"My grandmother lived at Atria for 11 years of her life, although she wasn't as happy as she was before she had assisted living it was easy to tell that the people at Atria are friendly, well trained and truly care about making Atria a new home for these Senior Citizens. Everything in Atria is kept very clean and sanitary form the lunchrooms to the bedrooms you can tell that Atria has a fantastic cleaning service. Also, the food is far from what you would expect form a nursing home as the variety of food choices makes it impossible to get bored of it as my grandmother told me. Even though my grandmother passed away a few years ago which brings me great sadness, i take comfort in that she was able to enjoy that last few years of her life in what is my opinion the best nursing home in New York State. "Brooklyn Adult Care Center was clean and well lit. The residents seemed happy, and it had a homey atmosphere. The grounds were well kept and nice, but the neighborhood was a little bit off because it's in an urban city, so that was expected. The rooms were well kept and well lit, clean, and spacious. "

The staff is really caring and residents are well cared for. Great pricing and fully renovated. Check it out, well worth a visit."

"Atria Park of Great Neck was the second place we saw. It was very nice. The only thing that I think was a drawback is that they don't have an outdoor seating space, just like a little concrete area where you could sit and you overlook traffic, so it's a little noisy if you're sitting outside. Other than that, the place is lovely. I thought that the person who gave us the tour was lovely. The few people that we met that work there were lovely also, very helpful. It seemed like everything was very calm. Everyone was very caring. So I thought that was nice. The place is immaculately clean, which we've always appreciated. They just underwent a big renovation. It's magnificent. It's brand new."

"I went to Sunrise of North Lynbrook for my aunt. It was very well-presented, very nice, and clean. It's like going to someone's house. The price is a little bit pricey. It's a little bit expensive, but they have memory care, and this is privately-funded. For one studio apartment, they were saying like $176 per day, and it comes up to $9,300 and something per month, and that includes the rent plus care. They have like three square meals a day, housekeeping, and laundry, but it was a little pricey. The facility is beautiful. It's exactly how they show you in the brochure. When you go on the website, it's exactly how it is. It's very nice. It's two floors. The amenities are beautiful. They have a cafeteria, a laundry room, and activities outside. They take people out and they go shopping. It is very nice. When I went there, as a matter of fact, there was entertainment, a pianist entertaining some of the residents. At the time, I was looking for assisted living, but then I found out from the social worker where my aunt is at that she needs memory care, too. The staff showed me the setup of how it would be in the assisted living apartment, and an apartment with two bedrooms. I didn't try the food, but they did give me a menu more or less of how the foods are, and I was very impressed with the menu and what they offer to the residents. It's very impressive. Everything is within reach, and everything is nice and neat. They provide the services that certain people would need."

"My husband is currently a resident of Atria Park of Lynbrook. He's staying in memory care and he's getting intense physical therapy for his legs. We did have at home physical therapy for a while, but it didn't work very well. Then his doctor suggested that we find at the very least some respite care where he could get help and that brought us to Atria. We signed a contract in case he does have to stay. He might be a permanent resident. He's been there for about two weeks now. I like everything. It is absolutely outstanding from the day I walked in and my son came with me, he felt the same way. It's been newly done, so it's more like a luxury hotel than it is a medical facility. The help from the top right down to all the aides that take care of him are absolutely excellent. He has a private room. It's like a hotel room. It's got chairs to sit in and it's very much like his bedroom at home. They have activities all day long, and they try to encourage these people to go to them. The meals are outstanding. I've been there with him when he's eating. The physical therapists are so caring and so good with him, that in the two weeks, he has made more progress than I've made with him at home in a couple of years. The physical therapist calls me and explains to me what's going on. It's simply wonderful. They have crafts, movies, and lectures. One day I was in there, they had on the screen, a lecture and a questionnaire, like brainteasers and things like that and he was quite receptive to it. The food looked good and it smelled so good, I wish I was eating it myself. The facility is immaculately clean. I'm very satisfied with it. These things are rather expensive because it's private pay, but I'm fortunate enough to, at least at the time being, be able to afford it."

"Sunrise at Mill Basin is fabulous. I visited two locations for Sunrise, and both are great. They have very good service, and it is very clean. They are really good and very attentive. I went with my mom, and she said she would go now if I would pay for her. She was ready to sign up, but she doesn't need assisted living. We all loved it. The facility itself is very spacious, open, and very inviting. It was colorful, and it was very enjoyable. It felt like almost a getaway or a vacation because it was very relaxing. "

"I visited Atria Tanglewood, and I liked everything - the activities, the rooms, and the people; they were all high on my list. They were just more youthful, and they were participating in activities. They were very friendly, and I just thought it would be a better fit for my parents. It was perfect, it was friendly, it was light, and updated; so, I like it. The staff spent a lot of time with us, and we're not pressured to make a decision. Activities, they had a lot; they had a knitting club, an exercise club, they got bingo, and painting. There were many activities."

