"My grandmother lived at Atria for 11 years of her life, although she wasn't as happy as she was before she had assisted living it was easy to tell that the people at Atria are friendly, well trained and truly care about making Atria a new home for these Senior Citizens. Everything in Atria is kept very clean and sanitary form the lunchrooms to the bedrooms you can tell that Atria has a fantastic cleaning service. Also, the food is far from what you would expect form a nursing home as the variety of food choices makes it impossible to get bored of it as my grandmother told me. Even though my grandmother passed away a few years ago which brings me great sadness, i take comfort in that she was able to enjoy that last few years of her life in what is my opinion the best nursing home in New York State. The staff is really caring and residents are well cared for. Great pricing and fully renovated. Check it out, well worth a visit."

"Atria Park of Great Neck was the second place we saw. It was very nice. The only thing that I think was a drawback is that they don't have an outdoor seating space, just like a little concrete area where you could sit and you overlook traffic, so it's a little noisy if you're sitting outside. Other than that, the place is lovely. I thought that the person who gave us the tour was lovely. The few people that we met that work there were lovely also, very helpful. It seemed like everything was very calm. Everyone was very caring. So I thought that was nice. The place is immaculately clean, which we've always appreciated. They just underwent a big renovation. It's magnificent. It's brand new."

"I went to Sunrise of North Lynbrook for my aunt. It was very well-presented, very nice, and clean. It's like going to someone's house. The price is a little bit pricey. It's a little bit expensive, but they have memory care, and this is privately-funded. For one studio apartment, they were saying like $176 per day, and it comes up to $9,300 and something per month, and that includes the rent plus care. They have like three square meals a day, housekeeping, and laundry, but it was a little pricey. The facility is beautiful. It's exactly how they show you in the brochure. When you go on the website, it's exactly how it is. It's very nice. It's two floors. The amenities are beautiful. They have a cafeteria, a laundry room, and activities outside. They take people out and they go shopping. It is very nice. When I went there, as a matter of fact, there was entertainment, a pianist entertaining some of the residents. At the time, I was looking for assisted living, but then I found out from the social worker where my aunt is at that she needs memory care, too. The staff showed me the setup of how it would be in the assisted living apartment, and an apartment with two bedrooms. I didn't try the food, but they did give me a menu more or less of how the foods are, and I was very impressed with the menu and what they offer to the residents. It's very impressive. Everything is within reach, and everything is nice and neat. They provide the services that certain people would need."

"My husband is currently a resident of Atria Park of Lynbrook. He's staying in memory care and he's getting intense physical therapy for his legs. We did have at home physical therapy for a while, but it didn't work very well. Then his doctor suggested that we find at the very least some respite care where he could get help and that brought us to Atria. We signed a contract in case he does have to stay. He might be a permanent resident. He's been there for about two weeks now. I like everything. It is absolutely outstanding from the day I walked in and my son came with me, he felt the same way. It's been newly done, so it's more like a luxury hotel than it is a medical facility. The help from the top right down to all the aides that take care of him are absolutely excellent. He has a private room. It's like a hotel room. It's got chairs to sit in and it's very much like his bedroom at home. They have activities all day long, and they try to encourage these people to go to them. The meals are outstanding. I've been there with him when he's eating. The physical therapists are so caring and so good with him, that in the two weeks, he has made more progress than I've made with him at home in a couple of years. The physical therapist calls me and explains to me what's going on. It's simply wonderful. They have crafts, movies, and lectures. One day I was in there, they had on the screen, a lecture and a questionnaire, like brainteasers and things like that and he was quite receptive to it. The food looked good and it smelled so good, I wish I was eating it myself. The facility is immaculately clean. I'm very satisfied with it. These things are rather expensive because it's private pay, but I'm fortunate enough to, at least at the time being, be able to afford it."

"Sunrise at Mill Basin is fabulous. I visited two locations for Sunrise, and both are great. They have very good service, and it is very clean. They are really good and very attentive. I went with my mom, and she said she would go now if I would pay for her. She was ready to sign up, but she doesn't need assisted living. We all loved it. The facility itself is very spacious, open, and very inviting. It was colorful, and it was very enjoyable. It felt like almost a getaway or a vacation because it was very relaxing. "

They have a lot of music, singing, walking, arts, and crafts. The rooms are beautiful. They are very accessible, and they listen to you. They are concerned about the family's needs."

