The higher costs reflect Monmouth County’s choice of rural locations, small cities and beach communities as well as its connections to major metropolitan areas of New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.
The Cost of Assisted Living in Monmouth County, NJ and Nearby Cities
Monmouth County and Freehold/Trenton are the most expensive areas for assisted living within New Jersey when compared to Atlantic City at $5,790 and Vineland at $6,523. Moving beyond the state line and into Pennsylvania, assisted living is more affordable at $5,550 for Philadelphia. Rates drop substantially for Allentown at $3,550 and even further in Scranton at $2,450. However, costs rise to $4,050 for seniors in and around the Lancaster area. For families considering the New York area, which includes Newark, average costs are more affordable at $5,991 a month.
