The tour I had at Sunrise of Shrewsbury was wonderful. It was a lovely place, very livable, and very friendly. However, it was very expensive for me. The staff there was very accommodating. They helped me in every way they could. They took me through the whole place, and I was extremely impressed. The one that I looked at was a studio room. It was small but nice and livable. It had a very small kitchenette with a microwave, a sink, and a small refrigerator. There were so many activities. They had things like arts and crafts, games like bingo, and things like that. There was a book club which I'd be very interested in. They also had ceramic classes.

Sunrise of Shrewsbury is a beautiful new facility. It's big and it's gorgeous. I wish I was 55, I would move in tomorrow. I loved it. While I was waiting to go in for a tour, I heard a sing-along going on in the background. I was sitting in front of the fireplace there, I turned around, and they were having a sing-along for their happy hour. They have music playing and they were singing together and had their little drinks. Everybody seemed happy. Then I got to smell food, and I went home starving because it smells amazing. Nicole was amazing, she's the director. She gave me the tour because the other person had gone home already. While we walked around, she knew everybody's name. Everyone said hello and smiled at her. You couldn't have staged it to be that amazing. She was involved with everything, helping people that looked like they might have been struggling with their walk, getting an elevator, holding an elevator for somebody, and picking up things. If she saw a piece of trash on the floor, she'd take it out. She said, even though everybody has a job, no one here is above doing a different person's job, or below doing somebody else's job. Everyone's here to help. Whether the person is working on maintenance, or you're the director, or in sales, whatever your job is, if somebody needs a hand with something, you're willing to help. That's what they're looking for, for their staff, and that's why I fell in love with them. I only got to smell the food, but it smells amazing. We were there when some of the guests were finished eating already, and she asked everybody how they enjoyed their meal, and it was delicious. It's brand new, immaculate, and clean. It has all the amenities that you would want in a new place. Even when we went on the outside deck, they brought the pillows in to make sure that they didn't get rained on and whatnot. Since it was just built, they didn't miss a beat on amenities.

I went to Sunrise of Shrewsbury. They offered both assisted living and memory care. They also had rehab there, which is what both of my relatives would need since both of them had had a stroke. They will be able to be in the room together and I wanted them to be together. It was beautiful. They were phenomenal. They were very personable and informational. My sister and I were ready to sign them in right then and there. They showed us the room that they would be in. They told us about everything that they will be receiving. It was the perfect place. The assisted living would have been on the second floor. The memory care would've been on the third floor. The rooms had a bedroom, a living room, and a little dining area. They had a convenient kitchen, like if you were in a hotel. They had walk-in facilities in the bathroom. It was very conducive for somebody that needed extra care. My aunt is bedridden, but her husband could walk into the shower with some assistance. They offer everything. It was a full service. They have breakfast, lunch, and dinner, plus snacks. They could eat in their room if they wanted to, they could eat in the dining area with everybody, and with the weather being nice, they could eat out on their terrace. They wash their clothes (they take them at night, then they bring them back in the morning). I like the communication, what they offer, and their level of concern. They were phenomenal. It's a beautiful community.

The Sunrise of Shrewsbury is just beautiful. The facility is just beautiful. It's brand new. I think it's only been open for like three or four years. It's modern, and they have a lot of very, very nice outdoor space. In terms of balconies, decks, it's very, very pretty. It's small, but all the common areas are very, very well done. And I was impressed with the amount of outdoor space that they have considering how small it was, outdoor space they had for people to be able to sit outside. The staff was wonderful, fabulous. I looked at the menu and the dining room, and I thought the food was good. On Tuesday they had bingo. They had a Netflix club, which I thought was cool. They had some really kind of contemporary types of stuff going on. From a static perspective, I was impressed with Sunrise of Shrewsbury.

Mom was a lifelong resident of Rumson for 94 years. When the time came that she needed more assistance, we toured many of the local assisted living communities in the area. Sunrise of Shrewsbury felt like home to her, as soon as she walked in the door. The community is bright, nicely decorated compared to other facilities we toured, I would consider it top notch. The decision to move into Sunrise of Shrewsbury was a no brainer. Nicole and Tammy were most welcoming and made a thorough and easy to understand explanation of the costs and services offered at the community. Mom moved in early December, and even with the Covid crises the staff have done a wonderful job making her feel at home. Despite the staffing shortages caused by Covid, Mom tells me she is very pleased with the service at Sunrise of Shrewsbury. Everyone has so helpful and pleasant. I would highly recommend Sunrise of Shrewsbury for anyone seeking an assisted living facility.

I saw Sunrise of Shrewsbury, they showed me around their assisted living. The facility itself was very nice and very clean. The dining area seemed very lovely and they had outdoor spaces. They had little living room areas and a big place where the residents could do crafts and all that stuff. I think the thing that turned me off about the sunrise was the person that showed me around. I forgot her name, but she got way too technical when we went back to discuss it. I had a lot of financial concerns and she just got way too much for me to even absorb at that point. I just wanted the basics like different levels, how the room is going to cost, and all that. She sat there with a calculator, so it was a big turnoff. I only really met the staff at the front door and the girl who showed me around.
