I visited this facility

I visited here. The receptionist, the director, and the person that did my tour were all wonderful. I liked that at the end they had warm sconce waiting for me to go. The facility reminded me of a bed and breakfast type of facility. They had a private dining room, it's very nice. It's a private dining room for a resident to use with their family. The main dining room, I would rate a three. It looks okay but wasn't glamorous. I knew it was an older facility, so it was clean, warmly decorated, and welcoming. I didn't get to try the food, but it looked good. They had barbecue ribs that night, and they smelled delicious. They had samples of each dish that was being served that night. So, you could see a visual of the meal for the day, like the chef's selections. As the residents walked in, they could see what was offered. I thought that was nice. I was at a point where I was trying to find a place that would take my mom. I loved the people that I met, and I was caught up in the people and I liked the people. My brother came in and he looked at the building. He saw the cracks in the wall, the need for repainting, and things like the worn-out carpet. I didn't notice any of it because I was focused on the different aspects. So, if we are looking at the building part, I think it's average, especially because it's older. They can improve with maybe small updates and repairs, there were things that need to be updated and repaired.

I visited this facility

I toured here. It's very quaint, like a bed and breakfast. It's a small facility, only 75 residents. It was clean. In terms of activities going on, they had current events; they had someone reading the newspaper going over current events for the day. That was all that was going on that day. I saw one building; memory care is on one floor and assisted living on another floor. The staff was super friendly, and warm. They sat down and spent time with me before I toured the facility. They got information on my dad. I like the idea of the medications being locked up downstairs. So, in order to get your medication, you have to come down and get it, versus them bringing it to your room. It forces the residents to come out of the room. I like the idea that there were only 75 residents, that it's very small, and that they have a variety there of ages, from people in their 70s to people over a hundred. They did, on my way out, give me hot scones to take home, which I thought was super sweet. There's nothing available right now.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother has been in here for a month. We like the size of the rooms. It is very clean. The people who work there seem very caring and attentive. They have activities and serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. If I have a question, there is always somebody who will give me the answer. They have a salon and do laundry once a week; they do not mix her laundry with other people's.

I visited this facility

It was right in the center of everything. The location was very good. They were very nice and very accommodating. Again, it had three meals, and it was more than I needed. I just put myself down and said, "Okay, that one I had to pursue, if and when I needed it, because the driving and the location was so good." They were very nice.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My husband had respite in here for four weeks. Surprisingly, he liked it very much. They did take good care of him. He liked the food, the atmosphere, the entertainment they had, the chair exercises, and the trivia. He was very happy there, and that made me happy. The apartments were large, and for anybody who is in a wheelchair or a walker, there's plenty of room. The bathroom was also nicely sized so that you didn't have to wiggle around. He had a television, a fridge, and a microwave. The dining room was very nice, and they could choose their food. The staff knew everybody's name. They really care. He had a physical therapist there too. When I visited, I saw people doing exercises. There was a lot of stimulation. They had outings, and he even went out in his wheelchair. I would recommend them.

We have already place our mother here. We found this place nice enough and small enough, and that we thought our mother would fit in quite well and she does. She likes it very much. She has been there for about two months now. The rooms are nice enough. Her room is bigger than what she had in Florida. She enjoys this place. It has a lot of public area, so she doesn't necessarily have to be stuck in her room. She thinks the food is OK. They have lots of activities going on. They have a full calendar everyday. As far as I know, the staff is fine. The people I have been dealing with there are excellent.

My husband is here. They're very nice. They're taking good care of him. It was very convenient. We just felt good about it when I talked to their director of marketing.