"This is a great facility. They offer one and two room suites, which is more than enough for my friend and his wife. There's a great view, as this is right by the bay. The unit is partially furnished with refrigerator and couch. It is TV ready, buy my friend had to bring some of his own furniture into the unit as well. There are a lot of services available at this facility. The 24-hour staff helps with medication regulation, cleaning services, and grooming. There is 24 hour security and there is an emergency button in each room. Dry cleaning and launder services are available, too. On Sundays, there is a worship service for those that are religious. This is really important to my friends. When they want to get out, my friend and his wife have many options. There are many local restaurants and parks where my friend's like to visit. If they want to travel further, there's always public transportation. Central Park and the shows on Broadway are popular places that many residents here like to visit. "

"My mother-in-law is at The Waterford on the Bay. They've been wonderful. They allowed us to pick out what food she likes and they allowed us to bring her clothes. Every time we see her, the aides seem to be feeding her or dressing her or changing her and they're very busy with the other people, too. I have only good things to say about them. They were wonderful from the admission people, to the dietary, to the nursing, and to the aides, and they're going to assess her for rehab. We are very happy she's there. They're always cleaning. She has early dementia, and they have her in the activities that she can do. They were very good to us and they took her right away. I know she's safe, and I could go to sleep and not see her. She's on the Serenity unit."

"The apartments were much too small in Coterie Hudson Yards. I'm a very large person, so they are completely out. I'm not ready for anything like that yet. So, my number one dealmaker was the size of the apartments. I could not be comfortable in their one-bedroom. The staff was friendly. The tour guide was excellent. The food was mediocre, though. I asked for a medium rare hamburger. It did not come; it came more well done. I asked for a toasted bun, but the bun was not toasted."

"Atria Riverdale is top shelf. This is much better than I ever expected. My sister was in and out of nursing homes and for various reasons, a lot of my friends were in nursing homes as well, so I was exposed to a lot of homes. And I'm not kidding, Atria is way above. First of all, their activity sheet is second to none. You've got to have to actually be in a home to see what it's like. Some of them are terrible. Here, they're trying hard. I could see it. They're constantly taking temperatures, they come around once in a while to check blood pressure, they check late at night to make sure I'm all right. They check in the morning, too. I was really impressed that they really want to take care of the person. The staff, especially in the dining room is fantastic. They go out of their way to help you. And if at the last minute you got to go to a doctor, no trouble, they make up a box lunch right away. This actually happened to me a couple of times. I had to go to the last minute and I went into them. No questions asked. They made a box lunch for me. Their menu is second to none. They give you a choice on main dish, they give us soup every day, they give a salad every day and they give a choice of desserts. And you can ask for more. I'm a retired food inspector. The dining room staff is fantastic. They have the right attitude, and if you want a little something different from the menu, and if they have it you got it. They have something that other places don't have. They have multiple choice, like they have exercises, they have bingo games, they have lectures, and they have a movie. Other places can't match it. And I've been to other places. They don't have the activities that they have here. We still got to wear a mask. They don't want large groups. And they're very conscientious about visitors. A person could have the virus and not know what. And all you need is one instance and a place like this in trouble. We have quite a few people living here, and they're all senior citizens, and they could easily come down with something. I've been here for over nine months now. It's not cheap and none of these places are cheap. But I didn't want to go back to my apartment. I had a nice apartment with a doorman in the building. But here I have I have friends, I developed friends already. And as far as I'm concerned, I stay here. The staff is going to work with you. There's entertainment, they have therapists come around periodically to work with you, too. I would say they were on top of things."

"Dad was at The Arbors before he passed away over a year ago. It was excellent. If I had the money right now, I would move in there. My sister picked this place because it was closer to her house. It was easy for her to go back and forth. We visit dad seven days a week and we were able to take him out to dinner often. The rooms are always clean. They had a separate dining room from the sitting area and they have a separate room for TV. They have a full-size pool table, and my father liked to play pool. People would come in with their pet dogs or cats. The staff was very good. You ask them a question and you will always get a direct answer. If they didn't have an answer, they would definitely get back to you. I would recommend The Arbors to anybody if they had the money to put their parents there. "

"I went to The Veranda Assisted Living. When they showed me the rooms and how they renovated certain things, it looked good. At first, I saw people like they were under the influence of alcohol. According to the state law, they cannot stop them from going out of the building, but if they are drinking in the building, then they're going to get penalized. When I was going in, I saw some people drinking, but they were standing outside. When I spoke to the manager, she said they could go out and they could drink, but they cannot use it in the building. The building was clean. They're doing a lot of renovations. They showed me the place where they're eating. It was nice and neat. They said they are doing renovation, floor by floor, coming down, so the whole building is going to be renovated eventually, and it looks good. The manager was helpful. The dining area was nice and clean. They said they have activities for them. They have special therapy, too."