"This is a great facility. They offer one and two room suites, which is more than enough for my friend and his wife. There's a great view, as this is right by the bay. The unit is partially furnished with refrigerator and couch. It is TV ready, buy my friend had to bring some of his own furniture into the unit as well. There are a lot of services available at this facility. The 24-hour staff helps with medication regulation, cleaning services, and grooming. There is 24 hour security and there is an emergency button in each room. Dry cleaning and launder services are available, too. On Sundays, there is a worship service for those that are religious. This is really important to my friends. When they want to get out, my friend and his wife have many options. There are many local restaurants and parks where my friend's like to visit. If they want to travel further, there's always public transportation. Central Park and the shows on Broadway are popular places that many residents here like to visit. "

"My mother-in-law is at The Waterford on the Bay. They've been wonderful. They allowed us to pick out what food she likes and they allowed us to bring her clothes. Every time we see her, the aides seem to be feeding her or dressing her or changing her and they're very busy with the other people, too. I have only good things to say about them. They were wonderful from the admission people, to the dietary, to the nursing, and to the aides, and they're going to assess her for rehab. We are very happy she's there. They're always cleaning. She has early dementia, and they have her in the activities that she can do. They were very good to us and they took her right away. I know she's safe, and I could go to sleep and not see her. She's on the Serenity unit."

"The apartments were much too small in Coterie Hudson Yards. I'm a very large person, so they are completely out. I'm not ready for anything like that yet. So, my number one dealmaker was the size of the apartments. I could not be comfortable in their one-bedroom. The staff was friendly. The tour guide was excellent. The food was mediocre, though. I asked for a medium rare hamburger. It did not come; it came more well done. I asked for a toasted bun, but the bun was not toasted."

"Sunrise is very nice and very welcoming to all of the families. It’s like an apartment building where everyone has a mailbox on the first floor. It’s very sunny with a lot of windows, and they have their own garden they can go into. The staff is very nice and very informative. Mother was treated very nicely there. The rooms were set up like mini apartments that included a kitchen with a refrigerator, microwave, pantry, and a big closet. There’s a ton of activities, like cooking, painting, reading, games, and trips to movies, to the mall, and to the casino. I took Mother for lunch, and the food was very good. The dining room was set up like a restaurant, and you have your own private table with 2-4 people at a table. You can bring your pets there. "

"I am fairly new to Atria West 86th and has been living here for 2 months now. It has been absolutely positive. The staff are caring and helpful. They are available to help as needed. I am receiving ADLs support with bathing and dressing, which I need help with. In regards to socialization activities, they have plenty of activities to do. In fact, there's too much. I'm busy with my day and the activities keeps me active. The facility brings me joy that I transitioned from respite stay to permanent. "

"I moved into Sunrise of Edgewater and the two weeks of lockdown was extremely difficult for me. I did not have a working television, I was not allowed out of my room, and I had no contacts with other people except when they brought medication, so it was an extremely difficult time. They are very well staffed, and it appears to me they have as much staff as they need in order to conduct their business. They are currently serving a lunch meal in the dining room and other meals are provided in the rooms. Medications are brought to the rooms as well. There is very little activity of any kind, and there are a lot of decorations because of the holidays. They allow visiting, but they make an appointment. You can have a 20-minute visit twice a week inside the garden area. They try to repair anything that goes wrong as best as they can. I had a situation where my bathroom could not be made warm, so it was cold all the time until I could not shower. I asked repeatedly for someone to fix it, and they said they do not know what to do and what could be broken. Finally, I said, "I have not showered in 10 days and I'm going to shower in somebody else's room if you do not fix this." So, somebody went up to the roof, found something up there that was not working, and now it's fine, but it took too long a time. The other thing that troubled me is that I said, "My room is warm, why can't I get a little fan and put the fan on, so it would take some of the heat from my room and push it into the bathroom," and they gave me the most incredibly stupid response. They said, "No, you cannot have small electrical appliances in your bathroom," I said, "What about the electric shaver, what about the hair dryer? What are you talking about?" and they were kind of stumbling and did not know what to say about that. It was an unprepared kind of response. It made me very angry because it did not seem to matter to them that I was in a place where I could not shower. It was very, very stupid and petty and unfortunate. This year, they try quite hard to present a variety of pleasant food in good portion sizes, because they are very well aware that we don't do enough to eat more than we're being fed and that's good because in many other places, they feed you overly. The rooms are very beautiful. My room has five windows in an octagon shape, and it is just beautiful. I feel very safe. I feel that they really go such a long way to make sure that we are kept safe. I want to see how they handle the vaccination because they tend to be a little bit behind on things. They should be actively securing information to give vaccination now, so when our turn comes, we would be able to do it, but I don't see anything happening now. The staff tries very hard to be pleasant and caring. They have somewhat of a difficulty with managing some of our residents because residents at this age and under these circumstances tend to be difficult and very self-opportunistic. They have a hard time managing that, but they do the best they can. They try do some kind of physical workout, I think, but it is not seen with great pleasure, and I have not taken part of that. I find them extremely expensive."
