Assisted Living Communities in Edison, NJ

"The apartment complex at Sunrise Communities is very white, with very narrow hallways. The rooms itself are fairly big; it is a five story building with retired seniors living in it. The complex itself was very well maintained, very well lit, and seemed like a very quiet place. They had activities set up on weekends for all of the residents. Each hall had a coordinator, who would stop by the rooms between two to three times a day to make sure that everyone was well. Some seniors living in the homes needed assistance; families were constantly in and out of the facility every time I entered. Other seniors received assistance from the caretakers assigned to them who worked at the facility. Generally speaking, the vibe of the community was relatively vibrant. Although I personally would not want to live there, I think it makes a great place for senior citizens. "

"Spring Hills Somerset seems to be a superior operation. The place is extraordinarily well taken care of and well decorated much more like a personal residence. Their food is extraordinary, too. The staff seems nice. You can't tell about the staff until you got someone there and you see them working; however, you can see how neat and how nicely decorated the place is, and how well kept and clean it is. You can see that just on visiting. They are expensive, but their list of available activities was extensive and widely varied."

"We feel that CareOne at Somerset Valley was too big of a place for what we're looking for. We just went there to look it over, and they suggested that my sister go on level one. I think it would be good for a more social person, but she isn't a very social person. It was a very nice facility, but for our needs, we're looking for something smaller. The rooms were very sufficient. They gave everyone what a person would need. It was clean, bright, and cheerful. The staff was very pleasant and very helpful with their questions. We did not try the food there, but the dining area looked very pleasant."

"Mother has been here for three weeks now, and everything is going well. I have a friend whose mother is there, so she recommended it. I went there to visit, and we loved it, so I went back right away to put a deposit on them and got her in there as quickly as possible. The staff is very helpful and very professional. The whole place is beautiful. I couldn't have asked for a better place. It feels like home, the people are nice, and it's clean. She gets meals, and the food is fine. They have a lot of stuff going on all day long, and it's really up to the individual to participate or not, i.e., movies everyday, video games, and bingo. I would definitely recommend them. Everything is perfect about it."

"The staff at Mira Vie at East Brunswick was very good. I just thought it was too large for my sister-in-law to maneuver. It's a very nice place and it's very clean."

"When the doctors at Bayshore Hospital determined that my 91 year old mother needed special care that only an assisted living facility can provide, like any son who had cared for and lived with his mother during her time of need, I was a little apprehensive. My mother has been a resident of the Millennium Memory Care in Aberdeen (recommended to me by Bayshore Hospital) for close to a year now and I cannot begin to tell you how pleased I am with the attention of care my mother receives from their dedicated staff. Not only does she receive medical care, medication management and regularly scheduled checkups, they also provide a hair dresser and hold holiday parties. Now with the Covid-19 pandemic, the staff has suspended visitation and put other measures in place to safeguard the health of their residents. I would recommend this Care facility to anyone. "

"Warm welcome upon entering. Security at door is great. Nice and clean. Residents were dressed neatly and satisfied. Beautifully decorated. It was originally a hotel and transformed into an assisted living facility. There were very nice views from the rooms. Single rooms were fine. If you had a roommate, one of the beds was put into the kitchen area. I did not like that. There were 10 floors and you would need to use the elevators a few times a day to get to the dining area and activities. I would rather have to use the elevators so much. It is in the heart of downtown with alot of activity. If your loved one is able to really be on their own, then it would be terrific. "

"Arbor Glen is definitely clean, and the people we've been working with have been very attentive. The community seems to be like my mother in many respects. They have services for all denominations which is important for my mother, they have activities like bridge and other activities that she enjoys, and she's able to get the apartment that she wanted for the price that she wanted. They're putting in a whole new kitchen for her and update the closets for her. Her apartment is very clean and nice. It's older so they're starting to redo each apartment as they're taking over. "

"All 3 shifts of staff are very caring, attentive to the residents needs and carry out their responsibilities in a professional manner. The administration is mindful and respond quickly to any calls or questions family members may inquire on. I must include accolades to the Brielle's wellness division. My family member was well taken care of."

"The leadership team at Juniper is warm, welcoming and eager to help. My father receives excellent, loving care. The facility is clean, well-managed and well-staffed. The meals are conducive to varying dietary needs and it's delicious. Overall a 5 star."

"It was very nice. It was very clean. They just remodeled it. The person that showed me around was awesome. I like that facility. Barbara was our host. She was awesome, very knowledgeable, and very in tune with the patients or members of the community. There were a lot of activities for the members. They have a backup generator, which I thought was unique and different."

"We went to tour. This place was smaller and more compact, but it was very clean. I think it might be only five years old. The lady that gave us the tour, Amanda, was very nice and very pleasant. She was very helpful and explained everything. The rooms had a common area, a small kitchenette, a living room, and two bedrooms. So you would have to share the common area with somebody else because they would be in the other bedroom. And they were very, very small. You would just have the necessities that you take with you. You couldn't take a whole bedroom set and put it in there. The only thing you could put in there would be a bed and a dresser and maybe a small chair, and that's it. The closets are small. You cannot put a lot of clothes in there. I saw the dining area, which was very clean and the tables were set nicely, but I did not have any food. They have a calendar of activities, and each day is different. They have arts and crafts, movies, and light aerobics. They have a special room where they give you physical therapy. I think they have a company that comes in and does physical and speech therapy."

"I want to thank the incredible staff at Millennium Memory Care in Monroe for taking such good care of me these last three months. I want to especially thank Maria, John and Sara, who go out of their way to make my life and the lives of my loved ones so much better. They have love in their hearts and I am truly grateful to them for helping me get through the day. Without them, my family and I would be lost. With them, we can do no wrong. "I visited the Villas of Holmdel. It's brand new, and it opened two weeks before I went. It was very expensive, and it was extremely gorgeous. It's a dream place for me, I'm not old enough, but it's a dream place for me to go. It didn't have enough residents for what I was looking for. I wanted my mom to have an active life with residents rather than being there. Only 12 people were living in the place at the time, so that was why I didn't stay there. The place was amazing, and it was gorgeous. We were masked; it was very clean, and they were very cautious about following protocol. Not everything was up and running yet, but everything was brand new, stellar, and top of the line. Everything was top-of-the-line, including their salon and barbershop and they had a spa. I guess I didn't leave with a warm, fuzzy feeling. I left with the feeling that I like this place, but it was not going to work. I also met the nurse on staff, and she was super knowledgeable. I felt like I might have been rushed because the person who was supposed to see me went home sick. I was squeezed in on somebody else's schedule, so they probably were rushed, but they did show me everything. They have a little bakery cafe, like a boulangerie cafe and bistro area where you could sit and get little bagels and stuff at this outpost, but it's inside for them. They had a bar set up and a big, all-purpose room for shows, bands, and things. Everything was beautifully decorated, there wasn't a detail missed. There was an escalator and elevators, and there was a fountain, but they were still in the process of getting that running. There were a lot of nice calming features to it. The spa has a liquid, like a hydro bed or hydro massager that you could use. It was an amazing place, plus, they offered a massage. The facility was state-of-the-art. I didn't get an opportunity to taste the food, but they do have a happy hour. They have a drink maximum at their happy hour, you can only have two drinks in the privacy of your own room. It is expensive, but I think that the value equates to their prices."
