees and grass. She also likes to be outside and they have a really nice patio with flowers and a fountain. They have a really huge living room with a huge TV and they do activities there and they have another activity room. They have a lot of activities. She likes their Bible study and they also have church activities on Sunday. They also have trivia, contest or games. The food is good and she likes the food. The people that worked there seemed competent and nice. They are very welcoming to visitors. We think that the care she is getting is good. The residents are also friendly and they were pretty much mentally alert. The nice thing about the facility also is that they have a nursing facility next door. One time she broke her hip and she went into their nursing facility and after that she went back to their assisted living facility so that was an easy transition. Their cost was also reasonable compared with the other facilities that we've looked at. The place is very clean and nicely decorated. They have a good air conditioning system. Overall, we've been very pleased with it. "

"My mom stayed at Casa Bonita Convalescent. She was around more sick people and it was kind of scary for her. She had a sharp mind at the time. I have nothing bad to say about them because they did all they could. The staff was OK, and there weren't any problems. They keep busy and it's not like they would help you right away. They have a routine to follow, otherwise they'd spend too much time on one patient. The management staff was really nice and helpful though. My mom's room was decent and she had her own bathroom. It was pretty good-sized, comfortable, and had a window. She went to therapy, gave her baths, and did a perm and haircut for her as needed, which she was happy about."

"My father is in Upland Rehabilitation and Care Center. He came in last night. So far, it's okay. It's good. I have a cousin that was here before, and she just told us that she liked it, so that's the reason why we came here. I think they can update. It's decent inside, but it's just a little outdated. They do offer patio visits, which is nice because you can have as many people as you want on the patio. So far, the staff is nice. Everything seems old. The outside appearance doesn't look new, it looks like from the 1970s."
